Work Text:

Scythe was into Vinestaff and that wasn’t a secret.

Vinestaff was feisty towards her and she liked that.

She wanted to break every bone in her body and drink her blood. She wanted to chop off her beautiful pink horns and mount them on her wall. She wanted Vinestaff’s legs to be wrapped around her waist as their bodies collided in a tight embrace of want and need.

Medkit had caught her staring at the other healer a few times during phights and had to snap her back to reality. It had the medic slightly worried for his boss, sometimes communicating with Broker that they should step in and do something about it. But the two acolytes never did anything about it, they just hoped she would get over it and do something about it herself.

“You alright?” Medkit would ask when he caught his boss staring at the pink-horned woman from a distance.

“Yeah. I’m fine!” Scythe would reply.

But that was a lie.

Scythe was really interested in Vinestaff. She wondered what the taste of her lipstick would be, biting her lip as she imagined a strawberry flavor pressing against her mouth for a kiss.

Scythe wanted to claim Vinestaff, make her hers, mark her body, and tear her clothes up. She wanted to hurt Vinestaff in a way that would make the healer cry cute tears of pain, begging for her life. But Scythe would only continue her torture on her, all while pressing kisses to her unclothed chest.

It wasn’t a secret that she liked hurting people either. She’s a serial killer after all.

She wanted to break Vinestaff.

She wanted to kill her and keep her corpse all to herself so she wouldn't be able to run away, kissing the top of her cold head every morning.

She wanted to make Vinestaff cry and bleed, mark her with deep cuts and scratches of her claws. She wanted to skin her alive and wear her skin as a coat, so she could truly be one with her.

She was sick in the head. Vinestaff would never love someone as twisted as her, especially since she has the highest bounty in Crossroads stapled to her head. Especially since she wanted to show her love to Vinestaff in the most painful ways possible.

Scythe would always target Vinestaff during phights, just so she could get closer to her. Just so she could hear the healer squeal in fear as she tried to scramble away, music to her ears.

But Vinestaff didn’t want to be with her, and that was clear. She wanted nothing to do with the cult leader.

But Scythe couldn’t let that slip past.

It was the round after a phight. Everyone was taking a break. Demons were scattered all over the main building as Valk and Dom scheduled the next round.

Scythe spotted Vinestaff, she was quite easy to spot considering her long jagged horns poking out of any crowd.

Scythe walked towards her.

“Hey, good lookin’.”

The healer stiffened defensively and slowly turned around to face the other.

“Um. Hi?”

Scythe had a glimmer in her eye and a shine in her toothy smirk.

“Do you need something?” Vinestaff had asked.

Scythe only chuckled.

“Yer’ quite cute.”

Vinestaff’s face blushed.

“I would rather not take compliments from someone like you.”

“Oh c’mon! What’s it gon’ do to ya?”

Vinestaff clutched her staff, clearly nervous and uncomfortable with this situation and setting. She gulped.

“Is that seriously all you wanted to say to me?”

“Well, no. I wanted to take ya up on an offer.”

Vinestaff’s brow raised.

“And that is?”

“You. Me. We don’ know each other very well, but I’m quite interested in ya. I’d like to offer you a night out.”

“Like out to eat? I already work at a cafe.”

“No silly, we’re gonna go far and beyond that. I wanna take you somewhere special. Trust me, you’ll love it,” the killer shook her head with a smirk.

Vinestaff bit her lip.

Should she really be considering this? Maybe she’d been too harsh on Scythe…

“Fine,” she huffed.

“Meet me in the middle of Crossroads tonight,” Scythe winked.

“Tonight?!”

“Betta’ soona’ than lata’, right?”

Vinestaff sighed, “I guess.”

Soon, that time came.

Scythe spotted Vinestaff nervously standing in the small crowd of people and she walked up to her, holding out her hand. Vinestaff looked at her and hesitantly obliged, taking her hand in hers.

Scythe began walking and Vinestaff trailed behind her, their hands still locked together.

“Do we really have to hold hands?”

“Just trust me, darlin’.”

Scythe took her to Lost Temple, Vinestaff’s hand stiffened in her hold.

“You better not be taking me to that cult of yours. I want nothing to do with it.”

“Don’ worry! This has nothin’ to do with that. Just trust me.”

They kept walking until they eventually reached an area of palm trees.

They trudged on until they reached a small oasis. Vinestaff’s eyes widened.

“It’s… beautiful.”

“Glad ya think so! It’s one of Lost Temple’s only oases.”

The palm trees were tall above their heads and the sun beat down above them.

Vinestaff unlocked her hand from Scythe’s making Scythe sigh in displeasure. The healer walked closer and the killer followed close behind. Vinestaff knelt down and touched the water with her hand, it was sparkly and clear and it felt cold and fresh against her skin. It was nice.

“I told ya that you’d like it.”

Vinestaff got up and sighed.

“I’m sorry for being so harsh on you,” she said while her back was still turned to the killer.

Scythe blinked and shook her head.

“It’s okay. I understand why people have a hard time trustin’ me at first. But you still trusted me enough to let me take you here.”

“I guess you’re right,” Vinestaff turned around to face her with a smile.

Scythe smiled back.

And as she did, she thought.

Oh how pretty Vinestaff’s corpse would look in her arms.
