in the absence of you (i drown between the blue)
i clung
to the phantom of you as a drowning man vices the free sky
submerged, i screamed the air from my soul, praying the abyss to eclipse my light
the hands of others returned, taking the shape of my bubbled wails
they lifted me higher than the waves, into the open blue
i see your essence in the whispers of the clouds, in the breath in the sails
so i dive in once again, eager for the darkness to hide me from the echoes of you
