Hiding in plain sight

Summary:

Mazen and Tye Loe have been dating for years, but who will be the first to discover this little fact.

(Or 5 times they almost got caught, and the 1 time someone was verbally told about the relationship)

Notes:

These are my oc's.
This is actually not canon to the actual story but I found it fun to write so oh well.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

1. Siela Inei

"Tye Loe? I need to talk to you about a new mission." An aged voice called out from the other side of the door.

Tye Loe stared down where he sat, staring into the face of his very new, very secret, lover. His best friend, Mazen Xa-Qui. Tye Loe could have sworn he saw Mazen's eyes almost fling out from the sound of Siela's voice.

Picking up his robes, Tye Loe quickly threw them on, helping Mazen get dressed as well as he moved slowly towards the door, leaving Mazen to try and tidy the bed and get their books back out from underneath the bed.

Tye Loe opened the door, staring at Siela as he tried to relax his breathing.

"Oh, Tye Loe, there you are. Anyways, I need to talk to you about-" Siela stopped her sentence when she heard the sound of someone behind Tye Loe. Turning her head, she saw Mazen, sitting on Tye Loe's bed with a book in his hand and a weak smile on his face. Her eyes moved back to Tye Loe's face, looking at his appearance.

Tye Loe could feel himself sweating with each second that passed.

"I see that you are busy right now with your studies. Shall I come back later?" Tye Loe nodded, trying to not seem too eager to get rid of her. Siela smiled. "Okay, you boys have fun, but not too much."

With that Siela turned away, letting Tye Loe close the door. He sighed, looking over at Mazen who had already placed the book back under the bed and was slowly removing his robes once more.

Tye Loe chuckled.

2. Corina Nallen

Corina was nursing her fifth drink of the night as she travelled down the empty halls, no saints in sight as she slowly walked, taking swigs slowly with a sigh.

It hadn't been the same since Soren...

Still, she walked, everyone must be asleep right now, but she couldn't. It had become normal for her to walk the halls at night, trying to tire herself out before she could fall down into her bed and not wake up until the middle of the day.

Corina's eyes focused as she saw a light at the very end of the hallway, the library.

Confused, she walked over, it was quite a large room but normally people go to bed before she starts to make her rounds. Finishing her drink, she was quick to refill it, making it to the doorway of the room.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" From that, she could hear hushed whispers and the sound of books being moved around.

From behind a wall, Tye Loe walked out, waving at her. He smiled at her, her drunk and tired eyes barely being able to take in the scene.

"Hey Corina, just doing some late night reading before tomorrow." Corina's eyes squinted.

"Were you just talking to someone?" She asked, staring over at him. Tye Loe gently shook his head.

"Nope, just me and the books."

Corina nodded, turning away from the doorway and taking another drink as she made her way back to her bedroom.

Tye Loe sighed, looking over at the pile of books where his boyfriend sat.

At least they didn't get caught.

3. Ravona Satone

Ravona sat holding her baby bump, reading outloud to herself with a smile as she gently stroked her growing bump.

Only three more months and she will be holding her baby girl. She couldn't wait.

Suddenly, there was a knock on her bedroom door. She looked up with large lashes, her voice soft as she spoke.

"Come in." She said, expecting to see the faces of her handmaidens or maybe even her sister.

Instead, she saw the face of her ex boyfriend, Tye Loe Madon, with way too many hickies to even count.

She stared at him, confused.

"Are you alright?" She asked, wondering how many hickies there could even humanly possibly be.

He nodded at her.

"Yeah, I just wanted to talk to you about the birth, I know that this can be a scary time." Ravona smiled, even though it wasn't his baby, she was glad he was so interested in making sure she felt safe.

"Well then, I guess we do need to talk."

Words came out Tye Loe's mouth but to say Ravona was actually listening, would be untrue. Instead, she was staring at the hickies, wondering who was the love monster who had caused this many kisses.

4. Florena Sola

Florena had just entered the fifth division less than a year ago, and yet she already felt like part of the team.

Tonight, was the monthly relax night, where they would all sit in the same room, just relaxing and talking to one another.

As she spoke to Talyra and Leta, discussing their favourite songs and musicans, Florena couldn't help when her eyes started to flutter towards the two men behind them.

Tye Loe and Mazen had always been close, she knew this for a fact. But they seemed to be cuddling, in fact Mazen even looked like he had fallen asleep on Tye Loe's chest.

She was't able to focus on the scene for too long, as she was forced back into the conversation with Talyra and Leta, but still her mind wondered how close those two really were, and if they even realised how close they were.

5. Kora Xa-Qui

Any visit from her son was a reward, Kora found out.

But this visit was even better when she noticed the ring on his finger. In fact, she almost squealed at the pure sight of the silver that wrapped itself around his finger. She smiled, looking up at him.

"You got married? Oh, you have to tell me everything, what is she like? Do I know her? Will you be having kids?" Mazen pulled back from his mother's questioning, looking away.

"Mother, let's just enjoy our time together, okay?"

Kora wondered what the problem was but she didn't push for more information, instead deciding to spend the time with her son.

She never asked him who gave him the ring on his finger.

And she never even had the chance to.

+1. Talyra Tarick

The sun was beginning to set on the planet where the resistance had decided to set up their base.

It had only been one day since Zena had ran into the first rift that had opened and left them with a confused group and a worried Tye Loe who didn't know if she would ever be returning.

Talyra sat on her own in a tent, sighing as she watched her wife, Leta, talk to everyone. She waved gently to her sweet wife, before putting her hand back down.

Next to her, a shadow formed as a man decided to sit right next to her.

She didn't even have to turn to know the man who had sat next to her:

Tye Loe Madon.

She sighed.

"I love her so much." She whispered, staring at her wife. Tye Loe smiled.

"I know how that feels." Talyra's eyes wandered to Tye Loe's face, a small amount of confustion attacking her.

How could Tye Loe know how she felt?

"Oh yeah, what, did you get married while I wasn't looking?" She joked, chuckling to herself. Tye Loe's expression did not change.

"Yes, I did."

Talyra almost fell out her own chair, looking over at the man she had considered a mentor.

"What, you're married?" Tye Loe smiled weakly, pulling out a silver wedding ring from under his robes. It was aged, small amounts of damage having been done to it over time.

"I used to be." He replied, keeping the ring in the palm of his hand as he stared at it with older eyes.

Talyra stared at him with sad eyes, her arms having a mind of their own as they quickly wrapped around him, pulling him into a tight embrace.

"I didn't know." She gently whispered as she held onto him. Tye Loe smiled at the embrace.

"No one did."

With that, Talyra and Tye Loe just sat together in silence, with the knowledge only the two of them knew.

Notes:

Tell me what you think.
I was going to make it longer but my back is really hurting at the moment so I didn't.
