Work Text:
“They mated someone else! I though I had a chance…” Arthur/Logan/Oscar
Logan knew that he wasn’t the only omega that Oscar was friends with, of course he did. Oscar had this presence that drew lots of people in, bets, alphas and omegas were all drawn to his calm dementor. And foolishly Logan though that he was special to the alpha, thought that because they had been friends for years that Oscar would always choose him, even though they’ve never so much as kissed before he thought that their move to F1 together would bring them closer together. But was he about to get the rudest reality check of his life.
***
It was just after summer break and Logan could feel a tension floating around the paddock, a tension that wasn’t there before winter break. He wasn’t sure where it was coming from until he saw Charles marching through the paddock, clearly on a mission. He stomped his way into McLaren, not letting anyone stop him. Logan knew that he probably shouldn’t follow him but clearly, he wasn’t the only one curious as like half of the paddock was following him.
“OSCAR JACK PIASTRI!” Even though Charles was on an omega his voice was as loud as an alpha using their alpha voice. Everyone in the garage turned to look at Charles and it didn’t take long before a very nervous Oscar was emerging from deep in the garage.
“Hi Charles.”
“Don’t ‘hi Charles’ me. You know exactly why I’m here.”
“Charles please just relax and let’s talk like adults. It was an accident; you have to believe me and even though it was an accident I don’t regret it.”
“You mated my brother during his heat after barely courting him and just expect me to have a civil conversation with you right now?” Everyone in the garage turned to look at the pair.
“Charles, can we not do this here.”
“No, we’re going to do this here so you can’t run away from me yet again. Did you even ask Arthur if he wanted to be mated with you, huh? No probably not, you stupid alphas are all the same and just care about yourselves and what you want.”
“Charles, promise we’ll talk but let’s talk in private.” Before Charles could reply Oscar was pulling him into the garage, without giving him a chance to try and refuse. Lando and Carlos followed the pair, probably to mediate if anything happened.
Logan was left standing with everyone else but was feeling numb. Oscar was mated, and to Arthur Leclerc of all people. Logan wasn’t sure how long he stood there but, somehow, he ended up back at Williams. He became aware of his surrounding and realized he was in Alex’s driver’s room. Alex was talking to him, but he wasn’t hearing him, all he could think about was the fact the Oscar was now mated but not with him, that Oscar never even gave him a chance.
“Logan, Logan, can you hear me?” Alex was getting worried about his teammate. He wasn’t sure exactly what happened to make him this disconnected but clearly something was bothering him.
“He mated someone else. I though I had a chance.” Logan said, still staring straight ahead at the wall.
“Who Logan?”
“Oscar.” Alex started to realize what was going on. Honestly, he though that Oscar and Logan were together when they came to Formula1 together last year. The two were very closed for an omega and alpha who were not mated.
“Logan, I’m so sorry.” That seemed to set Logan off, and he started crying. Alex quickly brought his younger teammate into a hug. But it was clear he was in over his head, so he decided to text George to see if the omega knew what to do in this situation. It wasn’t long until George was there, but Logan didn’t notice as he was still crying into Alex’s shoulder. Alex had put in his text what was up so George knew what he was walking into.
“Logan, can you look at me? Please.” Logan very reluctantly lifted his face from Alex’s shoulder and looked at the other omega.
“What?” Logan didn’t mean to snap at George, but his emotions were all coming out at once and he wasn’t sure what to think right now.
“Fuck him, Logan. If he can’t see your worth than he’s not worth it.”
“George!” Alex exclaimed. He brought George in to help Logan feel better not insult Oscar.
“What. If all these years of friendship with Oscar and he hasn’t realized how great you are yet, then clearly he isn’t worth it. So, I’m sure we can find you an alpha who will love you and appreciate you like you deserve. So, screw Oscar, he doesn’t deserve you always.” Alex wasn’t sure how George’s speech would go over but than Logan started smiling.
“Yeah, fuck him. I don’t deserve and alpha who doesn’t appreciates me and ignored me for all these years. There’s an alpha out there who will love me and appreciate me like I deserve. Thanks for that George. Now if you don’t mind, I’d like sometime to myself to process everything that just happened, but don’t worry Alex, I’ll call you later, so you know nothing serious happened.” Logan stood up but before he left gave George and Alex both a hug. “Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.”
Then he was gone, leaving the two friends behind. George was the first to speak.
“I know you like him. Give him a few weeks than ask him out. I’m sure he’ll say yes.”
“George! What the hell.”
“Don’t even try and lie to me about it. We both know I’m right.” George just got up and left, leaving Alex to think about his best friend’s words. Could he and Logan really be together?
