Surprise Broccoli

Summary:

Sanji was in shit. Deep, deep shit. Six months ago, he had sex with Zoro in the crow’s nest and because neither of them thought about protection, Sanji was now pregnant.

He couldn’t tell him.

He couldn’t tell Zoro. The swordsman would hate him. He will think Sanji tried to baby-trap him. They weren't even dating for fuck's sake.

Sanji had no choice. He had to lie, he couldn’t tell anyone, especially Zoro that he was going to be a father.

TW: morning sickness, throwing up, mention of sex, light slut shaming.

Like every time I write a fic I was like, “Okay so this time I don’t have a lot of ideas so if I pass like 4k it will be great.” anyway enjoy my new 10k hurt comfort baby. I hope you guys will like it.

Eli, I swear stop writing tweets that make me want to write 10k long fic, please. (Never stop please pretty please. I might consider writing the one with Brook and Zoro bonding and talking about Sanji while drinking tea now. And I swear I will do the one with Zoro and Tashigi being in love with the Vinsmoke siblings one day.)

English is not my first language so I apologize for the grammar fault. I hope you guys will like it!

Work Text:

Sanji took some toilet paper and wiped the vomit from the corner of his mouth. He had been throwing up for the past ten minutes and the feeling of sickness wouldn’t pass. Sanji had woken up at five a.m. like every morning. He had done his morning routine in the bathroom, and since it was hair day, he showered his blond hair and put lotions on his wave. After he put on his suit, Sanji went into the galley to prepare breakfast.

The second Sanji opened the fridge and smelled the food, he ran to the toilet close to the galley to throw up. Sanji needed to suck it up. He had breakfast to prepare and the others would wake up soon. A new wave of nausea came and Sanji threw up again.

“Cook?”

Oh fuck.

Zoro knocked on the door. “Cook? You’re in there?”

Sanji wiped the vomit one more time. “Just a second mosshead.”

“Are you alright? Are you throwing up again Stupid Cook?”

Sanji sighed. “Leave me alone moss of brain. If you’re hungry just pick up some bread on the counter.”

“Something is fucking wrong Curly. It’s been weeks now. We have to tell Chopper.”

Sanji threw up again. He went to the sink next to it and cleaned his mouth. It physically pained Sanji to say it but the idiot swordsman was right. The first time Sanji threw up, he thought that the milk he had just drank had been spoiled. The second morning, Sanji thought he had maybe eaten something bad too. At the end of the first week, he only thought about a simple stomach bug that would pass in a couple of days so he didn’t go to Chopper not wanting to bother their little doctor. But now, it’s been six weeks and Sanji was still throwing up every morning.

He opened the door and saw Zoro frowning. “You look like shit Ero cook.”

“Fuck you.”

Sanji passed Zoro and went to the fridge. He opened it and took the milk and fresh water. Sanji went to the counter and took the eggs to prepare an omelet. He cracked the egg and started to turn on the cooking plate.

Zoro walked toward him. “You’re not okay, we have to tell Chopper.”

Sanji raised an eyebrow. “We? It’s not a we situation Marimo.”

“Yes, it is. Chopper will kill you because you hide it and kill me because I didn’t tell him three weeks ago when I found you throwing up your guts on the fucking floor. So yeah, this is we situation.”

Three weeks ago, Sanji hadn’t been fast enough to get to the bathroom. Zoro had found him on the floor with tears in his eyes, holding his stomach. Zoro had carried him in his arms to the bathroom and held his hair the entire time. The idiot had asked some questions but Sanji quickly dismissed them and thankfully Luffy arrived soon enough yelling about meat, forcing Zoro to back off.

“I’m fine.” The smell of the egg came to Sanji. He put his hand on his mouth, feeling a wave of nausea coming.

“Cook?” Zoro frowned. “You’re okay?”

Sanji nodded, still with his hand on his mouth. He clenched his grip on the counter. Zoro was already freaking out for nothing so if Sanji threw up again he would definitely go see Chopper.

Zoro put his hands on Sanji’s shoulder to gently move him. He made him sit on one of the bar chairs and finished cooking the omelet.

“Since when does the food smell bother you?”

Sanji put his hand on his belly. “It doesn't bother me.”

“Cook, every time you cook you look like you’re gonna throw up. Something is wrong.”

Fuck Zoro was right. Every smell even the one he liked would bring back the nausea.

“Is something wrong?”

Sanji raised his head and saw Chopper standing in the door frame with Usopp and Franky behind him. The young doctor walked toward him.

“Are you sick?”

Zoro and Sanji said in unison. “Yes.” “No.”

Sanji glared at Zoro. “I’m fine, Marimo is overreacting.”

“Idiot Cook is been throwing up for weeks.”

Chopper frowned “Weeks? Why haven’t you told me?”

Sanji bit his bottom lip. There were multiple answers but he knew Chopper wouldn’t like any of them.

First, he didn’t want to bother Chopper. The doctor has better things to do than to worry about Sanji. Then if Sanji was useless enough to get sick, he didn’t want to anyone waste time and should suck it up as Judge would say. Finally, Chopper would put him on bed rest and forbidden to work and if Sanji wasn’t cooking for his nakamas then Luffy wouldn’t have any reason to keep him in his crew and everyone would realize Sanji was useless.

It was already a miracle Luffy accepted Sanji back into the crew after he kicked him, his captain. Sanji couldn’t still believe it when the rest of the crew welcomed him back with open arms. Even Zoro who yet had been so firm with Usopp, only rolled his eye and said the situation was already over and Sanji shouldn’t worry about it when he tried to apologize for his actions.

Sanji tried to smile at Chopper but he knew it looked more like a grimace. “It’s nothing Chop, I’m fine. Don’t worry about it.”

Usopp and Franky entered. The sniper frowned. “If you’re not okay, you need to let Chopper check on you.”

“No, I’m okay I swear.” Sanji turned his head and mentally started to list everything he needed to do to finish breakfast. To his surprise, breakfast was nearly done. Zoro had practically finished cooking.

Zoro put a plate with an omelet and fruits in front of Sanji. “You need to eat.”

Sanji looked at the fruits. Zoro had peeled a tangerine, separated the slide, and had also put strawberries. Usually, Sanji didn’t like much the strawberries but right now he was craving them. How did Zoro know that?

“Thanks, Marimo.” He took one of the slides of the tangerines and ate it. Suddenly, a wave of nausea arrived and Sanji immediately covered his mouth.

Franky frowned. “Are you okay Sanji-bro?”

“You’re gonna throw up again Curly?”

Fuck, Zoro sounded worried. Sanji shook his head, still covering his mouth.

“Food! Sanji!” Luffy arrived running into the galley and stopped when he saw Sanji sitting with some of their nakamas around him. “Sanji? Are you alright?”

Sanji nodded. The nausea wasn’t passing. He hated being the center of attention and even more when people were worrying about him. Sanji wasn’t worth their time or attention.

Luffy walked toward him. “Sanji, if you’re not okay it’s fine. Zoro finished breakfast, you can rest.”

Sanji felt tears coming to his eyes. He was so useless. Maybe he should have stayed on Whole Cake. Luffy deserved a better cook than him.

Chopper put his hoof on his knee. “Come on Sanji, we’re going to see what’s wrong.”

Sanji followed Chopper while his nakamas started to sit and Zoro with Usopp’s help brought the plates to the tables.

He hoped his sickness wasn’t something too bad and would pass in the next few days.

— — —

It was bad.

It was so bad.

Sanji was sitting on the medical bed and closed his eyes. He opened them again and Chopper was still in front of him sitting on his chair holding his blood test.

“Can you repeat please but slower?”

Chopper nodded. “Sanji, you’re pregnant.”

So Sanji hadn’t imagined. Chopper had really said it.

Fucking hell.

Sanji was so fucked.

He had been born female and with Zeff's help, had transitioned. He was fifteen when he had his mastectomy. Ivan-san had proposed his finish his transition but Sanji had refused.

“How-how long?”

“You’re six months pregnant Sanji.” Chopper put his papers on his desk. “Do you know who the father is?”

Six months ago, the Straw Hat had been reunited on Sabaody. To celebrate it, Sanji and Zoro slept together in the crow's nest while the rest of their nakamas were asleep. Sanji hadn’t been able to walk properly for the next three days. That barbarian had covered his entire body from neck to ankles with bite marks and hickeys. More than half of them were on his legs, what the idiot was thinking? Zoro had been insatiable that night. Sanji thought he was going to die after the fifth round.

They weren’t dating, they just had a thing. They would have sex only a couple of times when they were either drunk, angry, or bored.

They had started sleeping together around Alabasta after Sanji realized he liked men thanks to Portgas D. Ace. Zoro hadn’t wanted a relationship, so when Sanji developed his romantic feelings toward him he kept them for himself. He knew Zoro barely appreciated him, he didn’t want to fuck up their relationship or mess up with the crew dynamic.

If those precious and rare intimate moments in the crow’s nest were the only intimacy Zoro would give him, Sanji wouldn’t take the risk of being greedy and losing the little glimpse of happiness he always dreamt of.

But now Sanji was pregnant. He clenched his fists. Zoro was going to be furious. The swordsman will think Sanji tried to baby-trap him and force him into a relationship. He couldn’t tell him. He couldn’t tell anyone.

Zoro was going to hate him.

“Sanji?”

He raised his head and saw Chopper frowning. Sanji swallowed. “It’s- it’s a guy from the Samba island.”

Chopper nodded and started writing. “So it’s after the Fish-Man island. And that means you were already pregnant at Punk Hazard.”

Sanji passed a hand on his belly. That would also mean he had been pregnant at Dressrosa, Whole Cake, and Wano. Sanji wanted to throw up. He had put his baby in so much danger because of his stupidity and carelessness.

“Shouldn’t my belly be bigger?” Sanji had seen pregnant women, and his stomach was flat for a six-month pregnancy.

“It’s because you were in denial. But now that you know, you will soon have a bigger belly. The baby will stop hiding close to your spine and will move to your stomach. Most likely you will wake up tomorrow morning with a six-month belly.”

Sanji nodded.

“Sanji, we have to tell the crew. Or at least Luffy. We can’t hide that. We have to be much careful now, for your and the baby's health.”

Sanji felt his blood freeze in his veins. How the others will react to the news? How Luffy and Zoro will react? What if Luffy didn’t want him and abandoned him because of his pregnancy? Sanji had become a burden now. He couldn’t put himself in danger like before anymore.

“I know.” No matter how much Sanji wanted to cry or lie, he couldn’t do it this time. His belly would soon be bigger and in three months he would give birth. And it wasn’t like he could hide a baby on the Sunny.

Sanji refused to even think about abandoning his baby. Even if the baby wasn’t planned and a total surprise, the baby was still his and Zoro's. Sanji would never give up on them. He would rather die. Sanji had been careless and it was now time to face the consequences.

He looked at the clock. “It’s nearly lunchtime. I’ll tell them at that time.”

Chopper nodded with a smile.

He stood up and went in the direction of the door. He stopped when Chopper called him.

“Sanji, I forgot to tell you but congratulations. If you want we can stop at an island and see if we can do an echography.”

Sanji nodded with a smile. “We will have to see with Nami-san and Luffy if we can. Thank you.”

He still hadn’t decided if the news Chopper had announced was the best or the worst of his life.

“Oh, and Sanji, you have to stop smoking for the baby's health.”

Fucking shit.

— — —

The cook was fucking weird. Zoro kept an eye on every one of his nakamas, it was his job to protect them and kill anybody who would try to harm them. Usopp had called him a mother-hen but he had every right to be worried. Cook has been throwing up for the past three weeks and maybe more but of course that idiot wouldn’t tell anyone.

Zoro wasn’t a doctor but if you’ve been throwing up for weeks every morning then something was fucking wrong.

After breakfast, Zoro took his nap on the deck with the infirmary door in view. Chopper and Curly were now in it for the past four hours. He sighed. His observation haki wasn’t as good as the cook so he couldn’t hear anything precisely.

Suddenly, Curly left the infirmary and went directly to the galley without spending a glance at anyone.

Zoro knew he wouldn’t be welcomed and most likely be kicked so he waited for Luffy and later Nami to check on him not wanting to upset the cook even more.

Luffy went first and left the galley five minutes later. He walked toward Zoro. “Sanji says he’s fine.”

“But you think he’s lying.”

Luffy shrugged. “He will tell us when he’s ready. He promised to not leave again and Chopper said he was not sick. Sanji will be fine, don’t worry Zoro.”

“I’m not worrying.”

Luffy snorted, not believing his lie, and went back sitting on the Sunny head. Before closing his eye, Zoro saw Nami going into the galley. Maybe she will have more chance since the cook couldn’t for the life of him lie to her.

Ten minutes later Nami left the galley. She sat next to Zoro. “He said he wasn’t sick.”

“But?”

“But he looked worried. He was preparing lunch and from time to time put his hand on his belly. What if he’s sick and it’s uncurable?”

“Chopper told Luffy Curly wasn’t sick. Curly said to both Luffy and you, he wasn’t sick. You think Chopper would lie to Luffy and Curly to you?”

“No but, it’s not normal.”

Zoro shrugged. “Luffy said he will be fine and tell us when he’s ready.”

Nami nodded and went back to her reading on one of the deck chairs next to Robin. A bit later, Cook opened the door of the galley. “Lunch is ready.”

All of the Straw Hat went in and sat at their places. Curly put the plates on the tables and they started eating together.

Zoro had spent the entire lunch watching Sanji. The cook was on edge and wouldn’t stop sending looks in Luffy’s direction. He hoped the idiot wasn’t seriously sick.

At the end of the meal, Sanji nervously played with his fingers. “I have an announcement to make.”

Oh shit. Sanji was severely sick and his days were counted. Why did Zoro wait to call Chopper? He knew Sanji was sick, he should have convinced or dragged that idiot to the infirmary sooner.

The rest of the table was silent and looking at Sanji. Only Chopper was smiling.

Sanji took a deep breath. “I’m pregnant.”

Then chaos begins in the galley. Nami and Usopp started asking questions while Franky, Robin, Brook, and Jimbei congratulated him. Only Zoro and Luffy were silent.

Luffy tilted his head. “Does that mean you have a baby in your belly?”

Nami sighed “Yes Luffy, that’s mean Sanji has a baby in his belly.”

“Oh, so that’s why I felt a presence.”

Sanji frowned like the rest of their nakamas. “What?”

Luffy shrugged. “A couple of weeks ago, a bit before we met Troaro I started feeling one more presence on the ship but I thought it was the transponder snail.”

Sanji's eyes widened while Robin nodded. “You must have felt the baby with your observation haki.”

Nami shook her head with a smile. “What are we going to do with you Luf? Only you Luffy felt a presence and thought it was the snail. Only you.”

Zoro started to feel a blush growing on his cheek. Fuck. He had thought it was the transponder snail too. Every time he felt the presence, it was in the galley and most of the time the two living forms in it were Sanji and the transponder snail. So of course he thought it was the damn snail too.

Like Luffy, he had started to feel it before meeting Troaro. Around that time, to celebrate their reunion, Zoro had sex with Sanji. He had missed the cook during those two years. He had spent the whole night rediscovering Sanji’s body making him whimpering and trembling under his hands and mouth.

Holy shit. Was Sanji expecting his child?

Was Zoro going to be a dad?

Holy fucking hell.

Zoro can’t take his eye off Sanji. His hands were on his belly, could he feel the baby yet?

How are they gonna name their child? If it’s a girl, Sanji would probably want to name her after his mother. Curly had briefly spoken about her one night after the war on Wano. Zoro didn’t know much about Sora but Zoro will be forever grateful to her.

Shit, what if it was a boy? Zoro didn’t know much about boys' names and he had a feeling Curly wouldn’t want their son to be named Wado, Kitetsu, Shushui, or Enma. Maybe they could name him after Pedro. The mink had been a good friend to them and he had sacrificed his life for Sanji to be safe.

Fuck, what if Sanji was pregnant with twins? He was a quadruplet, right? So maybe he was waiting for twins. What if it was twin girls? Zoro needed to send a letter to Shimotsuki-sensei and ask for his blessing so he could name his daughter Kuina.

Maybe they could get married. Roronoa Sanji. Zoro smiled at the idea. He liked that a lot. Sanji wouldn’t be sad or angry anymore when he saw the Vinsmoke name on his bounty poster.

Zoro was going to be a dad.

He felt warmth growing into his body. Sanji had never wanted a romantic relationship with him so Zoro always kept his feelings in check not wanting to lose the only intimacy Sanji wanted to share with him. He knew Sanji would never love him back, he made his point pretty clear. But now that Sanji was expecting their child, everything changed.

He just hoped Sanji would tolerate him and let Zoro be in their child's life.

Zoro blinked and suddenly he realized he was alone in the galley. Sanji was there too, doing the dishes. He stood up and went next to the cook. They started doing the dishes together, felling in their routine once again.

Zoro wiped clean the last plate. He cleared his throat. He knew he was the dad but he needed to hear it from Sanji. Maybe he could give his suggestions on the name. “So, you’re pregnant?”

Sanji flinched. He turned his back toward Zoro and started pulling the plate in the cupboard.

Zoro couldn’t stop himself from smiling. “I’m the dad?” he was already starting to imagine their future child. Would they have his green hair or Sanji’s blond hair? Would they have curly eyebrows? Zoro only wanted them to have Sanji’s blue eyes. His eyes were so beautiful.

He briefly wondered if they would want to be swordsmen like him or prefer cooking like Sanji.

“No.”

Zoro blinked. “What?”

“You’re not the dad.”

Sanji’s voice was weird but right now Zoro didn’t pay attention. He felt his world crash. “What do you mean?” He knew they weren’t exclusive or in a relationship but Zoro hadn’t seen Sanji with anybody else.

“I said you’re not the dad idiot Moss or did you become deaf?”

Zoro felt his mouth going dry. “Who then?”

It couldn’t be one of the Straw Hat, Franky was deeply in love with Robin, Brook was a skeleton, Usopp only loved Kaya, Luffy didn’t like sex and Jimbei wasn’t there then. He had felt the presence before Punk Hazard so it couldn’t be Troaro.

“A guy I meet at the bar on the Samba Island.”

Zoro felt his heart stink. The Straw Hat was moored at the Samba island for two days for supplies after the Fish-Man island. They had spent the evening at a bar to celebrate their entry into the New World. Zoro had seen Sanji drunkenly flirt with a guy. He had felt the green jealousy rising in him when he saw the guy had put his hand on Sanji’s tight and the cook was bright red and laughed. Zoro left the bar after he saw Sanji follow the guy into the bathroom and slept in the crow’s nest for the rest of the week.

“You’re fucking kidding right?”

Sanji who was still back to him shook his head. “I slept with him and now I’m pregnant, that’s all.”

Zoro swallowed. Something was wrong. He knew Sanji like he knew his katanas. Curly never showed his back to him while talking even when he was cooking he would always look at Zoro. “That’s all? I don’t believe you.”

Sanji clenched his hands. “What do you want me to say? We were dunk, we fucked. We’re not together mosshead I don’t owe you anything.”

Zoro bites his bottom lips. Fuck it hurt. He clenched his grip on Wado.

“Now leave me alone, I have to clean up the galley and you’re bothering me.”

Despite what Sanji said, none of them moved. Zoro was so angry and upset. How stupid he could have been? How could he have thought he had a chance to build the family he always dreamt of with Sanji

Sanji deserved better than a loud barbarian unwashed idiot moss like him.

Zoro left the galley slamming the door. He directly went to the crow’s nest and tried to calm his breathing. He closed his eye trying to keep the traitorous tears to himself.

He tried to calm his breathing and activated his observation haki. Hearing the heartbeat of his nakamas helped him to meditate. He could hear Luffy, Nami, Chopper, Robin, Usopp, Brook, Jimbei, and Franky. Then he heard Cook’s chaotic beating and tears. Then he heard another heartbeat. A tenth one.

Thump.Thump.Thump.Thump.

It was fast but calm and regular while Cook’s was messy.

Zoro kept his eye closed and focused on the heartbeat. He calmed his breathing and relaxed. He fell asleep listening to the heartbeat of the baby who wasn’t his.

— — —

It’s been a week since Sanji announced the news to the crew. As Chopper had supposed, the next day of the announcement Sanji’s belly had grown bigger. Now every morning and night, the Straw Hat would greet both Sanji and the baby.

His nakamas liked talking to the baby but Luffy loved it. When Sanji was resting on the deck, Luffy would sit next to him and talk about his day or their previous adventures to the baby.

Luffy and Nami gladly agreed to stop at the closest island to see an obstetrician so Chopper and Sanji could make sure the baby was okay.

The appointment had been great, Sanji had seen the baby on the screen of the echography. He had cried when he heard the heartbeat. Now a picture of the baby was hanging on the fridge. Sanji had decided not to know the sex of the baby, and Sanji wanted to keep the surprise. He hadn’t thought about names either and for now, the baby was called Broccoli.

Zeff had been ecstatic when Sanji announced him during one of their weekly calls. Sanji had heard him yelling that he was going to be a grandfather and the rest of the Baratie’s cook came congratulated him.

Sanji passed his hand on his belly. Broccoli moved a lot now. They would kick and punch but only when Sanji was with the rest of the Straw Hat. It was like Broccoli was excited and wanted to spend time with them.

In the afternoon, Sanji started preparing the snacks. Today he was craving scrambled eggs with cheese and ham. Luffy and Chopper had both told him that now, Sanji was the priority for the meals and snacks and needed to eat before them and double his ration.

He took fruits and started cutting them. After Sanji finished the cakes, drinks, and fruits, he raised his head to see if his nakamas were all on the deck and saw a glimpse of green in the crow’s nest.

Since the announcement, Zoro hadn’t left the crow’s nest except for the bathroom. For the meals, one of them, but never Sanji would bring him a plate or he would wait for Sanji to be out to come in the galley.

Zoro and he hadn’t spoken to each other since that day. Zoro was mad at him and he had every right. He had been careless and should have now better. Now, Sanji was a burden. Of course, Zoro would be angry at him. He couldn’t fight like before because Luffy had refused to put Sanji in danger and ordered him to stay on the ship or inside the galley when there would be a fight.

Sanji passed his hand on his belly and Broccoli kicked. He smiled “You’re kicking a lot today.” and looked back at the crow’s nest. Zoro was training with his weights. He caressed his belly. “Your idiot dada is going to be hungry. He better finish his plate or I’ll kick his ass.”

He left the galley holding the plates and went to the girls first.

“Here Nami-swan and Robin-chan.”

Nami smiled. “Thank you, do you want me to bring Zoro his plate?”

“No thank you darling I’ll be fine. Thank you for your asking my sweet goddess.”

Sanji finished serving and went to the crow’s nest. He knocked and opened the door. Zoro was now sitting on one of the couches watching the sea. Sanji walked toward him and put the plate next to Zoro.

“You better eat everything Mosshead.” Sanji turned and walked in the direction of the door.

“Was he more gentle?”

Sanji stopped his track. “Sorry?”

“The guy. Was he more gentle? You complained more than once that I was too rough.”

Sanji stilled. He put his arms around his belly to cover it. Broccoli punched and kicked. He needed to leave quickly.

“Was he more romantic? You talked to him for what like two hours, did he have the time to bring you flowers or to the restaurant?” Zoro snorted “Do you even know his name? I bet you were so drunk you don’t remember anything. You claim you’re a romantic guy and shit but in reality, if a guy just offers you two drinks he wins your heart or more your body. Are you going to abandon us again to live and marry him without knowing him? Wouldn’t be the first time.”

Sanji felt tears coming to his eyes. “You’re being mean Zoro.” He bent his head and left the crow’s nest before Zoro could see his tears.

If on his way to leave, Sanji saw Zoro rubbing his eye, he didn’t care.

— — —

Sanji was sat on one of the couches of the aquarium bar. He didn’t want to see anyone and he felt overwhelmed in the galley. He caressed his belly watching the fish swimming. Broccoli had been quiet since the whole fiasco with Zoro.

Sanji heard the door opening and turned his head. He saw Robin smiling at him and sat next to him holding a book and a plate with cups of tea.

“I saw you exit the crow’s nest, I thought you would like some tea.”

Sanji smiled. “You’re too kind. Thank you.”

Robin opened her book and started reading while Sanji drank his tea. After two pages she closed it. “You seem tormented. Are you okay Sanji?”

Sanji bites his inside cheek. “Zoro is mad at me.”

“I’m sure he will come around. I briefly saw him yesterday, he seemed hurt and angry.”

“It’s my fault.” Sanji tried to keep his tears to himself, he didn’t want to cry in front of Robin-chan and neither worry her.

Sanji had lied to avoid Zoro’s wrath but he had brilliantly failed.

Robin softly smiled “I’m sure there is nothing to worry about. Zoro can never stay mad at you for too long. You two are Luffy’s wings, you might fight sometimes but nothing can separate you.”

“It’s different this time.”

Sanji looked away and wiped his tears. Robin tilted her head and put her hands on his knee. “It’s not just about Zoro isn’t it?”

He caressed his belly and bent his head. Sanji whispered. “I’m so scared. What if I’m a bad father? What if I hurt them as Judge hurted me? What if I’m like my father?”

“You won’t be.”

Sanji shook his head. “You don’t know that.”

“I know that.” Robin gently took Sanji’s chin with her fingers to raise his head so he could see her. “Judge had been a horrible father but you seem to forgot that he’s not your only father. You’re more Zeff’s son than you will ever be Judge’s. I didn’t meet him, but from what I have heard, he seems a great and kind man. And I know you Sanji. You’re kind. One of the kindest people I know. I’m confident that you will be a kind father.”

Sanji felt a tear rolling on his cheek. “What if I can’t take care of them? What if I screw up?”

“You won’t be alone Sanji. Your baby will be our nakamas just as much as you and we protect and care about our nakamas. Do you think Luffy would give up on one of his nakamas? You and I personally both know he wouldn’t give up.”

Sanji chuckled. “You’re right as always Robin-chan but I think I should ask Luffy before.”

“Ask me what?”

They turned their head and saw Luffy in the frame of the door eating his meat snacks.

Robin smiled, “Sanji was wondering if Broccoli would be our nakamas.”

Luffy took another bite and swallowed. “Of course they are!” he walked toward them and he crouched in front of Sanji. He smiled at his belly. “I can't wait to meet you Broccoli, we will spend so many adventures together.”

Sanji smiled. “Broccoli punched so I think they’re excited too.”

Luffy beamed at the belly, then he looked at Sanji and tilted his head. “Sanji looks tired. You should go rest and take a nap. It’ll be good for you and Broccoli.”

Sanji nodded with a smile. “Aye aye Captain.” he looked at Robin “Thank you Robin-chan, I don’t know what I would do without you.”

He left the aquarium bar in the direction of the captain’s room. Franky had initially built it for Luffy but their captain preferred sleeping in the men’s room. When Sanji announced his pregnancy, Luffy gave him the room claiming he needed more space and quiet.

The room was spacious. There was a big bed, a wardrobe, and a nightstand. Sanji took off his shoes and lay down on the bed. He caressed his belly. “I hope your dada will forgive me one day.”

Broccoli didn’t move. Usually, they loved kicking or punching when Sanji was talking, their silence made Sanji’s skin crawl.

He closed his eyes and slowly fell asleep hearing the sound of the waves and his nakamas laugh or voice.

Sanji woke up when he heard a knock. He sat on the bed and rubbed his eyes. “Come in.” It was probably Robin or Chopper checking on him.

The door opened slowly and Sanji tried to not gasp when he saw Zoro enter. At first, Sanji thought the Mosshead had come to spit his venom again but he was holding a tray with a plate, a glass, cutlery, and flowers in a vase.

Oh shit. Did he miss dinner?

Zoro advanced still holding the tray. He blushed. “Luf and Robin said you were tired. Chopper said you needed to rest so we decided to not wake you up for dinner. Usopp and I managed to do it. Robin and Nami wanted to help but I refused. I knew that you would have killed me if I made them work in your kitchen.”

“Of course, I would have. Nami-san and Robin-chan are goddesses, they shouldn’t work.”

Zoro snorted. He shifted from one foot to another. “I made seafood spicy pasta. I know it’s your favorite so I thought you would have liked it. I followed your recipe. Well, I tried. You have a shitty handwriting idiot cook.”

“My handwriting is good thank you very much Moss of brain.”

Zoro softly smiled. He advanced again and handed the tray. Sanji took it and put it on his lap. The idiot had used Sanji’s finest silverware. The plate was full, Zoro had probably doubled the portion and the flowers were cute.

Zoro rubbed the back of his neck, face red. “Chopp said you need to eat more so I doubled the portion. For the flowers, there is a dandelion, which means happiness and health. There is a hydrangea that represents family, the daisies are for a new beginning and the lilies are for devotion.”

Sanji brushed gently the petals of the different flowers with a smile. “Did Robin-chan tell you that?”

“No. I know that.” Zoro blushed even more, he looked exactly like one of the tomatoes Sanji had in the kitchen.”Pinkie kept kidnapping me and forced me to help her and Mihawk to make bouquets for Shanks every time he was visiting.”

Sanji smirked. “You mean your older sister taught you.”

“She’s not my sister for fuck’s sake!”

Sanji snorted. “Tell her that.”

Perona loved messing with Zoro even more than him. She called every two weeks demanding to talk to her little brother to take his news and talk about their dad even if Zoro claimed Mihawk wasn’t their dad.

Zoro sat on the bed. He bent his head. “Cook. About earlier. I’m sorry. I was a jackass and I shouldn’t have said that.”

Sanji swallowed. “You were really mean.”

“I know I’m sorry. You left to protect us and your old man, I shouldn’t have thrown it back to your face. It wasn’t fair to you. Robin told me to apologize. Wado tried to strangle me after you left.”

“Really? Did Kitestu or Enma do anything?”

When Zoro had first told him he could talk or see the spirit of his swords, Sanji had thought the marimo had drunk his whole alcohol collection and had become insane. After a whole check-up from Chopper and declaring that the idiot Moss was still sane (for now), Zoro explained a little bit more. Wado was small, barely reaching his waist with long blue hair. According to Zoro, they looked like a child because Wado was the younger one. Kitetsu was more like a cocky teenager tall enough to research Zoro’s shoulder with short dark hair while Enma was a calm adult in their fifties with long purple hair.

“Kitestu rooted for them and Enma asked if I was always dumb.”

“I’m glad to see your swords have my back. Thank you guys.”

Zoro smiled shily. “Like I said, I’m really sorry. It won’t happen again.”

“It’s okay Moss, I forgive you.”

“Thanks. You should eat before it’s cold.”

Sanji nodded with a smile and started eating. The pasta was well cooked, the sauce and spicy were good too and the seafood was well done.

“Not bad stupid Marimo.”

“I just followed your recipe, Idiot Cook.”

Sanji softly laughed and continued eating. Zoro had done well. Tomorrow Sanji will need to apologize for failing his duty and make up for it. Maybe his nakamas would not hold it against him if he made their favorite meals. Apparently, it’s Luffy who told the others to let him rest and Luffy was very strict about taking breaks or naps. Sanji got out of his day dreaming of the future meals he needed to make by Zoro’s worried voice.

“Cook. Your belly is moving.”

Sanji frowned. He bent his hand and looked at his belly. He could see it moving. Sanji smiled. “It’s just Broccoli moving, we’re fine moss.”

“Broccoli? What the fuck Curly?”

“I don’t want to know the gender yet so I nicknamed them Broccoli.” Sanji blushed. “Zeff calls me Eggplant and his dad would call him Potatoe. I guess I just wanted to keep the tradition.” Sanji caressed his belly. “You want to feel them?”

Sanji didn’t like when people touched his belly but if someone could be the exception, it had to be Zoro.

Zoro frowned. “You’re sure? I don’t want to hurt you or them.”

Sanji rolled his eyes. “Don’t worry Moss.” he took Zoro’s hand and pulled up his sweater showing his belly. Zoro’s hand was warm and calloused. Sanji put it on his belly and slowly moved the hand. “So, there is the head, their hands, chest, legs, and foot”

Zoro pulled out his hand quickly, and his eye locked on Sanji’s belly. “I felt something.”

“It’s their hand silly.”

Sanji took back his hand and put it on his belly. He felt Broccoli place their hand against Zoro’s with only Sanji’s skin separating them. Sanji wanted to burst into tears. He dreamt so many nights about this moment. Lying to Zoro was so hard but Sanji had to. He couldn’t trap Zoro into a life he didn’t want to, especially with Sanji. Zoro deserved better.

Zoro pulled out his hand and stood up abruptly, breaking the magical moment. He brought his hand to his chest, just above his heart, and turned his back on Sanji.

“You need rest Cook, I’m gonna leave you two alone. Night.” and left the room without looking back.

Sanji finished his meal with tears in his eyes. For one moment, everything was perfect.

When he finished eating, he put the tray on the ground. He lay down on his side and caressed his belly.

“Your dada is a bit rough but he cares a lot. I hope you will have his smile and nose. It’s shorter than mine. I hope you will like sweets more than him. I noticed your dada had freckles on his nose and cheeks. I bet it’s because he kept napping on the deck under the sun. I wonder if you will have them too.”

Sanji felt tears coming to his eyes. Damn hormones.

“I just hope he will love you more than he loves me. You know, it’s not his fault. I’m difficult to love and your dada deserves better than a foolish weak cook like me.” Sanji felt tears rolling down his cheeks. “I hope you will be strong and brave like your dada, but smile and laugh a bit more okay? Dada doesn't smile or laugh enough for your Papa’s liking. He’s so pretty when he does it.”

Broccoli kicked as if he was agreeing to what Sanji had just said.

He fell asleep, hearing Broccoli’s heartbeat with in mind the image of Zoro’s smile when he had his hand on his belly.

— — —

Zoro was acting weird. Ever since that night when he put his hand on Sanji’s belly, Zoro was weird and Sanji was convinced. It started after Zoro’s apology. The next morning, Sanji got up at five like every morning, did his morning routine, and went to the galley. When he opened the door, he was surprised by Zoro.

The swordsman was in the kitchen preparing breakfast. He turned at the sound of the door and froze when he saw Sanji.

“What the fuck are you doing Cook?”

“I came preparing breakfast, what the fuck are you doing here? The kitchen is my kingdom, not yours, get out and go back to the crow’s nest!”

“You need to fucking rest Curly, let me handle this!”

“Fuck no!” Sanji advanced but Zoro blocked the way to the counter. “Mosshead, I might be pregnant but I still can kick your ass.”

“You need to rest, Chopper said so. Let me finish breakfast, I’m almost done.”

Sanji felt anger growing in him. “I’m pregnant, not half dead. I can still cook.”

I’m still useful. I still have my place here. Let me do something idiot.

If Marimo could cook, if anyone could replace him, then did Sanji still have a purpose among the Straw Hat? Could Sanji still sail with his nakamas? Was Zoro implicitly telling him to leave?

Sanji felt the tears coming to his eyes and busted into tears. He wiped his tears but he couldn’t stop himself from crying. Sanji put his hands on his face and tried to hide himself. It was so humiliating.

He could never face Zoro again. Sanji was so weak.

“Fuck! Cook why are you crying? Look how about you go back to your room and lay down for a minute?”

Sanji sobbed even harder. So now he couldn’t even stay in the kitchen? Was he so much of a burden that he couldn’t even be in the room anymore? Zoro hated him that much?

“Curly why are you crying?” Zoro muttered. “Wado please stop screaming in my head and let Enma talk for two seconds.” a minute passed. “Hormones? Fuck! Okay, Curly it’s okay, you can stay, just give me your hands.” Zoro took his hands and led him to the dinner table. He left Sanji alone and brought him back a tray with a plate. He blushed. “I didn’t get time to finish your breakfast but here.”

Sanji calmed down and wiped his tears. In front of him, there was a tray with a bowl of miso soup, steamed rice, and fried egg.

“I didn’t get the time to grill the fish, sorry.”

There was also a flower in a vase. It didn’t look like the previous night that Sanji had gently put on the nightstand. This time, they were pink and white. Sanji brushed the petals.

“What it is?”

Zoro blushed even more. “It’s carnation. It means love.”

“Oh.” Sanji looked back at the food. His eyes watered again.

Zoro’s eye widened. “Shit, did I do something wrong? I followed your recipes and I’m really sorry about the fish. I can grill one quick.” he muttered and put his hands on Wado and Kitetsu’s handle. “I know stop yelling in my head you two.”

Sanji wiped his tears. “It’s so sweet. Thank you. It’s just- I want to cook. Why can’t you let me cook? I want to be useful.”

“You are.” Zoro nodded. “Of fucking course you are useful. With the others, we’re worried you would try to overwork yourself and right now, Broccoli needs you more than us. How about you cook but you let me help? Okay?”

“Okay.”

Zoro smiled “I’m gonna continue cooking and you eat breakfast, and join me after.” and left Sanji.

Sanji started eating and fuck Marimo was good. He kept eating until he realized something was wrong. Something was missing. Sanji kept thinking about it until he understood that something was missing.

Zoro was completely silent. He wasn’t wearing his boots and walked barefoot. Sanji couldn’t hear the familiar sound of his boots when he was walking. He was gently opening the cupboard when usually Zoro wouldn’t care and slam the door. When he spoke, Zoro did it calmly, it was like he was trying to make his voice quieter.

Why did Zoro changed? Zoro was loud and it was something Sanji loved. He would kick and slam doors. His heavy footsteps could be heard on the opposite of the ship. His voice was loud and deep.

The silence of the kitchen reminded Sanji of the cells of the dungeon where he spent so many weeks as a child.

Zoro’s silence made his skin crawl.

“Stop it.”

Zoro hummed. “Sorry?”

“Stop being so silent.”

“But you hate it when I’m too loud in your kitchen. I thought you would like it better.” Sanji could hear the confusion in Zoro’s voice.

Zoro was gentle now. He was calm. He was patient with him. Zoro was silent.

Why was he acting like that? It was like Zoro was trying to change. Why? Why?

Sanji loved Zoro’s loudness, yes he complained about it but it was to piss the Moss off, and pissing him off was Sanji’s favorite hobby. Zoro never second-guessed anything and just acted before thinking, unlike Sanji. It was something Sanji admired about him.

Why did Zoro was trying to stop being the man that Sanji loved more than life itself?

Sanji clenched his fists. “Well stop thinking because you're clearly wrong idiot Moss. Stop being silent and put your goddamn boots on.”

He heard Zoro mutter under his breath, probably talking to his swords, and put back his boots.

Sanji smiled and let out a breath when he heard Zoro slam a door, swearing and the sound of his boots against the wooden plank of the galley.

Zoro was loud and brash and Sanji loved it.

In the following days and until Sanji gave birth, Zoro was always in the kitchen helping Sanji. Every time they moored at an island, Zoro would buy and give him flowers. Sometimes he would explain the signification and other times not. One time he even brought Sanji to the restaurant.

Lying to him about Broccoli was getting harder and harder as much time passed.

Zoro was more gentle and Sanji would dare say romantic.

But why on earth Zoro would do that? It was like he was wooing Sanji but why? It wasn’t like Zoro was in love with Sanji.

— — —

When Sanji gave birth, it was definitely not the best time. The last months of the pregnancy went and passed quickly. Sanji and the Straw Hat announced the happy news about the pregnancy to their allies and friends but unfortunately, their enemies also got the happy news.

The second Troaro learned about the pregnancy, he called to tell them he and his crew could help Chopper and Sanji with the labor. The two crews meet at the Shinsho archipelago island. The archipelago was perfect, it was one of the Heart territories, and the climate was warm but not too much. The spring island was beautiful with a lush forest and so many kinds of fish.

The only problem had been the marines attacking them. There were two battleships with vice admirals. Sanji was in the galley with Nami while the others were fighting.

“I want to fight.”

“Sanji, don’t be ridiculous, your term is at the end of the week, stay here.”

“The Sunny is my home too. I want to fight to protect it. It’s my job to protect our home and crew.” Sanji advanced toward the door.

“Sanji!” Nami blocked him. “Our priority is to protect the ship, your priority is to protect Broccoli. So you stay there.”

Sanji was about to argue when he felt something wet on his feet. He looked down and saw a puddle on his shoes and the wooden plank of the galley.

“Nami-san.”

“One second Sanji.” Nami-san opened the door to let out Zeus and attack some marines before closing it again.

Sanji could hear Luffy’s laugh and the fight not stopping. He saw a flash of light and it was either Zoro, Brook, or Franky attacking. Usopp was the closet one, with Chopper protecting the stairs that would lead to the kitchen.

“Nami-san.”

“Sanji just one second.” Nami kept looking through the window door. Sanji didn’t know what was happening but right now he didn’t care about the fight.

“Nami-san.”

“Yes, Sanji what?”

Sanji looked up and looked at her. “I think my water broke.”

Nami’s eyes widened.

“I think Broccoli is coming Nami-san.”

Nami’s hands started to shake. “Holy shit!” she opened the door and yelled. “Troaro! Chopper! It’s Broccoli!”

Sanji heard Zoro swear and asked what was going on and if they were okay. Troaro and Chopper replaced two chairs in the galley and went to him.

Chopper frowned. “Are you okay?”

Sanji shook his head. “I’m in pain but it’s manageable now.”

Traoro nodded. “We need to prepare the table now.”

Sanji grabbed Traoro’s forearms. “I’m not going into labor and give birth to Broccoli in my damn kitchen.”

Troaro sighed. “Fine. Just hang on.” and teleport Sanji, Chopper, and Nami into the submarine.

After five hours of labor, Sanji could finally rest. Nami-san stayed by his side the entire time holding his hand while Chopper and Troaro helped him to give birth.

Sanji rests his head against the pillow. He closed his eyes and smiled. He can hear Broccoli’s cries. His baby is born. He’s so happy. It had been hard and painful but it had made it. Penguin and Sashi didn’t have time to give him any medicine to stop the pain because Broccoli was too excited to meet the world and come out quickly.

Then Sanji felt something was wrong. He opened his eyes and saw Nami-san looking at Troaro back. Traoro had been the one picking up his baby, his little Broccoli, to take care of them.

“Is something wrong?”

No one was speaking. Chopper was by Traoro's side not moving only watching Traoro taking care of his baby.

Sanji looked back at Nami-san. She was completely frozen. He gently tightened his grip on her hand. “What’s wrong? Is Broccoli okay?”

Broccoli was still crying and nobody was fucking speaking.

“Why is no one answering me? Is my baby okay?”

Oh god, what if Broccoli wasn’t okay? What if Broccoli was sick or something was wrong with them because of Sanji? What if Sanji somehow screwed up and now Broccoli wasn’t okay because of him?

Sanji couldn’t breathe. He needed to see his baby now. In the distance, Sanji heard the heart monitor accelerate.

“Traoro I want my baby now.”

“Just a minute Black-leg-ya.”

“No, I want my baby now.” Sanji couldn’t beather. He needed to hold them, to see if they were okay.

Traoro picked up the baby and wrapped them into a blanket. He walked toward Sanji and gave them to him. “Congrats Black-leg-ya, it’s girl. She’s healthy and the first tests are good.”

Sanji takes his daughter in his arms and can’t stop smiling. He has a daughter. She’s so beautiful.

“Sanji.”

He can’t tear his eyes off her, scared she would disappear if he didn’t look at her.

Nami-san spoke again. “Sanji. What the hell?”

Sanji feels tears coming to his eyes. Broccoli keeps crying and Sanji silently joins her.

“Sanji, you have to tell him.”

For his nakamas, Broccoli’s dad was just a one-night stand that Sanji had forgotten. They had supported him and some of them, mostly Luffy and Nami-san wanted to go back to the Samba Island and find him. Every time they would have that discussion, Zoro always left the room. Sanji would stop them saying he didn’t remember the guy and it would be a waste of time.

He gently brushed the few hairs she had and brushed her cheek with his thumb.

“Sanji, you can’t lie anymore. It’s not fair. Not for you, not for him, and not for her.”

Broccoli was perfect. Sanji let out a sob. He had never been so happy in his life.

“Sanji. You have to tell Zoro.”

Sanji wiped his tears and kept looking at Broccoli. She was small and her fists clenched. She wouldn’t stop moving or crying. Broccoli looked like both of them.

She had her papa’s curly eyebrows and her dada’s green hair.

Nami-san was right. Sanji had to tell Zoro he was the father of a little girl.

— — —

It’s been a week and Broccoli wouldn’t stop crying. The days passed and Sanji tried everything. He tried feeding her, singing songs, changing the diapers, and rocking her. Everything.

Sanji wasn’t the only one trying. All of his nakamas tried too, Luffy and Usopp made funny faces, Nami-san, and Robin-chan or Jimbei read stories, Brook and Franky played songs, Chopper triple-checked her, and she was in perfect health. Everyone tried calming her but Broccoli wouldn’t stop crying.

Well. Everyone except Zoro.

Since Broccoli’s birth, Zoro hadn’t put a foot in the infirmary where Sanji and Broccoli had been staying since her birth. Sanji had seen more than one time his left boots when someone would open or close the door. Nami-san had told him that Zoro spent most of his day and night sitting against the wall next to the door like a guardian dog.

None of the Straw Hat commented on Broccoli’s green hair nor told Zoro.

One day, Sanji woke up slowly. He could hear the waves and wind. Luffy had decided on Chopper’s opinion that it was the best to start sailing once Broccoli was one month old.

Sanji woke up without hearing any crying or screaming and welcomed the beloved silence he had missed.

He jolted. Since Broccoli was born, his daughter practically never stopped crying so why would she now?

Oh god. What if someone took his baby while he was sleeping? Did the attacker pass Zoro? How?

Sanji brutally sat in the bed and frenetically looked around the room ready to shout after someone.

“Broccoli!”

“Shh. It’s okay. You’re okay, you’re safe.”

Snaji frozen. Zoro was bare chest, only wearing his pants, haramaki, and boots. His coat, sash, and swords were on the chair next to Sanji. He was walking slowly in the infirmary gently rocking Broccoli. She was so small in his arms he only needed one to carry her. Zoro whispered reassurance words to her. Broccoli was fiercely holding his index from his free hand, looking at him completely in awe. Her other hand was stretched out probably wanting to touch his earrings.

Sanji felt his heart swollen with love and happiness. Broccoli wasn’t crying and Zoro looked at her with pride and love.

Zoro raised his head and saw Sanji looking at him. His smile fell and blushed “Hey Cook. Sorry, she was crying and no one was up, I thought I could try to help. Chopper once said that babies needed skin-on-skin contact and Enma said the same so I thought it could be a good idea. I can give her back to you if you want.” He advanced Broccoli toward Sanji and he saw her eyes watering in seconds.

“No, it’s okay. You succeeded in making her stop crying, thank you. We’ve been trying for days.”

Zoro shrugged. “It’s nothing big.”

“Believe me it is.”

Zoro didn’t respond and looked back at Broccoli. He softly smiled at her and brushed her cheek with his index still captured by her. “She’s cute. What’s her name? The others didn’t tell me.” Zoro stopped walking and looked at Sanji frowning. “Cook, don’t tell me you’re naming her Broccoli because if you do I’m gonna kick your ass.”

Sanji snorted. “Of course not.” he nervously played with his fingers. “I wanted to name her Sora. You like it?”

Sanji hadn’t told anyone about the name. He wanted to tell Zoro first. Even though Zoro didn’t know his new parenthood because of his lies, Sanji still wanted him to know first and to like their daughter’s name.

Zoro smiled at the baby. “Sora? Like your mom. It’s pretty. I like it.” he beamed at her. “Hi, Sora. I’m happy to meet you.”

Sanji felt tears coming to his eyes. “You like her?”

Zoro looked at Sanji frowning and back to Sora. He shrugged. “She’s nakamas, I will always protect her and keep her safe.” He pinched his lips. “Also of course I love her. She’s a part of you and I could never not love a part of you.”

Sanji felt his tears rolling down his cheeks. “She’s a part of you too.”

Zoro raised his head to look at him so fast that Sanji thought he would have whiplash. “What?”

“I lied. I’m so sorry Zoro.”

“What-what the fuck are you saying, Cook? This is not funny.”

“She’s- Sora is your daughter. I lied about the guy.”

“I saw you going to the bathroom with him.”

Sora whined. She must have felt her parents' distress.

“We only kissed. When he tried to take off my pants, I could only think of you.” Sanji tried to wipe his tears. “I could see your smile and I couldn’t stop myself from comparing. His hands were too small and he was a bad kisser. He was everything you are not and I hated it. I left him in the bathroom and went back to the Sunny.”

“Why did you hate it?”

“Because I love you so much. I love how brash and loud you are. I love your big calloused hands. I love how you tease me and fight with me. I love your humor and sarcasm. I love how much you challenge me every day. I was so scared of losing you because I know you don’t love me back and it’s okay. So when Chopper announced to me that I was pregnant, I panicked. I know what it’s like to be trapped and I didn’t want you to feel that. I didn’t want you to think I wanted to force you into something you didn’t want to.”

“You’re an idiot Curly.”

Sanji closed his eyes tightly. Of course, Zoro would be mad. Sanji had screwed up so badly this time. He was such an idiot. How could he think Zoro would like him?

“I’ve been in love with you since I saw you at the Baratie Sanji.”

Sanji opened his eyes and looked at Zoro. “What?”

“I love you, idiot. I love your kindness, your passion, your love for cooking. I love your delicate hands. I love how you piss me off. I love everything about you. You’re the most strongest, courageous, and bravest person I know. When you told us you were pregnant, I went crazy Cook. I thought I had finally the chance to build a family with you. But then you told me I wasn’t the dad, it broke me. I thought you hated everything about me so I tried to change. I thought if I could be more gentle, silent, or romantic then you would love me.”

“Please don’t.” Sanji smiled. “I love you because of who you are, you loud big oaf with no direction sense. Please don’t change. Never.”

Zoro smiled back. He walked toward the bed and sat next to Sanji. The cook pressed his cheek against Zoro’s shoulder.

“I can’t believe we have a daughter Curly.”

“You forgive me?”

“You will have to give me some time to forgive you, but I still love you Curly. I want us to be a family.”

“We are.” Sanji brushed Sora’s hair. “She got your hair.”

“It’s your fault Curly. You fucking called it with that idiot nickname.”

Sanji snorted. “What are the swords’ reactions?”

“Wado is running everywhere yelling that this is the best day ever, Kitestu says she’s too cute to be mine, and Enma congrats us.”

“Thanks guys.”

Sora started to make some noises, she looked happy to have both of her parents with her.

Zoro smiled. “I’m happy she got your eyes.”

“Maybe the next one will have yours.”

Zoro looked at Sanji. “You want another one? That quickly?”

Sanji slapped his chest. “Of course not idiot. But one day. If you want.”

“Of course I want.” Zoro put a kiss on Sanji’s forehead and then captured his lips.

Sanji melted into the kiss, fuck he had missed Zoro’s lips on his.

Zoro whispered against his lips. “I want everything with you Curly.”

Sanji smiled with tears in his eyes. Zoro loved him back and they had a daughter. Nothing could be more perfect.

When Chopper announced him three months ago his pregnancy, it had been the best news of his life and now he couldn’t wait to grow old with Zoro and raise their kids together at the All Blue.

Notes:

Endnotes: After Luffy became King of the Pirates, he officiated Zoro and Sanji's wedding. Nine months later, Sanji gives birth to a little boy Roronoa Pedro. Much to Zoro’s joy, Pedro has his dada’s straight eyebrows and his papa’s blond hair, and most importantly his blue eyes. Sanji's nickname for him is Squash.

Endnotes 2: I first wanted to do an all-pov Sanji but then I immediately thought about Zoro fully panicking about baby names and I had to include that.

Endnote 3: Pink carnations mean love, fondness, and tenderness and white carnations mean pure and true love.
