Work Text:
Shota thought he knew his class pretty well. Not having to expel a single student at the start of the year had admittingly been a bit of a wrench in his plans. He doesn't regret it though. They have all proved again and again that he was right to keep them in his class. Of course close contact with them all has led him to having a better understanding of their personalities beyond what is shown on the surface. Iida's propensity for rule following being a foundation for his understanding of morals. The reason he'd go as extreme as trying to kill another person was because everyone following the rules had led to his role model being nearly killed. Bakugou came off angry and violent and while that was true to a point, it was also a mask to cover the most complicated series of insecurities Shota had ever seen. He still needed to figure out a way to make him go to Hound Dog at least semi-consensually.
Of course, this also meant he had a better understanding of Midoriya than most. At the surface, he was an anxiety ridden hero hopeful with little but, growing control of his quirk. A sunshine child through and through. That's what most see but, Shota knew better. He's known better ever since the little shit outsmarted him on the ball throw by just sacrificing a single finger rather than an arm. Anybody who'd seen that and didn't see the feral little shit underneath didn't deserve to be a hero. He honestly has no idea how All Might could possibly think Midoriya would be a symbol of peace.
The problem child is a fight in a can. Shota honestly thinks he could tell him to spar with the entire U.A. faculty and he'd just vibrate with enthusiasm. Quite frankly, he wasn't even remotely surprised to see the problem child adapting the his opponent like this. He did however have to hide a disturbing grin in his capture scarf when he heard the little taunts and giggles he was shooting Mirio's way as he chased the blonde with the intensity of a shark that smelled blood in the water. His wide grin that looked like it would crack his cheeks undermined only by the feral glint in his eyes that demanded the spill of blood.
Aizawa couldn't help himself from muttering in a way he hasn't done since he was a child.
"One of us. One of us. One of us."

Nejire curiously watched on as the green haired student chased mirio like a cat would it's favorite toy. She had to admit she was curious on whjat he had said. Technically, it made sense that if the body deemed something to be more harm than good in the body it would consider it foreign and try to get rid of it. The theory little Mido had proposed had merit. Enough that she had to resist the urge to join in.
She wouldn't tell a soul but, she knew this exercise was a lesson for more than just the 1-A class. Mirio hadn't been getting cocky per se, but his pride was definitely getting a bit too big. That kind of thing is best to head off at the start so this was perfect. He would dismantle the class easy enough for the most part but, there had been a couple of members they were expecting to put up more of a fight. On one hand it was sad that more of the class hadn't been fast enough to avoid a knockout blow although she was pretty proud of explodey kid. On the other the one kid that had was really giving mirio a run for his bones, literally.
They might want to finish up pretty quick though. She could hear some yelling slowly getting louder and she didn't think red hair and tape boy would be able to rain in splodey much longer.

Bakugou tried to shove off shitty hair and flat face another time only to be thwarted by the red heads strength once again. They just didn't understand that he needed to get back in there. He wouldn't let fucking DEKU last longer than him in a fight. He just knew the nerd was mocking him with that big ass grin of his. 'Ha Katsuki got knocked out so fast. Just another weakness I could exploit out of him,' well he wasn't going to let Deku win! He was getting in there, beating the face off of tintin, and then turning on Deku with his stupid ass grin and bright glowing...feral...eyes.
At the sight of the eyes that usually hid the violence he knew the nerd fully capable of unleashing on a dime, Bakugou was forced to remember a time his brain had suppressed. They were doing their usual patrol through the forest. It was just weeks after deku's diagnoses but he was still part of the group. It was a few things that had alienated the green haired boy. First him being quirkless, Second his insistence that he would still be hero as if he could be anything but a pebble to trip up the real heroes. Third was what happened that day in the woods. He was already on thin ice for that day he had fallen off the log but this would be the day it actually ended for them.
The nerd had developed a new habit of carrying a notebook with him everywhere. Normally Bakugou wouldn't give a shit but it seemed to make his muttering habit even worse and it was quickly getting on the blondes nerves. Finally he broke.
"Deku, what the fuck are muttering about you damn nerd," the explosive boy yelled! The green haired boy startled before looking at his best friend with a grin.
"Oh Kacchan, I was just thinking up ideas for our hero costumes and I think I've got a good rough draft! Here look!"
Before said "Kacchan" could say anything about the chances of the nerd becoming a hero a notebook was shoved in his face. He glared at the freckled idiot before snatching the book from his hands. He barely glanced at the drawing of the nerd before he had to force down a scoff of derision. Not only at the idea the nerd thought he could be a hero this time, but also at the costume which couldn't be a more obvious homage to All Might if it wasn't green. He looked at the costume drawn for him and considered it. It was much different to what he'd have during that lesson (and whether the boy admitted it to himself or not that was on purpose) but it wasn't that bad. The young Bakugou was actually considering giving the nerd praise before he got confused by the giant bulky things that had been drawn on his arms.
"Oi nerd, what are these fucking bricks on my arms?"
"Oh those are gauntlets. The idea is that they'll store up your sweat for a bigger explosion than you can yourself and act as protection for your wrist!" Izuku had been proud of that particular idea. Of course, Bakugou being Bakugou immediately focused on the (perceived) slight against himself.
"Deku, the FUCK you mean protection. I don't need protection from some shitty gauntlets," the boy exclaimed! His shout echoed throughout the forest for his temper had finally boiled over. Small pops had went off in his hands as he tried to intimidate the deku.
Contrary to expectations, the boy just sighed before approaching the explosive boy. "Of course you need protection Kacchan. Otherwise, something like this will happen." The green haired boy snapped his hands forward to the wrists of his childhood friends raised hands and twisted. A dual crack echoed in the small clearing before the blonde pulled back with a yelp of pain. It took less than a second for the boy to process what happened before he was blinded by rage. With a roar, the mad boy stepped forward and without a thought to potential consequences tried to unleash an explosion to the smiling boys face.
A sharp immediately flared and with a cry of pain the explosion was snuffed out. He looked down at his broken wrist and noticed it was now throbbing painfully.
"See Kacchan," the boy said with a sharp bright grin and eyes glowing with fascination, "now your quirk is more useless than mine," the boy giggled as if he had told a joke. Looking up into the gleefully smiling boy's eyes, Bakugou Katsuki knew true fear for the first time in his life. The were both interrupted by the sharp crack of a branch meeting the mossy boys head. He went down limp with that damn smile frozen on his lips as if even unconscious he was better than Katsuki. He looked up to see fingers holding up a branch he had used to knockout deku with wings frozen by his side.
Without saying anything, Katsuki swiftly walked out of the clearing toward the nurse. The lackeys followed him leaving Deku out cold in the clearing. He didn't run because hero's dont run from their fears. This interaction would set the standard for the boys interactions going forward. Bakugou would bully deku out of being a hero and following him out of fear and Midoriya would stay silent and compliant not because he feared Bakugou or the damage he could do, but because it had been late by the time he woke up and got home, his mom had been so worried!
Bakugou was immediately brought out of the memory by a loud crash. Deku had apparently dived from up high to try and surprise tintin only for the blonde to narrowly dodge. With a deranged cackle, the greenete followed to where the blonde retreated. Bakugou went silent and stopped resisting the efforts of red hair and soy face. This sudden change startled them and led them to analyze him. Instead of the usual mix of anger and whatever other emotion he was feeling at the time his face was badly masked apprehension as he eyed the battle taking place. Deciding to take their wins where they could get them they turned back to the serial killer chas-cough, cough-i mean battle taking place. Man who knew Mido could get so fired up!

He used every lesson in prediction, every counter perfected, every miniscule movement, and every attempt he could think of to throw off the green haired psychopath. They all failed. Either being adapted to too quickly or ineffective all together. This had led him to his current strategy! Panicked screaming and running like death themselves was on his tail. However, death would make it quick, which he knew was not his fate should he be caught.
He glanced toward the supervisors of the battle. Tamaki was hiding his face behind Nejire who was laughing! He looked toward Aizawa rather foolishly expecting sympathy but he was desperate. He was rather let down when he saw the crinkly eyed man hiding his mouth and shaking. He didn't have time to feel betrayed cause right then the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. He jumped sideways while activating permeation without even looking at the source of the feeling. A crash that cratered the floor was what met his sight when he was solid once more. A slight stinging sensation on his hand revealed that his reward for splitting his attention even a second was a cut on his finger from the blades of Midoriya's shoes.
He felt his heartrate spike as he heard slow steps coming from the dust. Out of the cloud came the devil dressed in green. His disturbing grin split his face as he slowly walked out of the obfuscation. "Come on Mirio, stop dodging. I need to start with your fingers before moving up to thicker bones to test my theory," the boy whined still with that demon grin. He giggled before pushing off to start the chase anew.
Mirio's only response was panicked running and a not so internal scream of "MOMMY!"

There were a few things that U.A Highschool was known for. Their pro-hero teachers, incredible curriculum, and state of the art facilities were just some of things you could expect getting into this prodigious institution. There is one thing that nobody but alumni knew however, and they are all much too terrified to ever share it. For on some unpredictable days, the teachers in classes of a certain wing would move. Whether it be an unplanned field trip, outside activities, or just moving to a different class they would all evacuate the wing aptly named: "The Principals Wing". Today was one such day as the entire side of the school was abandoned and silent. That is except for the cackling of a demon in white fur, currently watching the events in one of their training facilities. Even beyond the wing, the laugh seemed to echo through the school, thoroughly implanting existential, Lovecraftian, dread in all who heard it.
