Work Text:
He was left alone, everyone assumed he was sick.. He was sick, he was deathly sick.
He could tell that he wouldn’t be able to live with himself much longer.
Sam and Grian were happy, so he was happy, but the flowers filling his lungs were not.
He wanted to die already, succumb to his body taking him and squeezing his heart with vines until he was gone, but he couldn’t die on their couch.
He would feel selfish if he did that.
Sam didn’t need to see his friend dead just because he was in love with him. That would traumatize the poor guy.
So instead, Coolment stood up, body aching and lungs struggling, but he stood. His legs felt like jelly and his head is light. Tears pinprick in his eyes but he ignores them like he did with his pain, because he had to get rid of his own body.
Where? He didn’t know. But he had to go.
He didn’t put shoes on, not even a better outfit, just his sleeping shirt and gym shorts.
His body felt like it would fall apart in seconds, his lungs burned, his throat felt sore as he coughed up loads of petals in his shaking palms.
He wants to cry, and beg for it to stop, but he can’t bring himself to do that much.
He walks slowly, tumbling, sure bystanders think he’s on something, but he goes on.
He doesn’t know when, or how, but he runs into Ellen.. Shouldn’t they be at school? Is his first thought, his next thought is : Why was Ellen holding me..
Something about the purple haired person was comforting, something told Coolment he could shut his eyes, and let them carry him to wherever they were taking him.
He trusted that he would be safe.
Ellen silently carries him to their house, he was light for a boy who originally looked like he had meat on his bones. He was pale, and corpse-like, his body was burning, and from the way he kept coughing up blood and flowers they could only assume that he wouldn’t be waking up anytime soon.
So they held him even as he was put into a bed, hoping in some part of their otherworldly body, that this brought him some ease.
They hoped they could hide him properly so he could continue to go peacefully.
Maybe then they’ll call an ambulance.
Who knows.
He didn’t.
