Chapter Text

Entering through atmosphere’s was always touchy work and you were well aware of it, your many travels made you no stranger to entering new planets. But this time it was a little different than usual.
Everything was going fine until a sudden unsuspected force hit the side of your ship, it hadn’t showed up on any of your radars and immediately red flights flashed across the small one-man ship. Usually a dent or two would never affect you but you’ve never had a siren go off before. This can’t be good.

You flicker some controls around, trying to get your ship back on course but it seems the impact hit one of the main engines along the ship’s side. A whispered string of curses leaves your lips as you look out the windshield, seeing the ground approaching fast, you pull your hands from the deck and fasten yourself into the brace position, bracing for a not so smooth landing.

And a not so smooth landing it was.

The trees managed to break a lot of the fall but that didn’t mean it hurt any less. You had blacked out for most of it, waking up in your seat with a smashed windshield and loose items strewn across the floor. All electrics that were previously on were now off and it was eerily dark. It takes a few minutes for you to recuperate yourself and get your surroundings back fully. Once you properly wake up you unclip all your seatbelts and stand up, with your elbow you clear some of the broken glass so you can climb out.

You stumble out of the ship and look at the side, seeing the damage and the stream of smoke that plummeted out of it, cringing at the sight. You look around and up, trying to find any clues as to what could have hit you, still unaware of the cause of all this, you didn’t see anything and nothing showed up on the radars.

As you spin your head around, a metallic glint catches your eye and you pause as you stare at it for a moment before approaching with quiet and cautious steps. You were defenceless currently, all your equipment still in the damaged ship, and you were on a new, unknown planet.

You approach the unknown and see a similar-looking ship however this one’s front was nearly completely caved in, there is no way this thing is empty, you think as you grow closer, picking up a rock to smash the windshield with.

Once you clear the glass you see in the dim light the figure of a man slumped over in the cockpit. The man looked like he had definitely seen better days, his hair was messed up and a gash was bleeding on the side of his head.

You unclip the man and try to drag him out of the ship, your own injuries making themselves prevalent, you hold it back with a grunt and finish pulling him out of the ship, laying him on the grass. You try to wipe away the blood from his cut but it only smears the blood across his face more. He didn’t have too many physical injuries that you could see and you deduce that he would be fine without immediate medical attention.

You can see his uniform in the dim moonlight, you can make out the dark colour with some greys and blues forming a pattern, it seems familiar, but you search his top to properly identify the man. Pulling the card out, you squint to read and the familiarity suddenly makes a lot of sense.. He was from Strecazuno. Your sister planet.

In your solar system there were two inhabited planets; yours, Gelenoe, and its neighbour, Strecazuno. For many years now there had been tension between the two planets, a silent battle for power and control.

You looked up and stared at the man’s face, concentrating on his features in the darkness, he looked familiar. He had pale skin, thin lips, a pointed nose and dark brown hair. Your eyebrows knitted as your brain racked on where you would have known him from.

You unzip his suit, tugging on the fabric to get it to properly loosen, finding an identity card in one of the inner pockets. You smile when your fingers touch a cool slab of metal and you pull it out. Bingo.

You had no time to read the card before the - previously - unconscious man lunged at you, pulling you into him while simultaneously pulling himself up. He quickly wraps an arm around your neck, not choking you but still having you in a vulnerable position, your elbow swings back and meets his abdomen harshly. It works to loosen his grip but only by a little. In a panic you throw your head back and cry out as your skulls hit together. His arm loosens properly now as his other hand cups his forehead. You kick yourself forwards and drive your hands into his shoulders to pin him to the forest ground.

“Fucking get off me!” He grunts at you, still dazed from the crash which makes him a little impaired.

“Stop attacking me! I’m not trying to hurt you!” You say firmly, pushing down on his shoulders again.

“You’re Gespa, why should I trust you?” He spits as if your planetary race was something bad.

“I could’ve killed you when you were unconscious! Just stop, your injuries will get worse!” He stopped moving and just laid back, his breath panting a little as his eyes flicker around. You studied him for a moment, the identity card lost somewhere in the grass now. His face contorted a little as he stared back at you and after some quiet moments he said.. “Y/N?”

You pause, taken aback that he knows your name. Once your composure regains after a second you have a realisation.

“Doom..?”

He had aged quite a bit since you had last seen him, by no means were either of you considered old but the last time you had seen each other was a fair few years ago.

“Get off me.” He says and you slowly stand up, your movements careful to see if he will suddenly react or attack again. You sit on the ground, letting yourself breathe. The only sound was your breaths.

“It’s really you..?” You say, your eyes flickering across his face in disbelief, emotions swelled in you but before you could say anything more a light nearby turns on. A man comes out with a bewildered expression and you both sit there frozen.

“Shit.”
