Since she was a witch who possessed fire magic, Evelyn enjoyed adding a little, or in this case, a lot of spice in her life.
However, when it came to cooking meals for Caleb, she had to tone down the spiciness for his sake.
The redhead couldn’t take the risk of accidentally setting her husband's tongue, or him, on fire.
Once, she was kidnapped by a group of witch hunters who set her body ablaze while chanting the words, “BURN, WITCH, BURN! BURN, WITCH, BURN!” vigorously, but nothing happened.
Evelyn was completely unharmed by the flames.
In fact, she seemed to be digging them.
The hunters all looked horrified to witness that their fire had no effect on this dastardly witch, as Evelyn ate up their reactions with a grin.
Inhaling deeply, Evelyn breathes out a simple boo, immediately sending the hunters in flight mode as they all flee in terror, causing Evelyn to cackle at the hilarity of the situation.
Scary witch hunters, her butt.
Another time, in a tavern located in Bonesborough, a crowd of bargoers watched with great anticipation as Evelyn went up against a muscular demon in a spicy food eating challenge.
The demon guy decides to go first, picking up a pepper from off of the table and tossing it into his mouth, gulping it down in one go.
Upon hearing the crowd's ooo's, he looks to Evelyn, a smug smile crossing his lips as he crosses his arms.
'Try beating that,' thought the demon.
Evelyn chuckles at him before releasing a big yawn.
That’s seriously all he's got?
'Wow,' she thought to herself.
Talk about boring.
It was now her turn.
Taking the same pepper, Evelyn grabs a bottle of hot sauce.
Drizzling the red sauce onto the pepper, she blazes it in flames with her magic and opens her mouth.
Gently placing the pepper on the top of her tongue, Evelyn swallows the whole thing with no problem.
The demon's jaw DROPS.
The crowd’s ooos are WAY more louder this time.
BUT WAIT, Evelyn's not finished yet.
The bottle of hot sauce?
She guzzles down the entire bottle just for fun.
The crowd proceeds to roar in amazement at this staggering achievement.
Of course, Caleb is the loudest cheerer amoug the throng.
That was Evelyn's cheerleader.
