Ardien was proud to say that he had come to terms with the fact that Ladybug was just not going to like him. He loves the friendship and everything that comes with spending time with her but it also was just not practical. If the secret identities were a no go then how would they even date? It would feel like dating someone you didn't really know.
He himself changes when he is Chat Noir and Ladybug probably does too. So he was therefore not really in love with her. Plus he was now interested in Kagami. Yes she seems like she is perfect in everything that she does but there was more under the surface then that. And the fun of finding it out bit by bit was thrilling to say the least.
She presents herself in the prefect in everything that I do, almost cocky in the way. Yes she is bold and daring but there is a softer side to herself then most would try to find out. And Ariden was going to find out.
Kneeling before her as he yields in fencing, yes he was just distracted but he also likes seeing her win. Even though at his best he could never beat her. Taking off her helmet she puts out her hand to get back up.
He takes the hand and does not look back.
