Notes:

i’m back~~~~ hello everyone, and sorry for a very long wait.

here’s a the long waited hyunlix story💕 is a very beautiful story, i must say😌

but it does have some warnings:

—> Han Jisung suffers from mania, bipolar disorder, and DID (dissociative identify disorder). I did some research about it beforehand wanting to have my background information. He was diagnosed when he was 14 but signs were shown beforehand. His DID personality is a 5-year old called “Hannie”. The story doesn’t go into detail of Han’s life or conditions, but there’s a part in the story where he has one of his episodes, so I wanted everyone to know beforehand.

—> when words are tilted it means they are speaking English.

—> age gaps have been changed. Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin and Jeongin are the same age, Changbin is older by 6 months, Chan and Minho are older by two years.

—> they are all in college (except for Chan, who already graduated)

IMPORTANT WARNING:

—> all that happens in this story is pure fiction, it’s not true and i made it just for the story. it’s not to damaged the image of the idols or the people related to the story <—

australian boy

—hwang hyunjin studied in a prestigious musical school in Korea. has never traveled, much the less, been to a different country.

but he meets lee felix, and suddenly; he wants to visit Australia, learn english, and know everything there is to know about lee felix—

Hwang Hyunjin studied in Korea's most prestigious music and arts college. His goal was to get a degree in music, but if that didn’t work, his backup plan was dancing or painting.

Or just a regular day job where he can just suffer and groan at annoying customers in a cafe all day.

No, Hyunjin needed this; more than anything

So this year, his last year in college, he was going to make sure he made it to the end with enough high up grades to pass and get his degree.

His dream was to dance in big stages, filled with a lot of people, to compose music and become known for his music (like a trio of friends he knew, that with such a short age had become famous for their music).

And if not, he also liked painting; so if everything else failed, he still had his paintings.

“Come on, Kkami.” Hyunjin called his chihuahua to go inside the apartment. “I have to go school, okay?” Kkami looked up at his owner. “I’ll be back for lunch.”

Kkami barked, Hyunjin smiled.

“I love you, Kkami.”

Kkami barked again and Hyunjin grabbed his bag to leave.

“Don’t misbehave while I’m gone!” He shouted before closing the door and locking it.

“Hyunjin!”

Hyunjin turned around to see one of his acquaintances, because friends? They weren’t. Again, friends? They weren’t.

“Morning, Han.”

Han Jisung; third year student who had no need for studies anymore but still wanted to finish his college years. (Completely unnecessary in Hyunjin's opinion). Engaged. I know, right? So young and already engaged, but Hyunjin couldn’t say anything about it. Han and his fiancé were like gum; always glued to each other’s side, it was impossible to get them alone at all.

And, Hyunjin guessed, there was also the fact they were literally soulmates

Hyunjin hated affection, so that wasn’t his field. Nor did he want it to be.

Han was also his neighbor in the apartment complex next to the school. He lived with his two roommates, who just like him, also had no need for studies but still did them anyway. (Waist of time, on Hyunjin’s opinion. Again).

And Han was also the one person, in this entire world, that Hyunjin couldn’t stand.

And don’t get him wrong, Han was a great person, but there was something about him that just annoyed Hyunjin to no end.

If it hadn't been for Han’s fiancé, who shared classes with Hyunjin due to similar chosen degrees, he would have never met Han in the first place.

But yet, here he was.

“Want to ride together?” Hyunjin forced a smile on his lips. “C2 are waiting outside.”

Hyunjin rolled his eyes at the stupid nickname.

Another thing to the long list of things Hwang Hyunjin just detested about Han Jisung; his stupid nicknames. He had one for anything and for anyone.

“Sure, it’ll save me some gas.”

But he wasn’t going to turn down an opportunity to talk to his best friend, who happened to be one of Han’s roommates.

“Awesome!” Han wrapped an arm around Hyunjin and began walking towards the elevator. “Channie has to go in early today.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know, he just said he had to.”

Hyunjin looked at the elevator doors opening and stepped in with Jisung.

Channie going in early?

To work?

With no specific reason?

Something was up; Hyunjin knew Channie hated waking up early. His boyfriend having to be the one to wake him up every morning.

The elevator doors opened in the parking lot of the apartments and Hyunjin saw a 4-door black jeep parked right in front.

“We’re going in Changbin’s jeep?”

“Yeah.” Jisung opened the door and went in first. “Hyunjin is coming along.”

“Morning.” Hyunjin greeted as he closed the door.

Two heads turned to look at him.

The first, and Hyunjin’s favorite, Seo Changbin; his best friend. (And Wooyoung’s, whoever the hell that was).

Changbin was older by 6 months, so he was in the same year as Hyunjin. His degree was music, but in early years he also took a degree in business in case the music thing didn’t work either.

Hyunjin and him became friends in their first year when Changbin helped him find the way to the office.

Hyunjin didn’t see him again for the rest of the day, but the next day he saw him in his music class, and they became friends.

They had a lot of things in common; Hyunjin liked composing, Changbin composed and rap. Hyunjin liked animals, Changbin was raised on a small farm by his parents; so he also loved animals. They both had pets; although Changbin had way more than Hyunjin. (Hyunjin only had two).

And there were many other things; but over all, Hyunjin really loved his Binnie, even when he had to share him with some guy named Jung Wooyoung from his painting class and with his boyfriend, soon to be fiancé (although he didn’t know that yet), Christopher Bang.

Which led him to the next person, on the driver side; Christopher Bang.

Christopher Bang, a.k.a Bang Chan, was the oldest in their little group of friends. He already graduated, and worked for an agency named JYPE. (Which was also the agency Hyunjin wanted to apply to, when he finished college).

Chris and Hyunjin met through Changbin, who Chris had been dating for 3 years before that. They’ve been together since high school, and are about to reach their 8th anniversary. (Which is where the “soon to be fiancé” thing comes into play). Chris doesn’t know anything yet, but Hyunjin was helping Binnie pick a ring.

Chris went by Bang Chan at work and everywhere else he went. It was just sort of easier for him to say that rather than Christopher everywhere he went. (And Hyunjin knew it was also because Chris hated his English name due to past bullying from kids in Korea back in his HS years).

Hyunjin tolerates Chan (he definitely likes him way more than Han) but Chris sometimes could be too affectionate, and Hyunjin drew the line at that.

Now, with all three together; you made 3RACHA

3RACHA had made a name for themselves under the JYPE agency. They were a small unit of three that rap and composed their own songs.

From what Hyunjin understood, from when they first explained it to him, it had been Chris who had come up with the idea. And it was firstly just him and Changbin, but when they met Han through a mutual friend, it became three instead of two.

Therefore, 3RACHA was born.

And everyone knew about them.

At school, stores, restaurants, even abroad; everyone knew and listened to their music.

And Hyunjin was pleased to say he's been one of the people to see them grow and see how far they’ve gotten.

He would always feel proud of what they’ve accomplished until now (yes, even of Han) and he was glad to call them his friends. (Except Han, he was still an acquaintance).

“Han said you had to go in early, is something wrong?”

“No, but I’m picking up a friend from the airport.” Hyunjin looked back at Binnie. His friend was on the phone typing rather quickly.

Maybe his composing.

That was one thing about Changbin that Hyunjin admired; he could get inspiration out of anything and everything.

“A friend?” Hyunjin asked.

“Yeah, flying in from Australia.”

Ah, Australia. So that’s why they were taking Changbin’s jeep. Chan’s car was probably too small for any luggage.

Hyunjin left the topic there.

And not that he wasn’t keen on Australians, but they weren’t his favorite people. Yes, he knew Bang Chan, but that was it. And that was enough too, Hyunjin didn’t need anymore people from a different country, talking in a different language he didn’t understand, and who he couldn’t communicate with.

No, Bang Chan was his one and only Aussie and it was going to stay like that.

The car ride was smooth, Hyunjin just looked out the window with his earphones on.

He texted back and forth with one of his girl besties; Yeji. They shared dance class together and had hit it off right off the bat.

She was like a female version of him; and he loved that.

“I’m stopping by during lunch.”

“Aha.” Hyunjin looked at Changbin, confused at his reaction. Where was the “lovey dovey Changbin” Hyunjin knew all too well?

Something was up.

“Yeah, I know.” Changbin reached for his bag. “Love you.”

“I love yo-“ Changbin closed the door before Chan finished.

“Minho is waiting for me.” Han said as he turned on his heel and walked towards the parking lot; probably to look for his fiancé’s car.

Han and his fiancé didn’t live together; mainly because Chan and Changbin were “in charge” of Han while he was in Korea (long story, a very long story) and Han couldn’t move out of their household until he turned 21 (which was two more years ahead of him).

Hyunjin saw him jogging to a black BMW that was parked not too far and he saw familiar purple hair from the rolled down passenger window.

Hyunjin shook his hand and the boy shook his hand back.

Then he heard a loud groan to his side and when he turned around he saw Changbin clutching his phone so tightly he might actually break it if he kept going.

“Ok, what’s wrong?” Hyunjin reached for the phone and pulled it out of Bin’s hands.

“It’s-“

“First of all, breathe.” Hyunjin said. “You and I can’t speak when you’re like that; you’ll just speak nonsense.”

Changbin rolled his eyes but took a deep and slow breath in. He let it out after counting to ten (like Hyunjin taught him) and opened his eyes.

“Now, what’s wrong?”

“Chris’s family.”

“Huh?” Hyunjin tilted his head sideways. Chan’s family? What about Chan’s family? As far as he knew, Changbin has never met them; hasn’t even been to Australia, ever.

“You know that year Chan had to go back to Australia for “personal reasons”

Hyunjin nodded. How could he forget? Changbin had been so insufferable the entire fucking year.

“Well, it wasn’t personal reasons.”

“So, what was it?”

“He was asked to go to court.”

“What?!” Hyunjin shouted. “For what?!”

“His parents were getting a divorce.” Hyunjin’s next argument died in his tongue.

“What?”

“His mom found out his dad had been keeping a secret.”

Hyunjin had the most confused look on his face. Had he missed the entire drama or was he told but just forgot?

“No, you didn’t forget.” Hyunjin snorted at how Changbin just knew what he was thinking. “We just didn’t tell you. We told no one, Chris didn’t want anyone to know.”

“Know what?”

“He and Hannah have a brother they didn’t know about.”

Hyunjin opened his mouth to say something, but closed back up not expecting that answer. At all.

“So… wait.”

“Aha, Chan’s dad not only was he unfaithful to his wife, but he also had a child with the woman he was seeing.”

“What. The. Actual. Fuck.”

“That’s what I said.”

Hyunjin didn’t even know where to begin. Or what to think.

“Wait.” Hyunjin stopped walking. “What does that have to do with you?”

“Chan’s dad asked him to take in his brother for this school’s year.”

“Wha-“

“And before you ask, we didn’t have a choice.”

“Why?”

“Chan’s mom hasn’t moved out yet, so she’s still around the house. Which sucks because Chan’s brother started staying over at their house because his mom gave up her mother rights, which left Chan’s dad being the only legal guardian of the boy, so he moved in.”

“And?”

“Chan’s mom can’t stand the sight of him.”

“Oh.”

“So it’s an ongoing war at their house; even Hannah moved out to her best friend’s house for the time being.”

“Wow.” Changbin nodded. “And Han?”

“Han is going to start sleeping with us in our room.” Hyunjin opened his mouth to speak. “On his own bed.”

“Ah, okay.”

“And we’re giving Chan’s brother the room.”

“What about the recording room?”

Hyunjin has been to the 3RACHA apartment, and he knew there were three rooms; the marriage room (Chan’s and Changbin’s room), the singular room (Han’s room), and the guest room (the recording room).

“You know Chan doesn’t like his things being touched, especially if said things are from the recording room.”

Right, the recording room, or as Hyunjin called it; Channie’s Room

“Yeah, I know.”

“So, I didn’t even try to convince him to take everything out.”

“Still, what does all this have to do with you?”

“Chan’s dad has been a pain on both our butts about wanting the boy to move out as soon as possible. And now that he finally is, this man wants to act like he actually cares about him.”

“What do you mean?”

“For starters he paid for the ticket, second he helped him pack all he needed and it’s making sure he has everything he needs.”

“Sounds to me like he just wants to get rid of him as soon as possible.”

Hyunjin sat at the closest round table he found.

“Yeah, exactly.” Changbin sat next to him. “But it’s the way he makes it sounds like he cares that is bothering Chan.”

“I still don’t see what this has to do with you.”

“Chan’s dad has been on his ass about this trip, making Chan more stressed than he already is due to the deadline of our next song upload. Which makes me stressed because I have to listen to him rant about it but I can’t because I have school stuff, plus my own lyrics to upload for the agency, plus Han’s things I have to deal with.”

Again, Han story? Way too long for right now.

“And then Chan gets angry because I’m not listening to him, then we fight. Then Han tries to settle things and just makes things worse, and everything just goes downhill from there.”

“Sounds like a lot.”

“And that’s me not even counting taking care of Dwaekki, helping Han with his stuff; making sure he takes his meds. Cooking for us, doing my own things.”

“Changbin, you sound like a wife.”

“I might as well be.” Hyunjin couldn’t help the snort that escaped his mouth. “Don’t laugh, it’s not funny.”

“It is, a little.” Changbin groaned and lowered his head. “At least you're still going forward with your plan, right?”

“The ring?” Hyunjin nodded. “Yes, absolutely.” Hyunjin saw Binnie’s eyes lit up at the mention of the ring. “The sooner I give that man my last name, the sooner he’ll be able to breathe, the sooner we can make Han’s adoption legal, the sooner we can actually buy a house and move in.”

“Good.”

“Oh no.”

“What?”

“I just remembered something.”

“What?” Hyunjin saw Changbin’s eyes watered, his lips making a pout.

“Chan’s brother is bringing Berry with him.”

“Oh, shit.” Hyunjin broke out laughing.

Changbin was going to have a farm in his house. (He already had way too many animals).

Hyunjin drew on his drawing notebook while he waited for the teacher to begin the class.

The door was open and Hyunjin, who sat at the top row, looked to his right to see who had come in.

Hyunjin’s world stopped.

A boy walked in.

He was skinny, tall, not as tall as him though. He had blonde hair, long hair that was tied up in a ponytail. A cute ponytail may he add. He had a blue bandana over his hair, tied up behind his head to keep his hair back. A few strands of hair still fell over his eyes, which he kept pushing back into the bandana.

He walked closer, and Hyunjin saw his outfit. Simple white shirt with a white cardigan over it. Ripped jeans and black compact boots.

He walked up to where Hyunjin sat, which was also where the closest stairs to go down to the teacher’s desk were also at, and if Hyunjin’s world had stopped when the boy walked in, now his heart stopped beating.

The boy had beautiful blue eyes that somehow complimented his blonde hair. And he had freckles; gorgeous freckles that looked like constellations on his cheeks.

Hyunjin would keep that memory in his mind forever.

He’d never seen freckles on anyone before, they were gorgeous. You could draw constellations with them.

The boy went down the stairs and Hyunjin followed his every step from when he began talking with the teacher, until the end.

Mid-conversation however, Hyunjin realized something; the boy’s Korean wasn’t that good. He stuttered and seemed to not be able to find the right words to communicate.

Hyunjin bit his lower lip, eyes still on the boy who nodded at the teacher’s words, while he thought back to his and Changbin’s morning conversation.

Could he be…?

—Lunch—

Hyunjin waited for his tray at the cafeteria.

“Here you go sweetheart.” The lunch lady gave Hyunjin his lunch, and he gave her his card. She cash him out and return the card.

“Thank you.” The blonde gave a head bow and turned around.

And…

Disaster ensued.

Hyunjin felt the splash of his ice tea fall on his clothes and face. His tray ended on the ground, along with his lunch and empty cup of ice tea.

Hyunjin blinked a couple of times, cleaned off his face with his hands and looked up. He took a deep breath in, and let it out slowly.

“I’m sorry.”

Hyunjin’s heart skipped a beat.

That accent… He recognized it.

The blonde looked down and saw a mane of blonde hair bowing down at him.

“I-If you want, I’ll buy your lunch for you.” The boy said, looking up, and Hyunjin saw his blue eyes looking up at him, scared

He was right, the boy didn’t know how to speak Korean.

“Sorry, um-“ The boy took out his phone from his pocket and Hyunjin guessed he was going to a translator app.

Which was true, if the boy’s quick typing was any indication of it.

Hyunjin sighed, and wanting to save him the trouble, he took away his phone and made him look back at him.

“Restroom.” Hyunjin said in English, and pointed at himself and the boy and then at the cafeteria door. “Go.”

The boy understood because he nodded and after grabbing his lunch tray, and Hyunjin’s he walked towards the exit.

Hyunjin followed behind him, frowning.

Although inside, his heart wouldn’t stop beating as if he had just run a marathon.

Once they entered the bathroom, Hyunjin made sure to lock the door just so no one would come in.

The boy dropped his bag on the counter and quickly turned towards Hyunjin and bowed.

“I’m sorry.”

So, he knows some Korean.

“It’s okay.” Hyunjin said, voice steady even when his hands shook. “It was just iced tea.”

“But I-“ The boy went quiet. Hyunjin guessed it was because he couldn’t find the correct words. “Um, spill your drink. ” The boy did the motion of a drink spilling with his hands.

“And that’s fine.” Hyunjin repeated. “I’m a fan of coffee anyways.”

“Oh.” The boy stood. “Are you sure?”

“Yeah.” Hyunjin turned towards the mirror and saw his shirt stained. “Taking that out it’s going to be a pain.”

“Here.”

Hyunjin looked at the boy and saw him rummaging through his bag.

When he found what he was looking for, he pulled out a short sleeve shirt that had the sides open.

“You can have it.”

“Are you sure?” The boy nodded.

“And, here.” The boy took off his cardigan and stretched it towards Hyunjin. “I don’t mind the, um, cut off parts.” He pointed at his own short sleeve shirt to where it was open and Hyunjin looked down.

And, oh wow, pretty boy had muscles.

Now that his cardigan was off, Hyunjin could see his arms, and yes they were skinny, but it was muscle. He also had abs which Hyunjin could see a little from the side.

Hyunjin’s face burned.

“Are you okay?” The boy asked. Hyunjin snapped his eyes up and met blue eyes.

“Y-Yes.” He said. “Thank you.” Hyunjin gave a small bow. “I’ll return it tomorrow, is that okay?”

The boy tilted his head sideways.

“Um…” Hyunjin thought back to all those annoying lessons Chan gave him to learn English. “Return tomorrow.” He said.

“Oh, yes.” The boy smiled and bowed. “Thank you, thank you.”

Hyunjin looked back at him, a smile on his lips. Something about his presence made him feel happy

“Can I have your number?” Hyunjin looked up at the boy and saw him pointing at his phone which was open on the number pad. “For tomorrow.”

“Yes.” Hyunjin took a step closer and reached for his phone. Their fingers touched, Hyunjin had long fingers just like he had long legs, so their fingertips touched midway.

The boy’s cheeks turned pink and Hyunjin felt his heart skip a beat.

Hyunjin took the phone and typed his number. He called himself and felt his phone vibrate inside his pocket.

“There.” He gave back the phone.

“Thank you.” The boy gave another bow.

“I’m Hyunjin, by the way.”

The boy looked up at Hyunjin and he smiled.

“Yongbok.” The boy said.

“Yongbok.” Hyunjin repeated under his breath.

He even has a pretty name.

The bell rang and Hyunjin was brought back to the present.

“I’ll text you in the morning, Yongbok.” The boy nodded before grabbing his bag and walking to the exit. He tried opening the door but it wouldn’t budge.

Hyunjin walked up to him, getting a little too close, and reached over his shoulder to unlock the door.

The air became hot, and Hyunjin felt his heart beating at top speed.

“There, it was locked.”

Yongbok looked back at Hyunjin and the blonde saw his cheeks tainted red.

“Thank you.”

Hyunjin smiled, tilting his head sideways and opened the door for him.

Yongbok exited, with his bag, and disappeared down the hallway.

Hyunjin thought about how his freckles looked when he blushed and how cute it made him look the rest of the day, and the days that followed.

I want to meet him.

—Two Weeks Later—

Hyunjin didn’t see Yongbok at all for the next two weeks.

They texted on and off, mainly about the cardigan and shirt Hyunjin still needed to return, and among other school stuff.

But they never saw each other again.

And Hyunjin didn’t see it in himself to ask why, for whatever reason.

Right now, he was getting dressed to go visit Changbin, who he also hasn’t spoken to in the same two weeks.

“I’ll be right back, Kkami.” The dog barked from the bed as Hyunjin fed his second pet, a weasel named Jiniret which he adopted after Kkomi passed away.

He finished and closed the cage before leaving his room.

He closed the door of his apartment and walked right across to apartment 3C where 3RACHA and now Chris’s stepbrother (who he hasn’t met yet) lived.

He knocked twice and didn’t get an answer. He knocked again twice and was about to call Changbin when the door was slightly open.

“Hey, Jinnie.” Changbin’s voice sounded sore. Was he sick?

No, he would have told him.

Hyunjin saw Changbin’s puffy cheeks and red eyes and instantly knew something was wrong.

“Is everything okay?”

Changbin shook his head sideways.

“Can I come in?” Changbin bit his lower lip as he looked down. “Is Jisung okay?”

He may not like the guy, but he knew of his conditions, and he was respectful of that regardless if he liked him or not.

Changbin shook his head again.

“You want to talk about it?”

Changbin nodded.

“Okay, we can talk about it.” Hyunjin took a step back to give Changbin some room to breathe, even when he was on the other side of the door. “You want to talk about it with me outside the door or you want me to come in?”

Hyunjin waited for a response and was about to sit on the floor when the door opened completely.

“Okay, inside it is.”

Hyunjin walked in and everything was a mess

There were clothes everywhere, and thrown books and notebooks on the ground. Dwaekki laid on his bed, curled up in a little ball, while Berry laid next to him, also curled up in a little ball.

Hyunjin looked towards the kitchen and it was even messier. There was broken glass on the counter and on the floor, a broken plate and a broken glass cup.

“What happened?” Hyunjin looked back at Changbin who hugged himself. “Binnie, what happened with Jisung?” Hyunjin took a step closer but Changbin backed away.

“H-He had one of his episodes.”

Hyunjin nodded slowly, listening closely. He also kept his distance, knowing Changbin was sensitive when talking about Jisung.

“It started right before dinner.”

—Hours Before—

“Jisung, dinner is ready.”

“Coming!” Jisung stopped playing with his dog, Bbama, and went to the living room.

He passed by what used to be his room and saw it was full of books, notebooks, there was a half empty suitcase on the corner, and the bed had some plushies over it.

He stopped at the door frame and slowly dropped his head to the side.

Chris’s brother, who sat at what used to be Han's desk full of his favorite Pokémon, and anime figures, was now full of notebooks, a small Eevee on the corner and a black laptop. And Chris’s brother looked back at him with a confused look.

“Need anything?” He asked.

“It’s my room.” Jisung said, monotone.

“Oh, yeah.” The boy got shy, and tucked in some of his hair behind his ear. “I’m sorry, I know it must be so annoying not to have your own space.”

“It’s my room.”

“Yeah…” The boy turned around slowly on the desk chair, his eyes trained on Jisung who stared at the bed. “Jisung, where are you?”

“You took over my room.” Jisung looked up at Chris’s brother. “You took over my things.” Jisung took a step forward, reaching for Chris’s brother's shirt.

“Wait, wait.” The boy tried to remove Jisung’s hand off him but failed.

“It’s mine.”

Jisung gripped the boy’s neck, scratching it in the process.

“AH!” Chris’s brother shouted. “Chris!” He called.

“They were my things!” Jisung shouted, angry, and pushed the boy back until his back hit the shelf and dropped all the books and a jar of glass over his head.

“CHRIS!” The boy shouted again, louder this time.

In no time, steps were heard and Chris appeared at the door with Changbin right behind him.

“Jisung!” Chris reached for Han’s elbow and pulled him back. “Oh my god, Han.”

“Are you okay, Felix?” Changbin asked the boy.

“I think so.” Felix touched his head and when he looked back at his hand he saw it painted in red.

Blood.

“He’s bleeding, Chan.”

Chan, who held a very distraught Jisung, looked back at them with worry.

“Call Minho.”

Changbin took out his phone while he tried to help Felix to sit properly on the floor.

“Come, Han.” Chan tried to calm the boy down. “Let’s play with Dwaekki, yes?”

“No!” Jisung stomped the floor. “I want my room.”

“Honey, I know.” Chan cradled Han’s face. “But right now, Felix is using it, okay?"

“Did he take his meds today?” Felix whispered to Changbin.

“No, the second dose is after dinner.”

“Hannie, come on, let’s just go make something in the living room.”

“Only if I can have my room back.”

Chan looked at his stepbrother and Felix just gave him a thumbs up.

“Okay, you can get your room back.”

Jisung smiled and everything seemed to go back to normal after that.

Until it was time to take Felix to the hospital.

“Minho is here.”

“Hey, I came as fast as I could.”

Channie laid on the sofa with a sleeping Jisung on his lap.

“I just got him to sleep.” He whispered.

“What do you need?”

“Felix needs to go to the hospital.”

Just then, Changbin came from the room with Felix who he was helping walk.

“A jar smash on his head plus some other books.” Changbin said.

“I’m sorry.” Minho apologized, bowing.

“It’s fine.”

“What happened?” Minho asked.

Hannie made an appearance when he saw Felix in his room.”

“Oh.” Minho looks back at his fiancé, who slept calmly on Chan’s lap.

“Please go before he wakes up.” Chan said.

Which jinxed all of them, because as he said it, Jisung opened his eyes.

“Minho?” Jisung said, blinking a few times.

“You're tired Jisung, go back to sleep.” Minho said. “Let’s go, Felix.”

“I can walk now, Changbin, thank you.”

“Are you sure?”

“Here, I’ll help you.” Minho reached for Felix’s arm.

Big mistake.

“Are you leaving me?”

Jisung’s tiny and broken voice got all of them frozen.

“Are you leaving me too?” Jisung said, his cheeks becoming red and his eyes watering. “Is my Minho leaving me too?”

“Jisung…” Minho took a deep breath and turned around. “I’m not leaving you, honey.”

“You promise?” Jisung said, looking at Minho with hope.

“I promise, baby.”

That seemed to calm him down, but when Minho went to help Felix again, Jisung spoke.

“But why are you going with him?”

“Han.”

“Are you leaving me for someone else?” Jisung stood from Chan’s lap. He tried to catch him but Han evaded his hand. “Is that what this is?!”

“No, no.” Changbin was quick to get close to Jisung. “Hannie, he’s just helping Felix, okay?”

“Are you leaving me for some stupid and useless-“

“Ok, Jisung, that’s enough.” Chan reached for Han’s hand.

“Guys, listen.” Felix spoke. “Let’s just call an Uber, or something.”

“Felix, no.”

“Or I’ll drive to the hospital.” As he said it, Felix stumbled and fell on Minho’s arms.

“Definitely not.”

“You traitor!” Jisung jumped over Chan to reach for Felix.

“Jisung, no!”

Han tackled Felix, who was still bleeding, and pushed him to the ground. Felix's head hit the kitchen counter.

“Han!” Minho shouted as he reached for his fiancé. “Han, stop!”

“No, don’t touch me!” Jisung pushed Minho back and began throwing everything he saw in the ground. “You're all the same.” Jisung reached for Felix’s clothes, which were in a clean laundry basket, and threw it everywhere. He ripped some shirts and one of Felix’s favorite cardigans. “You just want something from me and then you’ll leave, like everyone else.”

Chan went to help Felix, Changbin and Minho went to get Jisung.

“You all just want one thing from little and indefensive Han Jisung, right!?”

Jisung threw the dish rack to the ground, making everything shattered.

“What is it?!” Han shouted as he grabbed a piece of glass. “What was it this time, Minho?!”

Minho stopped in his tracks and looked at Han.

“Was it my hair? My face? My looks?” Han sobbed. “My body?”

“Han, don’t say that.”

“What was it!?” Han gripped a piece of glass. “Tell me, or I swear you won’t ever get to touch me ever again.”

Han pressed the glass over his wrist.

“Jisung!” Changbin shouted, tears rolling down his face without him realizing he was even crying.

“Jisung, don’t you dare.”

“Answer me.”

Minho looked so devastated

“I can’t answer that, Jisung.”

Jisung started crying, his body shaking, and Minho took the opportunity to tackle him and dropped him on the ground.

Minho made sure to be the one who fell on the ground, right where the broken glass was, so that Jisung wouldn’t get hurt.

Even if it hurt him, he didn’t care.

He needed to keep his Jisung safe; even if that meant from himself.

“I’m so sorry, mommy.” Jisung said, over Minho’s chest. “I promise to be a good boy.” Minho just hugged him tightly as he cried with him. “Don’t let daddy go, please?”

“Ow, my Hannie.” Changbin sobbed.

“I promise to be a good boy, I really do promise.”

Eventually Jisung fell asleep over Minho’s chest. Felix was taken in an ambulance to the hospital, Minho was checked by the EMTs and Changbin was left to clean up the mess in tears and sobs to which he had no one to turn to because Chan was in the hospital with Felix.

And he didn’t want to burn Hyunjin with this mess. It was his mess, his family, and he had to deal with it.

Like he was taught to.

—Present—

“Oh, Binnie.” Hyunjin took a step closer. “Can I hug you?”

Changbin nodded, as new tears rolled down his cheeks.

“It’s okay.” Hyunjin said, as he patted Changbin’s back. “Everything’s going to be fine, just breathe and let it all out.”

Changbin held tightly to Hyunjin’s shirt.

“I’m here for you.”

A few hours passed where Hyunjin just held Changbin in his arms as he cried.

It was when Changbin finally calmed down and fell asleep that Hyunjin stood and laid him on the sofa.

“Rest, Binnie.” Hyunjin covered him with a blanket he found in a drawer they kept their blankets in, and covered him with it. “I’ll take care of the rest.”

Hyunjin began cleaning. He started with the kitchen where blood stains were still around the floor from Minho’s cuts. He got an empty bucket and towels and with some hot water and soap, he cleaned everything.

He picked up the broken glass from the kitchen along with the other utensils that were on the floor. He washed them and made sure to get a new bag for the broken glass.

Once the kitchen was spotless, he moved on to the living room and dining room, which were one room.

He cleaned and picked up everything from the ground.

And as he stood in the middle of the living room, his eyes on the sleeping Changbin on the couch, Hyunjin couldn’t help but feel his heart shattered

He knew the story; everyone in the group knew the story.

The story of how Han Jisung ended up being Changbin’s and Chan’s “son” and how they became his legal guardians.

It was sad; so sad Hyunjin never spoke about it again once he was told. He knew it was there but preferred not mentioning it at all knowing what it did to them.

To remember those bad times where Changbin and Chan were just kids taking care of a kid because some adults couldn’t take responsibility for their own actions.

Leaving two kids, because that’s what they had been. Kids; children. To take care of another child who due to the same irresponsible adults had to take pills at the age of 13 years old.

Hyunjin didn't like Han, and probably never will for his entire life, but he knew what he had gone through, and Hyunjin deep down admired him for surviving such a shit show.

Even when it had left him like this

Hyunjin didn’t realize he had begun crying and quickly cleaned his face and continued cleaning.

He went to Han’s room (which was Chris’s brother's room now) and saw that it wasn’t vacant. On the bed lay Han and Minho; the first curled up over Minho’s chest.

He slightly closed the door to give them some privacy and left for the big room.

He saw it decently cleaned, only some dirty laundry on the bed and messy papers on the desk, but other than that, all was clean. No mess in here.

“Hi, Dwaekki.” Hyunjin walked up to where the Frenchie laid on his bed.

The dog looked up at him, and snorted.

“I know, such an eventful day.” Hyunjin petted the dog before exiting the room again.

When he returned back to the living room he saw the apartment door open.

“It’s really not necessary, Christopher.” A voice came from outside.

Hyunjin suddenly felt his heartbeat quicken.

“Felix, I’m not letting you sleep on the couch.”

“It’s not that big of a deal.”

The door opened and Hyunjin saw two people come in.

“Hyunjin.” Chris said. Hyunjin could tell he had been crying and was trying his best to keep it together.

Hyunjin smiled politely at him, knowing Chan understood it meant he was there for them for anything.

It wasn’t until the other person also looked at Hyunjin that the blonde realized why his heart had begun beating fast.

Blue eyes looked back at him, blonde hair fell over freckle cheeks with a bandage covering most of said blonde hair.

Yongbok

Hyunjin’s mind malfunctioned for a second.

Wait.

Felix?

Who the hell was Felix

The boy in front of him was Yongbok; and he was sure of it.

He would never forget those blue eyes, or those freckles, or that blonde hair ever. He knew the boy in front of him was the one that gave him the shirt and the cardigan on the day they accidentally bumped into each other, (which he hadn’t yet returned).

Who the hell was Felix?

“Um, Chris.” Chan and Hyunjin looked back at the boy. “We’ve met.”

“Oh.”

“He's the one I bumped into two weeks ago.” Chris looked back at Hyunjin, then back at his brother.

“Oh.” Chris looked back at Hyunjin and sighed. “Sorry.” Chris said as he dropped his keys on the counter. “I’ve had an eventful day.”

“I know.” Hyunjin looked towards the sofa and Chris followed his gaze. Changbin still slept in the same position as when Hyunjin had left him.

“Oh, my Binnie.” Chris pouted and Hyunjin saw his eyes watered.

“I help clean around.” Hyunjin said.

“Thank you.” Chris hugged the blonde tightly. “Changbin didn’t want to burden you with this but we appreciate everything you do for us.”

“I’ve told him many times that it’s okay for him to come to me if he needs me.”

“I know.” Chris looked back at his boyfriend and smiled.

There was an awkward silence that made Chris remember they weren’t alone.

“Sorry, um, Hyunjin.” Chris turned around. “This is my brother, Felix.”

Hyunjin looked at the boy.

Felix?”

“Yeah, that’s my English name.” Felix said then turned to Chan. “I introduced myself to him as Yongbok.”

“Oh, I see.” Chris took off his jacket. “Well, I’m glad you guys met.”

Hyunjin and Felix looked at each other and blushed.

“I’ve been wanting to introduce you guys but I haven’t had a chance with everything that’s been going and then Felix moving in; it’s been a lot.”

“You know…”

Hyunjin sometimes spoke before thinking and got himself into things he would initially not want to get himself into.

“If you want, he can move in with me and it’ll relieve some of the stress on you.”

This was one of those things.

“Not that you are an annoyance.” The blonde turned to Felix. “But it’ll probably be more comfortable for them to move Jisung back to his room.”

Chris knelt next to Changbin as he played with his hair.

“I have an extra room that used to be my old roommate’s, but he moved out a while ago.”

“Are you sure?”

“Of course.” Hyunjin said. “As long as it is okay with you, that is.”

Hyunjin and Chan looked at Felix.

“I do have two pets.” Hyunjin added. “A dog and a weasel.”

“Have you seen this house?” Felix said, sarcastically. Hyunjin chuckled.

“Yes, I guess that won’t be a problem.”

“What do you think, Felix?” Chris asked.

“I think it’ll be best for all of us.” He said. “We saw how bad it can get, and it will be best if we try to avoid something like today happening ever again.”

Hyunjin stood there, listening to both brothers speak, trying to understand some of what they were saying.

“When can I move in?” Felix asked out of nowhere, startling Hyunjin.

“Right now, if you want.”

“Let me…” Felix looked up and then at Chris. “Can you tell him I’ll get everything settled and then I’ll move my things?”

Chris nodded and translated for him.

“Yeah, no problem.” Hyunjin gave Felix a thumbs up.

Felix smiled and walked towards the room.

“Minho and Jisung are asleep in there.”

“Right, I forgot.”

“You can use our room, Felix.” Chris said.

“Okay, thanks.”

Felix walked down the hallway and went inside the bedroom.

“Thank you, Hyunjin. For this.”

“You’re welcome.” Hyunjin gave a bow to Chris. “You guys have helped me when I most needed, so it’s fair for me to return the favor.”

“Thank you.”

Hyunjin nodded and grabbed his keys and jacket.

“I’ll be back within the hour or so to help Yongbok with his luggage.”

Chris didn’t miss the way Hyunjin referred to his brother by Yongbok and not Felix

“I have to do some errands, plus Kkami and Jiniret must be hungry.”

“Sounds good.”

Hyunjin nodded, and opened the door.

“Tell Binnie to call me if he needs anything.” The blonde said. “And tell him I mean it.” Chris nodded and Hyunjin closed the door.

Once outside apartment 3C, Hyunjin laid back against the door and took a deep breath.

What the hell did I just do?

—A Month Later—

It’s been a month since Felix moved in, and somehow Hyunjin had found a new version of himself.

For starters; Hyunjin began taking English classes online.

And yes, it was mainly for communication. He knew Felix, well Yongbok, took Korean classes at school plus he taught himself. So he found it fair that he also could try to communicate with him.

So, a week into the new routine that became his life, Hyunjin began teaching himself English. Sometimes even going to Christopher for help or practice.

Felix would also help him if he was around (or free) whenever Hyunjin was studying. In return, Hyunjin helped him with his Korean.

And by the second week, it became a habit. A routine

And Hyunjin and Yongbok began learning from each other.

And Hyunjin learned

He learned Yongbok liked Felix better than his Korean name. Yongbok was a name his grandfather (from his mother's side) gave him when he found out he had an English name.

He preferred Felix because it was easier (just like Chris) and because he didn’t like Yongbok. (Even when that’s what he went by in Korea). He liked reading, writing, and to Hyunjin’s surprise; composing. He liked baking, brownies being his favorite thing to bake.

He liked the ocean, and spring was his favorite season. He liked the snow, and he loved Australia. Even when he had bad memories there; he loved the place he grew up in.

He used to have baby chicks when he was little, but one day he came home and they were gone. His mom had told him she had to sell them for money since they were short on rent. He had been so sad he didn’t talk to his mom for days.

He liked dyeing his hair: his favorite color being blonde. He used to cover his freckles when he was teenager due to bullying in school; they used to tell him he looked like a girl.

He has two best friends that live in Busan. He met them on a trip he made to visit his grandparents (back when his mom wanted to not have to deal with him). He went to a park and accidentally bumped into someone.

In the story, Yongbok spilled his food and offered to buy him another extra meal. The boy had agreed, just to appease Yongbok, and they became friends.

Hyunjin also learned Yongbok’s favorite meals from Australia. The ones that made him miss home (not his mom) just home

He also learned that Felix was a great singer and rapper, while Yongbok was a great dancer and baker.

He learned the places Felix liked in Australia, making Hyunjin (for the first time in his life) want to travel somewhere. When before he only thought it would be too troublesome to do so, Yongbok seemed to have changed his mind.

And he did, with so many other things.

And by the end of the sixth week, when Hyunjin stood at his kitchen counter, a cup of juice in his hand was when he realized.

His gaze laid over Yongbok, who studied for his next exam sitting on the dining table. The boy’s hair fell flawlessly over his eyes, the rays coming from the windows hitting his face making his freckles shine. He wore a sleeveless shirt, and a pair of short pants Hyunjin recognized were his.

(Yongbok had borrowed them from him when he didn’t have any clean pants because he forgot to do his laundry)

And as Yongbok frowned and stuck out his tongue (something Hyunjin knew was the boy’s way of showing his frustration), Hyunjin realized that he had crossed the one line he swore he never would.

Love.

The love, affection, line; the line Hyunjin didn’t like.

Because while looking at Yongbok concentrated on his studies, with his cute frown, and his adorable pout with beautiful freckles; it made Hyunjin’s heart stop beating.

It made Hyunjin’s breath get caught in his lungs, made his stomach feel like butterflies were inside, made him feel like he was on a roller coaster because his heart wouldn’t stop beating fast.

It also made Hyunjin happy, and joyful. So joyful; he smiled more often. It made him feel like a part of him was finally filled by those blue eyes and beautiful freckles. Those cute features and adorable frowns. That blonde hair and sunshine aura.

Because that’s what he was; a ray of sunshine.

So Hyunjin realized, in due time, that he had broken his one rule.

He fell in love.

And he fell in love with Lee Yongbok. He fell in love with Lee Felix. With Christopher Bang’s brother. With cute and adorable Felix with his frowns and freckles. With dancer and baker Yongbok.

With his roommate

And Hyunjin didn't know how to feel about it.

—September 3—

“Changbin, I need a favor.”

Changbin looked up from his laptop and saw Hyunjin standing in front of him.

They were in the studio where Chan worked (JYPE agency) while they waited for him to finish a meeting.

“Is it very important or can it wait until I’m done?”

“Very important.”

“How important?” Changbin asked.

“In the: “I want to take someone, for the first time ever, on a date but I don’t know what to do because I’ve never been on a date with someone” important kind of way.”

Changbin’s mouth fell open.

“So, yes, very important.”

Changbin closed his laptop, took off his reading glasses and pulled the seat next to him for Hyunjin to sit.

“I'm all ears.” He said as he pushed the laptop away.

“Great, so.” Hyunjin took a seat. “Does your farm have baby chicks?”

“Jinnie, we have everything.” Changbin said, proudly. He always was about his family’s farm.

Hyunjin looked at him, still waiting for an answer.

“Yes, we do.” He said. “Why?”

Hyunjin hadn’t thought that far.

“Jinnie?” Changbin pressed a hand to Hyunjin’s forehead. “Do you have a fever? You’re red.”

If we’re being honest, Hyunjin’s thought process was just to ask Changbin permission to take someone to see the baby chicks.

He didn’t expect him to say no, but he didn’t expect him to say yes either.

“I’m f-fine.”

Changbin raised an eyebrow at Hyunjin.

“Why the sudden interest in my family’s farm?” Hyunjin’s leg began shaking up and down. “And why baby chicks out of everything?”

“Um-“ Hyunjin was not about to tell him how he was thinking of taking his brother-in-law on a date.

Most definitely not.

Not when Changbin and Chris kept no secrets from each other.

“The person I like-“ Saying it still made him want to throw up. “Likes baby chicks and he’s been wanting to see some.”

He?”

Shit.

Hyunjin…” Changbin got closer to Hyunjin. “When were you going to tell me you finally like someone?”

“It’s still new for me too.”

“Who’s the unfortunate soul?” Hyunjin dead-stared Changbin and Changbin broke out laughing.

“Shut up.”

“Sorry, it’s a little funny taking in consideration how strict you were with your rule of not liking any affection.”

“Well, people can change.”

Changbin looked at Hyunjin, with no trace of laughing in his face.

“You're being serious.” Changbin said, more to himself than Hyunjin.

“Yes, very.” Hyunjin said. “I really like this person and I want to take him out for his birthday.”

“When is it? I’ll call my family and set up a day to go.” Changbin smiled, happy that his best friend finally found someone who made him happy.

Or so it seemed so far by the way Hyunjin smiled like the sun radiated from his face.

“September 15.”

Changbin snapped his head up from his phone.

Shit.

“September 15?”

“Y-Yes.” Hyunjin tried to hide his nerves; this wasn’t good.

“That’s one day after Han’s birthday.” Hyunjin nodded, slowly. “Which is also the day of Felix’s birth-OH. MY. GOD.”

Hyunjin was quick to cover Changbin mouth.

“Shhhh.” Hyunjin said.

Changbin raised his hands to let Hyunjin know he wasn’t going to shout.

“If you shout, or raise your voice even once, I will walk away and forget we’re best friends.” Changbin gave him a thumbs up and Hyunjin let him go.

“Felix?” Changbin said once he was able to speak. “Like as in Lee-Bang Felix? ” Hyunjin nodded, groaning. “Like, Yongbok Felix?”

“Yes, Changbin!” Hyunjin low-shouted. “As in Felix.” Binnie’s mouth fell open. “As in Lee-Bang Felix, as in Yongbok Felix.”

“Oh my god.”

Changbin couldn't believe it. He couldn’t even say he saw it coming.

“But when?” Changbin was quick to ask. “How? Why didn’t you tell me? And is that why you ask him to move in with you?”

“August 1st, while I looked at him doing his cute little frown and adorable freckles as he did his homework on our dining table, because you and Chris don’t keep secrets from each other and no, that was me trying to help you guys. Truly.” He added as he saw Changbin’s expression change.

“Chris and I don’t tell each other everything.”

“That’s true, because you won’t tell him about this.” Changbin’s ears turned red. “You already thought about it, didn’t you?”

“Maybe.”

“Look Binnie, I will tell Chan before I ask him out, okay?” Changbin nodded. “But let me court him first, and if things end well, since I don’t even know if he likes me back, then I’ll tell Chris.”

“Okay.”

“But you have to promise me, Binnie, no telling Chris.”

“I promise.”

Changbin raised his pinky towards Hyunjin and the blonde locked his own pinky with his.

“Bestie promise.”

“Bestie promise.” Hyunjin exhaled a long breath and slumped his shoulders back.

“Ok, let’s talk, date plan.”

Yeah, Hyunjin was going to regret this.

—Felix. Busan. September 5—

“Yes, Chris.” Felix waited for the train doors to open before him. “I have arrived, just now.”

The door opened and Felix exited the train.

“He's already waiting for me in the parking lot.” Felix felt arms wrapped around his waist. “Um, excuse-“ Felix turned around to see a familiar smile with familiar dimples look up at him. “I.N.!”

“Lix!”

Felix wrapped his arms over his best friend’s shoulders and hugged him tightly.

“I’ve missed you!”

Yang Jeongin, or how Felix called him: I.N. was a boy that lived in Busan with his boyfriend of 4 years.

If Felix was asked to give an example of what true love looked like, he would answer with their relationship. Because there wasn’t a most affectionate, protective, and lovable relationship like theirs.

And Felix knew that, from first hand experience.

Jeongin and him met because of his clumsiness. Felix’s clumsiness.

Jeongin had ordered food and Felix was going up to the food truck when Jeongin turned around and disaster ensued. You can already guess what happened, and also the aftermath.

But it was due to that that they became friends. And to Felix's surprise, he was able to reconnect with his childhood friend back when he lived a part of his childhood years with his grandparents in Korea.

And Felix had been sad when he had to move back to Australia, to a house he couldn’t even call home, and leave I.N. behind.

That’s why, now that he moved back to Korea even when it wasn’t under good circumstances, he was happy because he could see Jeongin again.

“Felix?!”

“Felix!?”

“Felix, can you hear me?!”

“Oh.”

Felix let go of Jeongin and placed his phone back over his ear.

“Sorry, Chris.” He said. “Jeongin surprised me, but I’m fine.”

Jeongin looked at Felix patiently.

“He’s here.” Felix nodded to Jeongin to begin walking so they didn’t stand in the way. “Yes, he has his own car.”

Jeongin chuckled.

“So no, we aren’t walking all the way to his house.”

Felix waited until Chris asked all the questions he wanted to ask.

“Yes, I will.” Felix said.

“Alright then, I love you Felix, call me if anything.”

Felix stopped his walking, making Jeongin bumped into him.

“Felix?” Jeongin called, looking over his friend’s shoulder to take a look at his face.

“Uhh…” Felix’s face became red. “I-I do too.”

“I’m glad.”

Was all Christopher said in response.

“Changbin says hi, and to enjoy your stay over at Busan.”

“Thank you.” Felix felt his eyes watered. “To the both of you.”

Felix heard Dwaekki and Berry barking in the background and Chris's voice called out Jisung’s name before the call was cut off.

“Was that your brother?” Jeongin asked.

“Yes.”

Jeongin, unlike other people Felix met, learned English at a young age. So they could communicate without any issues. Although Felix was trying to learn more Korean by speaking it more, like he’s been doing with Hyunjin.

Ah, Hyunjin.

They FaceTime during the train ride until Hyunjin had to return back to his daily duties. (Which involved Kkami and Jiniret on the loose while he cooked something for dinner). Although he said he was having Changbin, Chris, Jisung and Minho over for dinner. Which was also why they finished their FaceTime.

And it wasn’t that Felix didn’t want Chris to know he had become friends with Hyunjin. That was fine, but…. there was something

Something Felix couldn't quite pinpoint but that he could feel.

Something that made Hyunjin (and himself) nervous to think about Chris knowing about them.

Knowing what? He didn’t know.

He wanted to know though.

“Felix.”

“Huh?” Felix looked to his side and saw a worried Jeongin look back at him. “Sorry.”

“Is the time zone finally hitting you?” Felix chuckled.

“No, I was just thinking.”

“Oh, about that Hwang Hyunjin guy?” Felix’s cheeks blushed. “Oh, is there something you haven’t told me, Lix?”

“No…” Felix could feel I.N.‘s eyes on him. “Yes and no.”

“We can talk about it over some good ramen at the house.” Felix’s stomach growled at that moment and Jeongin and him laughed.

“Sounds like a good idea, Jeongin.”

“The door is open!” Hyunjin shouted as he turned off the stove and ran towards his room.

“We’re coming in, Hyunjin.” Chris's voice was heard.

“Yeah! Yeah!” Hyunjin’s voice came from his room.

The apartment 3C tenants plus an extra guest entered Hyunjin’s apartment and were hit with a delicious smell from the kitchen.

“I’ll be right there!” Hyunjin shouted from his room. “Make yourself at home!”

Changbin and Chris went to the kitchen to watch over the stove while Jisung and his fiancé sat on the two barstools in Hyunjin’s kitchen.

“Oh, thank you.” Hyunjin's voice was heard, and everyone turned their heads towards him.

Hyunjin smiled at his best friend and waved at Chris who stirred the ramen pot. Then he looked at Jisung who had his noise cancellation headphones on and lastly he looked at Jisung’s fiancé.

Lee Minho; Jisung’s fiancé who was two years older than him and was almost done with school.

They met in Hyunjin's first semester. They first had one class together; dancing. But then they had Art and English class together as well, and they began talking. Mainly about school and passing notes but once Hyunjin knew Minho was also acquainted with Changbin and Chan, they became friends.

The story between their engagement?

Well, besides love of course, Minho knew about Jisung’s past. And even when it scared Chan and Changbin whether Minho was serious about wanting to be with Jisung, they trusted him. (And it took a lot of effort for them to do so). And Minho had truly fallen in love with Han, with imperfections and all.

So, after a long conversation and deep explanation, Minho knew what he wanted.

And with Chan’s and Changbin’s permission, he asked Jisung to marry him. Jisung was 18 (now he’s 21), and there wasn’t a ring involved either. Minho just asked him, while they laid in his bed back at his apartment, and Jisung had said yes. (It took some convincing because Jisung couldn't believe someone would ever want to marry him so he cried for hours to no end thinking it was just a lie) (Minho knew it was another episode but still helped him get through it and out of it safely)

Eventually Minho got him a necklace to match the bracelet they got each other; and that was his engagement “ring”.

As for Hyunjin? Well, he helped with the engagement dinner. Everyone liked his cooking, which is why when they planned dinners, they would always be at Hyunjin’s apartment.

They haven’t really moved forward or made any plans for the wedding, but Hyunjin guessed Minho was waiting for Han to finish school first.

“Dinner is almost ready.” Hyunjin said.

“Thank you for having us.” Changbin, Chan and Minho bowed to the blonde. “It smells very good.”

“I made a little of everything.” Hyunjin walked up to Chris to turn off the stove. “Want to help me set up?”

“Yeah.”

Changbin and Minho began setting up the table as Jisung moved to the sofa to wait until food was ready.

—Busan—

“I’m home.” Jeongin announced as he opened the door of his apartment.

Felix hid behind him as Jeongin’s boyfriend didn’t know that he was visiting.

“I’m in the kitchen.” A voice was heard.

Jeongin motioned Felix to follow him quietly.

“Babe, I found something strange outside.”

“Strange?” There was some rustling in the kitchen and Jeongin moved to the side as his boyfriend’s figure came into the living room. “Is it a box? I’m waiting for a pack…-“

“Hi, MinMin.” Felix said, with a smile.

“F-Felix?”

“I’m back, Minnie.”

“Oh my god.”

The boy hugged Felix tightly, and the blue-haired boy returned the hug even more tightly.

“I’ve missed you, Lix.”

Kim Seungmin was Felix’s childhood friend. They went to taekwondo classes together (Felix spent his first 5 years of taekwondo in Korea and the rest in Australia).

Seungmin was the first and only friend he made the first time he came to Korea. Felix couldn’t communicate well due to his English, and Seungmin had noticed at one of their practices. So, Seungmin decided to help him and since then they became friends.

Seungmin is like Felix’s other half, platonically.

They share everything (even when Jeongin’s was his best friend, there were some things Felix just told Seungmin. Not for not trusting I.N. but because Seungmin just knew what to say or do, or sometimes what to not do or say). They made many plans together for the future (like living together) but due to Felix having to return to Australia, they never accomplished any of them.

Maybe with Felix being back, they could do some of those things.

Seungmin and Felix also had a special story…

Seungmin was Felix’s first love

And Felix was Seungmin’s first love

They were each other’s first everything; first date, first anniversary, first kiss (given by Seungmin), first movie night, first dinner date, first Valentine’s day gift. First time falling in love.

But sadly, and due to Felix’s mom, he moved back.

And Seungmin and him broke up.

Not for lack of feelings (Felix to this day still loved him with all his heart) but because they both knew it wasn’t going to work. Seungmin’s parents already didn’t think well of Felix because of who he was, plus the distance and Felix’s mom was probably going to just add the fact that her son liked other boys to the “reasons why my son is a disappointment” list and proceed to make his life a living hell. (Not that it already wasn’t)

So Felix left Korea, left Seungmin and their relationship for a place he wished could burn to ashes so that he didn't have to return back to it anymore.

When Seungmin saw Felix again was through his boyfriend; Jeongin. And when they saw each other, they didn’t know how to really react, especially with Jeongin right there and with both their feelings resurfacing from where they lay hidden, under lock and key.

Felix was respectful though, and he told Jeongin the truth. So did Seungmin. And I.N. thought of taking a break with Seungmin to think about the situation, especially when Seungmin admitted to him that there would always be a special place for Felix’s in his heart.

But Felix had known better. And he had known before they did; whatever he and Seungmin had had, was never coming back.

Why?

Because first love only happened once, and their chance was long gone. And even if they still cherished each other, there was no space for love; especially the love that was now reserved for your one and true love.

And Felix understood that; and it hurt him.

It hurt him to have found his first love again after so many years but having to let him go because it was the right thing to do. Because they couldn’t go back to what they had once before.

Because he wasn’t his anymore.

But Felix learned to heal, and became best friends with Jeongin and became Seungmin’s other half (in a platonic way). They learned to cherish each other, and be there for each other (like before) but as close friends.

And they were okay with that.

Felix saw how happy Jeongin made Seungmin and how Seungmin adored Jeongin by the way he looked at him when I.N. wasn’t looking, and Felix knew he made the right decision by letting him go.

Because they were each other’s true love.

And Felix wasn’t going to take that away.

“I’ve missed you, Lix.”

“Me too.” Seungmin ruffled Felix’s blue hair.

“Blue hair?”

“Something new for a change.” Seungmin looked at Jeongin and back at Felix.

“Does this have anything to do with that guy Innie doesn’t stop mentioning?” Felix’s cheeks became red.

“Oh, wait until you hear about him, Minnie.” Jeongin said as he pulled Felix’s suit case inside the house and closed the door behind him.

Felix smiled, glad to be back with his friends after so long.

—September 15—

“Are you almost done, Felix?”

“Yes.”

The bedroom door was open at the same time as Hyunjin raised his hand to knock on it.

Felix stood at the door, blue hair tied back in a half ponytail with the bottom half loose and in blonde hair dye. He wore a white button shirt with a black leather jacket, both sleeveless. Long jeans with the same compact boots he wore when he and Hyunjin met for the first time.

“Wow.”

Hyunjin locked eyes with Felix and saw that he was wearing some makeup. He had glitter in the corner of his eyes that spread back to his temples. His freckles were in full display and it made Hyunjin’s heart beat fast.

“You look gorgeous.” Hyunjin said.

“T-Thank you.”

By now, both boys were able to communicate in English and Korean without so much trouble compared to when they met.

“Is this good for where we’re heading?” Felix asked, reaching for his phone and wallet. Hyunjin noticed he wore rings and he took a mental note about it for future reference.

“Yes, it’s perfect.”

Felix smiled and Hyunjin let him pass to exit his room.

“Is it a long way from here?”

“Kind of, 45 minutes if we take the highway.”

“Are we taking the highway?” Felix asked, stopping at the door.

“Maybe.” Hyunjin answered, teasing. Felix blushed and walked out of the apartment.

Today was their date and Hyunjin had so much planned out, he couldn’t wait to get to the farm.

—Seo’s Farm—

“Are we there yet?”

When there were 10 minutes left before arriving, Hyunjin told Felix to cover his eyes with a bandana he had on his bag.

Hyunjin parked the car.

“I guess that’s a yes.” Felix said.

“Yes.” Hyunjin unbuckled his seatbelt. “Don’t take off the bandana, okay?” Felix nodded and the blonde got out of the car.

Hyunjin opened the door for Felix and helped him get out.

“Is the bandana really necessary?”

“Yes.”

Hyunjin closed the door with his leg and began guiding Yongbok towards the entrance.

“Okay, take off the bandana.”

Felix removed the bandana, blinked a couple of times to adjust to the light and the first thing he saw was a path made with rocks.

He followed the path and it took his gaze to the big farmhouse at the end.

“A farm?”

“Yup.” Hyunjin nodded, proudly. “We’re horseback riding.” Felix’s eyes sparkled, he’d always wanted to go horseback riding.

“Oh my god, thank you so much, Jinnie.” Felix clung to Hyunjin’s neck and began jumping excitedly.

“This is just the beginning.” Felix looked up at Hyunjin, with his arms still wrapped around the older’s neck. “Happy Birthday, Yongbok.”

“Best birthday so far.” Felix placed a kiss over Hyunjin’s cheek without thinking about it and walked away.

Hyunjin stood there, completely shocked and a blush creeping into his cheeks.

“Come on, Jinnie!” Felix called.

Hyunjin shuddered, and with his heart beating fast, he ran towards Yongbok.

—2 Hours Later—

“Where are we going?”

“It’s a surprise.”

Hyunjin guided Felix through the trees of the farm’s forest (which was their back yard pretty much) through a small path he asked to be made with blue petals.

“There’s more?”

“Obviously.” Hyunjin didn’t see it, but Felix blushed.

Hyunjin came to a stop, and pulled Felix to a stop too.

“Ok, are you ready?” Felix nodded. “I’m letting you go but don’t take off the bandana yet.”

“Okay…” Felix sounded worried.

“Don’t worry, everything’s going to be fine.” Hyunjin reasssured and walked away.

He walked around Felix towards the table that was set up across from them. On it was a cake that had its candles already lit up, balloons tied up to the desk and tape to the table was a sign.

Hyunjin knelt and reached for something under the table.

“Take it off, Yongbok.”

Felix untied the knot behind his head and let the bandana fall to his hands.

“Happy birthday!” Hyunjin shouted, stretching a bouquet of blue and white flowers towards Felix.

“Oh, you didn’t have-“ Something caught Felix’s attention.

The big sign in front of the table was white, it had been hand-drawn on, and it had something written in big letters.

Felix’s heart stopped beating.

I can’t bring down the stars for you, but I promise to trace every single constellation in your face for as long as you let me.

Do you want to be my boyfriend?

Hyunjin walked around the table, bouquet in hand, and walked up to Felix.

“Bokie.” Felix looked up, his hands shook at his side and his heart was pounding against his chest. “Can I be your boyfriend?”

Felix didn’t wait another second before pulling Hyunjin in for a kiss.

Hyunjin wrapped his arm around Felix’s waist and pulled him closer. Felix almost tripped due to being on his tippy toes but managed to keep his balance and the kiss intact.

When Hyunjin felt Felix bend a little at his knees, he backed away and allowed the boy to breathe. Felix pulled him closer and Hyunjin bumped his nose with Felix’s.

“It’s okay, Yongbok.” Hyunjin said, reaching his thumb to Felix’s cheek and tracing over some freckles. “We have all the time in the world to kiss now.”

“I’ve been waiting for this for so long.” Felix said, nozzling his nose with Hyunjin’s. “I thought you would never ask.”

“Well,” Hyunjin smiled and gave Felix a small peck on the lips. “Sorry to keep you waiting, my sunshine.”

Felix tilted his head sideways and Hyunjin didn’t waste time pressing their lips together again.

“I have one more surprise.” Felix looked up at Hyunjin who smiled down at him.

“More?” Hyunjin chuckled and pressed his forehead against Felix’s.

“One more.”

“Are we almost there, Jinnie?”

“Yes.” Hyunjin guided Felix through the farmhouse by his waist. “One more step.”

Felix felt Hyunjin pulled him to the side and then stop. He felt fingers untie the bandana’s knot and it fell off his face.

“Open your eyes.”

Felix did so, blinking a couple of times, and met a coop in front of him.

“A coop?”

“Yeah.” Hyunjin took a step towards the coop and opened the door. “Fill with baby chicks.”

Felix’s eyes watered. Baby chicks?

“You brought me…” Felix’s voice broke. “Here…” Felix sniffled. “To see baby chicks?”

“That’s my birthday gift to you, baby.”

Felix couldn’t respond because soon enough, the noise of small baby chicks filled his ears and when he looked down, he was being surrounded by small and puffy yellow feather baby chicks.

“Here, feed them.” Felix saw Hyunjin place a small bag of food on his palm. “Be happy, baby.” Felix couldn’t help the sob that escaped his mouth.

“I love you.” He hugged Hyunjin tightly. “I love you so much.”

And Hyunjin didn’t ignore the way his heart reacted to those words.

Felix was about to back away from the hug to apologize for being so abrupt, they had just begun their relationship and he didn’t want to seem desperate. But Hyunjin wrapped his long arms around his waist and pulled him close.

“I love you too.”

The day was perfect.

“Hyunjin, I thought you said there were no more surprises.” Felix groaned as he entered his and Hyunjin’s apartment.

“There aren’t.” Hyunjin said, closing the door behind them. “But Chan was very specific to not let you see his and Hannah’s gift for you before taking a video of it for him and Hannah.”

“Okay, okay.”

As far as Felix knew, Chan was still in Australia with Changbin and Jisung for vacation. And that’s why he had sent his gift along with Hannah’s.

But the truth was that, while Chan did go to Australia, he brought his sister back along with him. And along the way, they picked up two special people.

Hyunjin turned Felix around, who had his eyes closed, and then turned the light switch on.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”

Felix first got startled, then surprised, and finally so happy he began sobbing.

“No, don’t cry.” Jeongin hugged Yongbok as he sobbed on his neck.

“You’re supposed to be happy on your birthday.” Seungmin said as he rubbed the blue-haired boy’s back.

“I-I am.” Felix mumbled, slobbering all over Jeongin’s neck.

All three of them laid on the couch; Felix over Jeongin’s side, Seungmin behind him, hugging him.

Hyunjin stood at the kitchen counter, a drink in hand, looking at his now boyfriend (wow he never thought he would say that word in a sentence) cry on his best friend’s shoulder.

Hyunjin smiled wide, and took a sip of his drink.

“So, brother stealer.” A voice came from his left. Hyunjin choked on his juice and spit it back into the cup. “I don’t think we’ve been properly introduced yet.” Hyunjin looked to his left and saw Hannah Bang standing next to him, eyes on Felix.

“We need to have a talk, brother stealer.” Hyunjin looked to his right and saw Chan also standing next to him, eyes on Felix too.

“We are happy that he has found a place to call home.” Hannah said, taking a sip of her drink.

“But it doesn't mean we’re letting you off the hook just for giving him a place to call home.” Chan gave a small smile to Changbin who looked at him from the table where he talked to Jisung about something.

“If you make even the slightest mistake, if even the slightest tear falls down his face, if he looks sad even in the slightest, we will come for you.” Hannah placed her glass on the counter making Hyunjin feel goosebumps all over his body.

“He’s not only your sunshine.” Chan said, making Hyunjin confused.

That was until he saw Seungmin looking directly at him. No expression, no smile, just a straight neutral face.

“Take the sunshine’s light out,” For the first time in the whole conversation, both Bang siblings looked at Hyunjin. “And we’ll make you pay for it.”

Hyunjin swallowed deeply, his entire body frozen.

“Nice to meet you, Hyunjin.” Hannah smiled brightly, like she hadn’t just threatened his life a few seconds ago, and patted his shoulder. “Welcome to our messed up family.”

Chan laughed and patted Hyunjin’s shoulder too before leaving to sit on the couch.

“The pleasure is mine, Hannah.”

Hannah gripped his shoulder before excusing herself to use the restroom.

Hyunjin saw Changbin walk up to him.

“Don’t let them play with your head.”

“It’s not them I’m mostly worried about.” Changbin followed Hyunjin’s gaze towards the couch where Seungmin laughed over Felix’s arm.

“You don’t need to feel threatened.” Changbin said. “What happened between them happened, and that’s that. It’s the past Jinnie, they are just good friends now.”

“I know, and that’s why I worried.”

“Because Seungmin knows about you guys? He seems pretty chill about it.”

“No.” Hyunjin turned around, facing his best friend. “Because Seungmin knows what a heart break does, well did, to Yongbok, and he’s protective because of that.”

“Because he has first hand experience.” Hyunjin nodded. “Everything’s going to be fine.”

“You think so?” Changbin nodded.

“And if not, you’ll have me to help you.” Changbin wrapped an arm around Hyunjin’s shoulders and snuggled their cheeks together.

“I think I prefer going to Minho for this sort of thing.”

“Oww, you wound me Hwang Hyunjin.” They both broke out laughing, catching the attention of Felix from the couch.

“Jinnie, come meet Jeongin and Seungmin.”

“Go, your sunshine waits for you.”

Hyunjin smiled at him and nodded.

“Coming babe.”

Hyunjin walked to the couch and sat across from Felix, not wanting to seperate the trio. Not that he could by the way they were holding onto Felix like two little kids with bad social anxiety.

“Babe, this is Innie, or I.N., my best friend.” Jeongin smiled politely and shook his hand. “And this is my childhood friend, Minnie.”

“Nice to meet you, Seungmin.” Hyunjin said.

“It’s good to finally meet you.” Seungmin said back, with a straight face.

The conversation kept going from there and all Hyunjin could concentrate on was Felix and only Felix.

And that was the only thing that mattered.

—Years Later—

“And this is where I used to work.”

Hyunjin was being dragged by Felix who kept showing him around.

“And this is the path I used to take to go back home after school or work.”

Hyunjin looked down the pathway, too sketchy for his own liking.

“Oh, oh.” Hyunjin was pulled hard by his hand and almost fell. “This is where I met Chris for the first time.”

In front of Hyunjin was a big fountain where many people were taking pics, throwing pennies into or just sitting on the edge.

“I was leaving the courtroom with my dad and the social worker and Hannah and him were waiting for us here.”

Hyunjin listened closely just like he closely paid attention to every reaction Felix had.

“Gosh, I missed home so much”

Australia

Hyunjin never, in his 26 years of life, thought he would ever visit another country. He always said he wouldn’t, too troublesome to even bother.

But here he was, visiting Felix’s hometown; Sydney, and visiting some places in which Felix spent most of his early years.

“We have to go to the Sydney Harbor Bridge.” Felix said. “And to the beach.”

“We have two weeks Felix, we have time.”

“No, no, but you don’t understand.”

And Hyunjin was in for a long rambling.

—Two Days Later—

The group (because they all went to Australia. Chan and Felix visiting Hannah (and their dad), Hyunjin to see Australia for Felix, Changbin (who by now has been countless of times to Australia) came for Chan and brought Berry and Dwaekki with them, Jisung because everywhere C2 went; Jisung went, Minho because of Jisung, and Seungmin and Jeongin because they’ve never been to Felix hometown), were all at the beach.

“Hyunjin!” Changbin called. Hyunjin jogged towards their set up tent and towels where Changbin sat with Dwaekki and Berry.

“Yeah?”

“Do you have it?” Hyunjin nodded, patting his pocket. “Hannah says everything is ready.”

“Perfect.” Hyunjin said. “When is she coming to pick them up?”

“She’s already on her way.”

Hyunjin smiled as he turned around in time to see the volleyball hit Minho in the face.

“I’m sorry, Lee Know.” Felix knelt in the sand and bowed to Minho.

Hyunjin laughed.

“Guys, this isn’t funny.” Chan complained.

“Yeah, it’s not.” Felix agreed.

They were both being taken (unwillingly) towards some random and unknown place.

“Can you guys at least tell us where we’re going?”

There was no response except for a small laugh that turned into coughing.

“Kim Seungmin, when I get my hands on you, you’ll see.”

They suddenly came to a stop and Felix felt sand under his feet.

“We’re back at the beach?” There was no answer, again.

“Guys?” Chris called.

Soft music began playing; Chris recognized the melody as “Be Together” by BTOB

“Guys?” Felix called.

“When I first saw you…”

“Hyunjin?”

“My eyes couldn’t believe such beauty could exist in this world.”

“Binnie?”

“And I didn’t think I would take such interest in someone who’s so different from me.”

Felix’s body froze.

“But I couldn’t help but fall for all your charms, sweet smiles, loud laughs that would fill the room, and beautiful eyes.”

Chan felt his breath hitched.

“You made me realize how stupid I was.” Felix’s hands shook. “I had one rule; one, and you made me break it in the first week.”

“I love seeing you work so hard for your family; the family that you're building now, that I can’t wait for us to have our own family.” Chan’s chest swelled.

“When you hated your name, I loved every single syllable of it.” Felix’s breath got stuck on his throat.

“I took it upon myself to remind you how beautiful Christopher can be.” Chan’s eyes watered behind the bandana. “How he can be just as helpful as Bang Chan, just as strong and just as beautiful.”

“When you hated Yongbok because it reminded you of the painful years you had to endure as a child; I reminded you that Yongbok can also do things Felix can. Things like singing, composing, dancing. Even rapping, phew, have you heard Yongbok rap?” Felix chuckled between sniffles.

Christopher is just as important as Bang Chan to me. Maybe even a little more.” Chan was trying to hold back his tears. “Because while I met Bang Chan first, the person who I fell for was Christopher Bang. Not Bang Chan, or Channie, or CB97, or  JYP’s prodigy, no.”

“I fell in love with Felix because he was clumsy, funny and so charismatic it made me sick at first.” Felix laughed this time. “But I fell in love with Yongbok because he was so honest, tender, and so kind that it made my heart swell.”

“I fell in love with Christopher because he’s my other half.” Chan couldn’t hold it anymore, tears began rolling down his face. “He’s my soulmate, the person I want to someday share a house with, the person I would like to spend the rest of my life with.”

Chris’s breathing became short and quick.

“He’s the love of my life, my one and only, my home.”

“I love both versions of you, but if you would ask me to choose, I would choose Yongbok.” Felix felt tears building up in his eyes. “And not because Felix is less than Yongbok; but because while I saw Yongbok study with his cute little frown, adorable pout and beautiful freckles, it’s when I knew I wanted to be with him for the rest of my life.”

“When I saw myself doing the things I said I never would; like falling in love, is when I knew you were the one for me. Because you made me discover parts of me I didn’t know I had or that I wanted to ever show to anyone.”

“Because while Felix was the first person I met, and the first impression I got, Yongbok captured my heart in all its glory. Because while Felix made me laugh and shout, Yongbok made me smile and feel complete inside.”

“Because while I liked Felix,” Felix felt a hand on his cheek. “I loved Yongbok.”

“So, Christopher.” Chan felt a hand on his face. “I’ve come here, this day, in front of our family,” Chan’s bandana was being untied.

“Yongbok, I never knew I wanted to visit another country more than I wanted to visit Australia; your home.” Felix’s bandana was being untied too. “But here I am today, in Sydney, your home, and in front of the small family that has become your own, to ask such an important question.”

Both bandanas fell off.

“Do you want to,”

Changbin and Hyunjin got on one knee.

“Do me the honor of marrying me,”

They took a box out of their pockets.

“And becoming my husband…”

They opened the box as they took their partners hands.

“To spend the rest of our lives together?”

Chan and Felix looked down, both with tears in their face, at their boyfriends who knelt on the sand with a ring box in their hand.

The scenery was beautiful; even when Felix and Chan hadn't noticed yet.

There were rose petals around them, making a heart. The sand was combined with blue and orange glitter (both Chan’s and Felix’s favorite colors). There were two bamboo torches at the end of the heart, which face towards the ocean where the sun was going down; making the most beautiful sunset behind them.

Minho was not wasting his time on looking, he was capturing every single moment.

“I-I…” Chan tried to say something but no words came out. He looked at Jisung. “Did you know about this?”

“We all did.” Han answered.

“Hyunjin help me pick the ring.” Binnie said, with a smile as he looked at his best friend.

Binnie.” Chan pouted, a new flow of tears coming down his cheeks.

“Don’t cry, Chris.” Chan covered his face and began sobbing.

He knew what getting married meant for him; he could give up his family’s name and finally be free from his dad’s undying mental abuse.

Chris’s knees gave out and he knelt on the ground too.

“Come here.” Changbin hugged him tightly, placing the box next to them. “I love you, okay? Always know that, no matter what.” Chan nodded on Changbin’s neck. “Everything’s going to be okay, baby.”

“Yongbok-“

“Yes!” Felix kissed Hyunjin on the lips. “Yes! Yes! Yes! And a hundred times yes!” Hyunjin laughed at his boyfriend’s reaction but kissed him back nonetheless.

They grew apart for some air and because Felix wouldn’t stop making little jumps due to the excitement.

“I love you, you hear?” Hyunjin cradled Felix’s face in between his hands. “I love every single part of you, okay?” Their foreheads met and so did their gazes. “I love you, Lee Yongbok Felix.”

“I love you too, Jinnie.” Hyunjin leaned in for a slower kiss, Felix responded more calm this time around.

“Chan…” Changbin tried to look at his boyfriend’s face but he wouldn’t budge. “Chris, let me see your face.”

Chan shook his head sideways.

“Is that your answer?” Changbin asked, giving up on moving his boyfriend. Chan shook his head again. “So then, what is it?”

Chan sniffled and pulled his face away from Changbin’s neck.

“Of course I want to marry you, you dumb bunny.” Changbin smiled, a chuckle escaping him, and kissed Chris on the lips. He reached for the box and took out the ring. He reached for Chan’s left hand.

“I love you, Christopher.” He said as he slipped the ring in his finger. Chan looked at the silver round band that was now decorating his ring finger.

“I love you too, Lewis.” Changbin blushed and Minho began laughing loudly. Like, very loudly. Thank god the beach was empty because if not, they would be getting weird looks from people. Not that they cared.

“We agree to never bring that up, ever again.” Chan laughed.

“I know.”

“Here.” Hyunjin reached for Yongbok’s left hand. “Hannah and Changbin helped me choose it.” The blue-haired boy looked down at his ring finger where a silver ring with two lines in white ran in the middle was now resting on. “The two lines represent us.”

“Running in an endless cycle side by side.” Felix said. “Always together.”

“Yeah.” Felix sniffled, tears forming again, and hugged Hyunjin.

“I love you.” He said. “And I’m happy I bumped into you that day at the cafeteria.” Hyunjin smiled and hugged him by the waist.

“No one's more happy than me.”

When everything got settled, and after a long photoshoot by Minho  and Hannah, everyone began heading out to the parking lot.

“Wait.” Chris reached inside his pocket. “With the surprise and all my emotions everywhere, I totally forgot about this.”

Everyone saw how Chan took out a box, just like Changbin’s and Hyunjin’s, and opened it to show three rings. Two thin silver rings and a thicker silver ring, all with three initials engraved inside.

I was supposed to ask you to marry me.” Chan said, making everyone smile and laugh. “And Hannah knew about it.”

“Sorry.” The girl said, like she hadn’t been the main accomplice in everything

“But now that that’s settled, there is one more thing I need to do.”

Chan turned to Han.

“Jisung, when I went to buy Binnie’s ring I got some news.” Chan let go of Binnie’s hand and walked up to Han. “The lawyers were able to make your father give up his parental rights.”

Minho’s phone slipped off his hands.

“And it’s going to take just a little more time to get the papers settled but…“ Han began shedding tears even before Chris finished. “You can soon be a Seo too, Hannie.”

Jisung hugged Chan, almost making him fall on the sand.

“Thank you so much!” Han sobbed. “Thank you! Thank you!”

“I would do this and more for you, Jisung.”

“Are you okay, Minho?” Felix asked.

“What do the rings mean?” Seungmin asked.

“While I was at the ring store, and after I got the news, I got so happy I kind of started crying in the middle of the store.”

“It was so embarrassing.” Hannah chimed in.

But, thanks to that, I got an idea.” Chan took one ring in his hand. “Each ring has three initials engraved inside.”

Everyone took a step closer, except for Hannah, and looked at the ring. Chris turned it so it showed the inside, and everyone saw the letters S.B, J, CB engraved into the metal.

“I wasn’t sure what I wanted to engrave on the inside, and I was mainly going for our name initials but then Hannah said something.”

“I did?”

‘Back to where everything started? Really Chris? We’re going back to the start?’ and I knew what letters I wanted to use.”

“I’m still confused.” Jisung said, reaching for the ring. Chris looked at Changbin and by the small tears he had on his eyes, he knew he understood.

“Is our beginning.” Changbin said, wiping off his eyes. “Back to when everything began for us, for 3RACHA.” Jisung’s mouth made a big O

“SpearB, J.One, and CB97.”

SpearB. J.One. CB97.

The beginning of a new era; a new family

“Yeah.” Chris said, softly.

“Aww, thanks dad.” Jisung said, teasing.

“Please, do not call me that.”

Everyone began laughing.

“I prefer Wolf Chan, thank you very much.” Chris made a pout.

“Okay, okay.” Jisung slipped his ring on his index finger. “Thank you, Wolf Chan.”

“You're welcome.”

Changbin walked closer and allowed Chris to slip his ring on his ring finger.

“I cannot express enough how badly I want to kiss you right now, Channie.”

“What’s stopping you?”

“Us!” Everyone shouted.

“Yeah, please, not in front of the children.” Everyone covered Jeongin’s eyes.

“Really?” Jeongin said, sarcastically.

After that, everyone began running on the beach towards the parking lot.

Changbin and Chan stayed behind, looking at the other six.

“We made a good decision in making this family?” Changbin hugged his fiancé closer.

“Yes, yes we did.”

“Yongbok!” They heard from afar.

They turned their heads and saw Hyunjin picking up Felix from the ground and running towards the ocean.

“No, Hyunjin!” Felix shouted. “I didn’t bring a change of clothes!”

Hyunjin’s laugh was heard all over the beach.

Chan was so happy his brother found a safe place to call home, even if that wasn’t Australia anymore.

“My sweet Australian boy.”

Chan mumbled under his breath, his eyes on Felix who was now getting wet by Hyunjin and Jeongin.

“Welcome home.”

But God, I love the English”
