Chapter Text
this is the intro to the main original character and a kind of summarized version of how she started out. this is a character i made many years ago and her story has changed a lot. new to you guys, old and revisited to me.
“this is your sister.” their dad said to them, but how about we back up a little bit to explain how all of this happened.
mr. wheeler was never the shining example of a good father, or even a good person. he was able to charm women, but once they realized what type of person he was, they usually ran for the hills. out of those women, he married one, and had two children with her. eventually, she high tailed it with her youngest daughter and their son, joey was left behind in the care of this reckless and irresponsible man.
there was one other woman that he had a daughter with that nobody really knew about. this was while mr. wheeler was married to joey’s mother, and it was a very turbulent and frantic love affair. mr. wheeler convinced this poor woman that he was unconditionally in love with her, but she knew that something was wrong with him. alcoholism and a gambling addiction made her realize that she was in deeper trouble than she ever expected, especially when she turned up pregnant. how the absolute hell did he manage any of this?
when mr. wheeler said to her that he would never be there for her or her unborn child, this poor woman was devastated. she had to seek comfort in her family in hopes that they would not completely shut her out as well. this unborn child would never know the likes of this man if she could help it. she only vaguely explained things to her parents, because if they ever found out the truth… well…
what she didn’t plan on was the future that changed everything.
misty jane wheeler was fifteen when her mother tragically left her. there was rain, because there was always rain, and a drunk driver on the highway who was selfish enough to think they could control themselves behind the wheel. wasn’t that how it always panned out? characters lost their mother some way shape or form, and had a bag of trauma always over their shoulders for the rest of their lives…
when that happened, misty’s world was drastically shaken up further when she found out that her mother’s family, whom she had loved for her whole fifteen years, wanted nothing more to do with misty. when her mother died, the secrets came out, and misty was forced to face the man that helped create her. how could her mother have an affair with a married man? how come her grandparents were so quick to evict her out of their lived without hesitation?
she was too young to understand, but never too young to be angry and resentful.
by the time she thought about all the things she could say to her grandparents, it was already too late, and misty was being whisked away to west domino city to start her new life.
misty didn’t know what to think about mr. wheeler. she didn’t know what to think about how he acted, or the fact that he reeked of alcohol and cigarettes. he drove like he was kind of dozing off, and she hadn’t exactly been sure how they made it to the wheeler house in one piece. her mother had just died by the actions of a drunk driver, and now she was going to have a life living with an alcoholic? what type of cruel karmatic universe bullshit was this?
“this is gonna be your room, now, i guess.” joey said to misty when he had carried her belongings through the hallway and then ultimately into the bedroom.
she looked around and could see the remnants of a bedroom that once belonged to a younger girl. apparently it was formerly joey and misty’s sister’s room before that all went downhill. misty wasn’t about to ask why joey was being so vague and shut down about it, but she also just didn’t care at the moment. this was going to be the worst new chapter of her life and she just wanted to run off somewhere and never be found.
she couldn’t process finding out she had a brother by a man she never met before, much less a whole other sibling by the same man that she wasn’t going to meet any time soon from the looks of it.
misty had a lot to adjust to. new life, siblings, alcoholic father, and now she had to meet a bunch of strangers in a new school. her new brother had a few friends that she refused to talk to, and who she had overheard talking about her once as to why she was so moody and silent all the time. did they not know that she literally lost her mother and had her entire life uprooted against her will? did they not know that her maternal family completely disowned her and sent her away to a gambling alcoholic without blinking?
maybe she thought very selfishly or something, misty wasn’t sure. she also didn’t care at the moment, because it would never get easier at this rate.
