Work Text:
Hangings and burnings were the norm for Philip and Caleb in Puritan society.
The two boys found the inhumane acts to be fun and exhilarating, Philip more so than Caleb because of his younger age.
They were something to look forward to after a busy day.
As Caleb got older, he started to develop slight sympathy for the families he witnessed crying and mourning over the ones they lost.
However, the blonde would always regain his composure and steadily shake the negative feelings away, gently reminding himself that they were wicked witches whose fates were inevitably sealed by God.
This punishment was the most fitting for those who serve and communicate with the devil.
At the end of the day, all of this pain was for the greater good of humanity.
For the betterment and security of Caleb and his brother's souls.
These murders were making Gravesfield a better place.
…Right?
