Keatting's Academy, located in upstate New York, boasts a modern campus with 10 buildings, including six-story luxurious-style structures, all except for the entrance and outdoor theater, which exude a more classical aesthetic. Surrounded by lush woods, the academy experiences the beauty of all four seasons. Keatting academy. Has four houses. The Aurora Borealis building . The Silverlake building. The redwood building. The hawthorn building. People are sorted into their house upon entering the school. They take a quick test it determines their house. Some people have to choose a house because they get an equal score for two different houses. Hawthorn for the brave, outspoken, and crafty. Aurora for the creative, ingenious and elegant. Silverlake for the rebels, headstrong and opinionated. Redwood for the outsiders, the left behind and the lost souls. Each building is next to each other. Anyone from any house can go into another during the day. At night if you are caught outside of your house you get in trouble.
Each building is the same. 3-4 people share a dorm room. There are ten rooms on the floor. Each building is six stories. Every building has glass walls facing the outside except for the bathrooms. Each room has a private bathroom. Each student has their own bed, closet and desk with a desk chair within the dorm. The only thing a student needs from the outside world is street clothes for Fridays and weekends when uniforms are not required to be worn. The first floor of every dorm building is called the commons. It’s a space where any student regardless of their house can hang out with their friends. Filled with comfortable chairs and ambiance. Free WiFi and a snack bar. The students also have access to a quiet area where they can do their schoolwork.
Students are allowed to customize their own rooms but can change the bedsheets. Their laundry is done by the cleaning staff. Each student has three cards. A library card that grants them access to the library and computer labs. A food card that grants them the ability to get food from the cafeteria free of charge. A student card that is used to access the school’s computer system, their classes and the dorm buildings.The students are not allowed to leave the school unless they are going on a field trip, or leaving with a family member.
