Work Text:

Tim Drake, also known as the third Robin, was always an early riser. As a vigilante, he had to be up before the city awoke, and so he would often be found in the Batcave, brewing himself a cup of coffee.

One morning, as he sipped his coffee and reviewed surveillance footage, he heard the sound of footsteps behind him. He turned around to find his adoptive father, Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman, standing behind him.

"Morning, Tim," Bruce said, his voice gruff as always.
"Morning, Bruce," Tim replied, setting down his coffee mug. "Did you need something?"
Bruce shook his head. "No, I just wanted to see how you were doing."

Tim raised an eyebrow. Bruce wasn't usually one for small talk. "I'm fine," he said, a little warily.
Bruce nodded. "Good. You know, I always admired your work ethic, Tim. You're up before the sun every day, working hard to keep Gotham safe."
Tim shrugged. "It's just what I do."

Bruce smiled. "Well, I thought I'd do something to show my appreciation. How about we have a little coffee tasting competition?"

Tim's eyes lit up. He was a bit of a coffee snob, and he loved trying new blends and roasts. "You're on, Bruce."
Bruce went to work, brewing two different blends of coffee. Tim watched him carefully, taking note of the beans and the brewing methods he used.

They each took a sip of the first coffee, and Tim immediately recognized it as a blend from a local roaster he frequented. He smiled, feeling confident.
The second coffee was different - stronger, with a hint of chocolate. Tim was stumped.
"Okay, Bruce, I have to admit, I'm stumped. What blend is this?"

Bruce grinned. "It's my own blend, actually. I call it Dark Knight Roast."
Tim raised an eyebrow. "Dark Knight Roast?"
Bruce nodded. "I've been working on it for a while now. I wanted something that would give me a boost on those late nights."

Tim took another sip, and he had to admit, it was good. "Wow, Bruce, this is really good. You should sell it."
Bruce shook his head. "Nah, I think I'll just keep it for myself."
They finished their coffee, and Tim couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie with Bruce. They were partners, sure, but they were also family in a way he supposed

As Tim left the Batcave to start his day, he felt energized, ready to take on whatever Gotham had in store for him. And he knew that no matter what, he had the support of his family - and a really good cup of coffee.

Notes:

Welp this is my first fanfic on this account, I wanted another account for my bat family centric post and, can you tell I’m very Tim biased but anyways I hope you guys like it - Galactic
