Chapter Text

The six-year-old looked between his parents and then the colour swatch his mother had in her hand, his lips pouted as he frowned at the colour.

He could see the look his parents shared with each other, but he wanted the pink room. His daddy didn't like it, But his mommy had a pink room! But Dudley had learned long ago that he wasn't supposed to like the colour.

"I'm sorry Dudley, but this room isn't going to be pink, not when I have a perfectly good light blue one sitting right over there, that could be all yours" mummy cooed softly. She looked over her son's shoulder and gave his father a warning glare before he said anything.

"No, I want pink, you had a pink room" Dudley complained.

"Yes I did, but pink is a girly colour" she reminded him "And I'm a girl, you're a boy, and so is Daddy" she chides

"So? You like pink, why can't I?" He asked, his eyes narrowing slightly, he hated that rule, his cousin Harry wore pink .

"But...why?"

"Because... Because I say sol It's just how things are, you're not a faggot, are you, son?" Daddy snaps

Dudley remained silent

"Thought not, now one more mention of a pink room and we might as well buy you Barbies ot a goddamn princess dress!! Do you want all your friends to laugh at you??" Dudley shrunk back, he wanted barbies or a princess dress, but he knew he wasn't supposed to, because Dudley was normal, he liked football and wrestling, and playing rough, he didn't like Barbies and Pink

"I think I've heard enough, Dudley, do you want a blue room, or do you want a pink one?" Mummy says, he recognized that tone, she used it on Harry all the time, a warning.

"... B.. Blue" he answered in defeat

"Good choice son, good choice" his father grinned, patting him on the back
