Aziraphale used a small miracle to make it so that the baby wouldn’t feel his hands as he went to feel over the little one’s back, and as gently as he could–the angel used his palm to feel over the skin.
The warm skin was normal by all accounts, Aziraphale had felt Cosmo’s ribs and the bumps of each vertebrae until right at the soft flesh between the spine and shoulder blades he felt a bump, firm and warm, with an identical one upon the other side.
“Oh,” was all he managed to say.
“Oh?” Crowley asked.
“Cosmo’s getting their wings,” Aziraphale smiled,
