Summary
Tanjiro Kamado had been a demon for a very long time, decades upon decades. He's met many people throughout his life and some stand out more than others. He just never thought he’d meet the children he once took care of while pretending to be a teenage boy who wanted to give his “younger sister” her humanity back.
Well this might mess with his plan, but Tanjiro had never been an A+ planner, so maybe he really should have thought about this more. And did he mention he hadn't told them he was a demon at the time? Oops.

He thinks it's fitting.
Jabber likes pain, both when it's inflicted on him and when it's plainly visible in another person. He likes fighting, tearing people apart, seeing how they break on him. He likes it even more when he loses, when he's the one with blood in his teeth and holes in his body. He was made for it, for making it happen and for enjoying it.
And yet—
“It’s funny, man, sum light petting ‘n yer already coming undone, ain't ya?” Zanka laughs again, lips tracing the lines of Jabber's jaw, making him tilt his head higher and higher in an honestly lame attempt to escape the ministrations. On Zanka's shoulders, his hands busy themselves clinging to the Cleaner's shirt, twisting and pulling at the fabric like a lifeline. He wants to move, to escape. He also wants to wiggle himself into Zanka's bones, carve a place in the middle of his ribcage and curl up there like a cat in the sun. “Yer so cute,” Zanka purrs, “unbelievable.”

Summary
Actually, Ace thinks, groaning quietly as Luffy manages to send an entire table crashing down on Dadan, the boy laughing at their caretaker’s surprised yelp and curses, It’s like something’s missing. Like he’s missing something important.
His energy hasn’t faded, but the rare moments when Luffy’s quiet seem to have increased in frequency. Ace catches him distractedly squinting at things when he thinks Ace is busy with something else. It’s confusing, and slightly irritating, and Ace can’t for the life of him figure out the answer to why Luffy is being so quiet if something is bothering him, considering how open his younger brother usually is.
