Work Text:

Dracula got up from his coffin and walked toward Ericka's bedroom. Ericka peacefully slept until Dracula knocked on the door and yelled Ericka's name repeatedly. Ericka shivered and turned her alarm off but still heard Dracula.

"ERICKA! ERICKA! ERICKA!" yelled Dracula outside as he banged the door. Erciak grumbled and got up from her bed, then opened the door. "Good evening."

"Yawn! Good evening, honeyfangs. What do you want?" asked Ericka, yawning again.

"I thought about something. I always host parties for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, but never for smaller holidays like Valentine's Day, so I decided to host a party for it this year!" chuckled Dracula. He snapped his fingers, and two floating buckets with invitations appeared. "You and I can try delivering these invitations to all rooms before everyone wakes up!"

Ericka grumbled and looked down.

"All right," sighed Ericka.

Later

The monsters started waking up and found the invitations at their doors. Eunice picked the invitation up and shivered when she saw what it said.

"Dracula's hosting the first Hotel Transylvania Valentine's Day party! The couples will give each other a gift!" read Eunice frantically. She gulped and started sweating in her pajamas. "What do I do? I don't even know what to get Frank. I only buy a gift for him on his birthday or Christmas."

Frank yawned and stretched his arms, then got up from bed.

"Good evening, Eunice! What's that in your hand?" asked Frank.

"Uh, um," whimpered Eunice.

Frank saw the invitation and gasped.

"A Valentine's Day party?! Wow!" chuckled Frank, taking the invitation from Eunice. "Dracula's finally hosting something for a different holiday!"

Eunice nervously chuckled and scratched her back.

The monsters talked about the Valentine's Day party when they had breakfast.

"I'll get Murray a jar of sand and beetles inside!" chuckled Mummette.

"I'll get Wayne some new clothes, but I want to get him something else! I know! I'll write him a poem!" said Wanda.

"I'll get Johnny- Wait, I don't know," whimpered Mavis, scratching her head. "I'll go to the mall tonight."

Eunice sweated and fidgeted her fingers as the girls looked at her.

"Eunice? What are you getting Frank?" asked Crystal.

"AH! Uh, oh, um, I don't know," whimpered Eunice. As she stressed more and more, an idea came to her mind. "I know what I should do!"

Eunice got up and suddenly grabbed Ericka and Ginger's hands, then ran toward the lab.

"HEY!" yelped Ginger.

"Well, I guess we should prepare our gifts," said Mummette as the girls left the table.

Eunice put some paper on a board as Ericka and Ginger watched.

"Eunice?! What do you want now?!" growled Ericka, putting her hands on her hips.

"All right, so I have to get Frank a gift for Valentine's Day this year," said Eunice, drawing on the paper. "I usually give Frank something simple for Valentine's Day, like a card or box of chocolates, but never a gift."

Ginger raised her eyebrow.

"Okay? Just get your husband a gift. It's not that hard," grumbled Ginger, crossing her arms.

"Frankenginger, it's not as easy as it looks. Frank is a HUGE gifter to everyone. If I get him a small and simple gift, he'll be disappointed," explained Eunice, drawing herself giving Frank a blending machine, then drawing an angry Frank throwing the blending machine. "And if I get him a huge gift, he'll freak out!"

Eunice drew herself giving Frank a large golden ring, then him screaming and running away.

"So I thought of this: Since Frank likes multitasking, I decided to make a machine that can help him in the morning! The machine can help Frank brush his teeth and hair, shave, put his clothes on, and drink his coffee!" chuckled Eunice as she drew what the machine would look like.

"That's a great idea, Eunice! But how will you build the machine?" asked Ericka nervously.

"I can't build it by myself. I have to ask you two: Will you help me build this machine for Frank?" asked Eunice quickly.

"WHAT? NO!" growled Ericka as Ginger shook her head quickly.

"You two are my friends!" argued Eunice.

"I'm his cousin. You're his wife! You should be making his gift, not me!" growled Ginger, crossing her arms. Eunice cried and begged on the floor. "Great!"

"Please! Even if you help, I'll do most of the work!" whined Eunice.

"FINE! I'll help you make a blueprint to guide you, but you're doing the building part!" grumbled Ericka.

"Hehe. Thanks. Wait, I have to get Frank's measurements for his clothes! You two make the blueprint while I get his measurements," said Eunice, walking away.

Meanwhile

Wanda wrote her poem for Wayne.

"How your fur moves reminds me of a wave, and it's as dark as a cave... My dearest handsome Wayne, you, uh," whimpered Wanda as she stopped writing. "What rhymes with Wayne? Maybe I should go to the library."

Wanda went to the library and looked through the bookshelves. She found a book named "Monstrous Rhymes" and checked it out. When Wanda returned to her room, she chuckled and opened the book, but the pages were blank.

"Huh?" said Wanda as she turned the pages. A black mist appeared from the book as Wanda gasped and dropped it. "AH!"

A scary face formed on the black mist as Wanda shivered.

"Finally! A monster looking for a rhyme!" cackled the black mist. It looked down at Wanda. "Little werewolf, what rhymes do you want?"

"UH... I'm looking for words that rhyme with my husband's name! Wayne!" shivered Wanda. "I'm writing a Valentine's Day poem for him!"

"Let's see, words that rhyme with Wayne," said the black mist. Words appeared on the pages as the black mist turned them. "Ah-ha! Try this word! Again!"

"My dearest handsome Wayne, I can't wait to see you again! No! It doesn't even sound like a rhyme!" growled Wanda.

"Uh, what about pain?" chuckled the black mist nervously.

"My dearest handsome Wayne, I could never see you in pain- That doesn't even make sense!" whimpered Wanda, sitting on her bed. "I should give up and just give Wayne his new clothes."

The black mist floated toward Wanda.

"My friend The Boogeyman can help you with your poem," said the black mist.

"O-Okay," said Wanda. "Where do I find him?"

"I'll show you the way," said the black mist.

Meanwhile

Brandon and Johnny were amazed when they saw an enormous gift box in the party room.

"Whoa, Frank! That's your gift for Eunice?!" said Johnny.

"Yep, I wanted to go big this year," chuckled Frank.

"You're getting a huge gift for your wife. Must be a lot of pressure," said Brandon. He put his paw on his chin. "I don't know what to get Gingy though."

"OH! Frankenginger likes weightlifting. You should get her some new barbells. She lost her old ones," whimpered Frank as Brandon chuckled and nodded his head.

"I'm getting Mavis a pink vampire cape. I hope she likes it!" chuckled Johnny.

Meanwhile

Mavis was at the mall looking for a gift for Johnny.

"Why don't I get him this movie?" said Mavis to herself, picking up a DVD. "No, he'll watch it once, then throw it away."

Mavis walked inside a clothes store and looked around.

"This one? No, too dark," whimpered Mavis, putting the shirt back. She saw a jacket and picked it up. "Too puffy. Man! I don't know what to get Johnny! Why don't I get him a video game? NO! He's not a gaming guy!"

Mavis sat down at a table and put her head on her hands.

"I should get Johnny a card. Hopefully, he'll take it," sighed Mavis, getting up and walking away.

Meanwhile

Wanda followed the black mist into the forest. The black mist and Wanda went into a darker area as Wanda whimpered and looked around.

"Uh. Are we going the right way?" asked Wanda worriedly. She heard sounds everywhere and shivered. "It's s-scary."

"A monster afraid of the dark, how ironic," grumbled the black mist.

"I'm not! I've never been this deep in the Transylvanian forest before!" growled Wanda. She and the black mist stopped by a cave. "Is this it?"

"Yep. Just go inside," said the black mist.

Wanda gulped and walked inside the cave with a lantern.

"Mr. Boogeyman?" whimpered Wanda as she looked around. She suddenly tripped over and screamed. "AHHH!"

Wanda realized she had tripped on a large pawprint.

"Gulp, that must be from The Boogeyman," shivered Wanda.

"Who goes there?" yelled a voice as Wanda screamed. She saw a shadow that looked like a tall figure with eight arms. The Boogeyman looked down at a speechless Wanda. "What do you want?"

"A-A b-black m-mist s-said you can help m-me with my Valentine's D-Day poem!" stammered Wanda.

"Ah, my old friend from that magic rhyming book must've sent you here," chuckled The Boogeyman. He placed one of his hands on Wanda's shoulders. "What do you need?"

"I'm struggling to find a great name that rhymes with my husband's name, Wayne," whimpered Wanda.

"Hmm. What is Wayne to you?" asked The Boogeyman.

"My husband?" said Wanda.

"Think from your heart," said The Boogeyman, softly tapping Wanda's chest.

"Think from my heart... OH! Wayne's my husband, so he's my love! I GOT IT!" chuckled Wanda, clapping her paws. "How your fur moves reminds me of a wave, and it's as dark as a cave! Wayne, my dearest Valentine and love, you're as handsome as a dove! Thank you so much! I thought about giving up!"

"You're welcome," said the Boogeyman.

Meanwhile

Frank talked with Murray and Wayne about his enormous gift to Eunice.

"What are you getting Eunice, Frank?" asked Wayne.

"I can't tell you. It's a secret. And Eunice can't know about it," said Frank as he smirked.

"Well, I'm getting Mummette a box of chocolate-covered beetles. What about you, Wayne?" said Murray.

"I got Wanda some cheesecake-flavored werewolf treats," said Wayne.

Eunice saw Frank, Wayne, and Murray in the party room and gasped. She quietly walked over to Frank and got the measuring tape out.

"I got this white tuxedo with pink accents, and Eunice has a light pink dress for the party. We'll look so nice," chuckled Frank, unaware of Eunice measuring him.

Wayne and Murray noticed Eunice and raised their eyebrows.

"Eunice, what are you doing?" asked Murray, confused.

Eunice yelped and put the measuring tape away.

"Nothing!" shivered Eunice.

Frank started sweating when he saw Eunice and looked back at the enormous gift box.

"UH... Wayne and Murray have to get going!" chuckled Frank nervously, looking at his friends and nervously smiling.

"Um, we gotta go play some poker," said Wayne.

"Poker? Since when did y'all play poker?" asked Eunice, confused.

"CARDS!" yelped Murray.

"I MEANT CARDS!" shivered Wayne.

Wayne and Murray walked away as Eunice looked at Frank.

"Why don't we take a picture together?" suggested Eunice, setting up a selfie stick on the floor and putting her phone on it.

"Eunice, we're not dressed up. Why not tomorrow night?" whimpered Frank.

"I just felt like taking a picture tonight!" chuckled Eunice nervously, taking the measuring tape back out. Wayne and Murray got a ladder and climbed the gift box to cry and cover Eunice's name. "Three, two, one!"

Eunice measured Frank as the phone took pictures. Wayne tried putting a tablecloth on Eunice's name but dropped it. Eunice ran over to her phone and looked at the pictures but realized it was at the wrong angle.

"Aww. I got the wrong angle," whimpered Eunice as she swiped on her phone. However, she saw a picture of her name on the gift box. "FRANK'S GETTING A LARGE GIFT FOR ME?! I'll see you later, Frankie, bye!"

Eunice rushed to go to the lab and breathed heavily. She saw Ericka with the blueprint and took it from her hands.

"WHAT? Eunice, do you even know how to? " Eunice cut Ericka off.

"CHANGE OF PLANS! I found out Frank's making a large gift for me, so I have to make a large one for him too!" yelled Eunice, starting to build the machine. "Instead of a morning routine machine, I'll make Frank a daily routine machine!"

Ericka and Ginger looked at each other worriedly.

"I don't think this is gonna end well," whimpered Ginger.

Eunice finished the machine in about 20 minutes. It had a newspaper machine, a shower, a TV, an ice cream maker, a mini-gym, and much more.

"THERE! I finished building it! Now, time to test it!" chuckled Eunice, flipping the on switch. The machine started working as Eunice clapped her hands. "YES! IT WORKS!"

However, gears and nails suddenly started popping out as Ericka and Ginger shivered with helmets on. Eunice dropped her jaw when she saw smoke coming out.

"Yeah, that's my question to get outta here," grumbled Ericka.

Ericka and Ginger left the lab as the machine started malfunctioning.

"What's wrong?! I don't understand!" whimpered Eunice. The machine started to break more as Eunice yelped. It exploded and flung Eunice through the lab's exit, the hotel window, and then into space. Eunice saw an alien in its UFO. "Hey."

"Hello," said the alien as Eunice fell back towards Earth.

Eunice landed inside the hotel fountain.

"I'm screwed," whimpered Eunice as some piranhas tried biting her.

Meanwhile

Wanda walked back to the hotel in the forest. She saw Mavis in her bat form, sadly flying with a Valentine's Day card.

"Mavis? What's wrong?" asked Wanda.

"Sigh. I wanted to get something for Johnny at the mall, but I couldn't find anything," whimpered Mavis. She started to make the pouty bat face.

"Mavis, I learned from somebody that you should think from your heart. What would Johnny like? What was one thing you didn't look for in the mall?" asked Wanda.

"Uhm... Shoes?" said Mavis. She gasped when she thought of something. "SHOES! I should get Johnny some new shoes! Thanks, Aunt Wanda. I'll order them when I get back!"

Later

When it was lunch, Eunice sat alone and sadly ate by herself. All she could think about was Frank's gift exploding.

Wanda, Crystal, Ericka, and Mummette talked together at another table.

"I have my gift for Dracula ready!" chuckled Ericka.

"Mine for Griffin, too!" said Crystal.

"Hey, where's Eunice?" asked Mummette. She and the others looked around and saw a sad Eunice sitting alone. "Why is she sad?"

"Oh. Eunice tried making a gift for Frank in the lab, but it exploded," whimpered Ericka.

The girls walked over to Eunice and sat down.

"Eunice, are you all right?" asked Wanda. Eunice suddenly started crying and slammed her head on the table. "EUNICE?!"

"I feel terrible!" cried Eunice as Wanda tried comforting her. "I don't have a gift for Frank tomorrow! He'll be so disappointed!"

"Eunice, get him a card or something. He'll understand," grumbled Crystal.

"No! He's getting me a large gift, so getting him just a card isn't enough!" growled Eunice.

"Eunice, think from your heart," sighed Wanda.

"My heart? What do you mean?" whimpered Eunice.

"Make something that would make Frank feel special or show that you truly love him," said Wanda.

"Okay, I'll try."

When Eunice got upstairs, she looked through some old photos of her and Frank. Eunice then found an empty journal and put her hand on her chin.

"I think I should make a scrapbook," said Eunice.

The Next Night

Everybody attended the Valentine's Day party and started handing out their gifts.

Winnie gave Dennis a pop-up that popped out glitter onto Dennis's face.

"Aww! Thanks, Winnie!" chuckled Dennis.

"You're welcome, zing-zing!" said Winnie.

Wayne gave Wanda her dog treats, and Wanda gave Wayne the poem and clothes.

"Wow! This poem's sweet, Wanda!" said Wayne.

Wayne and Wanda kissed.

"Thanks, Hon," chuckles Wanda.

Johnny opened his gift and gasped when he saw the new shoes.

"I've been wanting new shoes, Mavis! Thank you!" said Johnny.

"You're welcome!" said Mavis.

Eunice sweated as she looked at the scrapbook she made for Frank. She gulped and looked at her husband.

"You can go first," said Frank, smiling.

"I made this, uh, scrapbook for you," whimpered Eunice, scratching her back and giving the scrapbook to Frank. "I planned on giving you a bigger gift, but it blew up. I wanted to give you something, so I made this corny scrapbook..."

Frank looked through the scrapbook. It was named "Frank My Valentine" and had pictures of memories, drawings, notes, and pop-ups.

"Eunice, this isn't corny at all. It's cute and beautiful," whimpered Frank as Eunice widened her eyes. "You made a scrapbook for me?"

"I believe that's why two of my fingers are permanently stuck together," chuckled Eunice. Frank kissed Eunice on her cheek as her face turned red. She smiled and put her hand on her cheek. "Now I'll open my gift."

The monsters saw Eunice about to open the large gift box.

"Whoa! Eunice is about to get her large gift!" chuckled Mummette, pointing. Frank crossed his arms and smirked as Eunice opened the gift box. To everyone's surprise, Eunice's gift was ... nothing. "What?"

"Oh, my husband got me an enormous gift of nothing," whimpered Eunice.

"Frank getting Eunice nothing? He's the largest gifter!" said Dracula.

The monsters looked at each other, confused, shocked, and surprised.

"Why? Why get someone a large gift if they're already special enough?" said Frank, holding Eunice's hands. "They're lovable, sweet, adorable, beautiful, and they're your wife. She's a Valentine's Day gift to me, and I'm a Valentine's Day gift to her."

Eunice smiled and blushed on her cheeks as Frank did the same. The two flesh golems then kissed each other.

"Since everyone finished giving out their gifts, why don't we start the party??" yelled Dracula.

The monsters cheered and ran to the dance floor.

The alien in the UFO flew by the hotel and cheered, "Happy Valentine's Day!"

Red and pink fireworks exploded into the night sky.
