Rui always wanted to hang out with his childhood friend but whenever he wanted to hang out, she was busy with exams. Well, it was exam season so she had to study hard. But he barely studied being too busy with his robots yet he still got As and Bs. With that, he decided to invite her over to do homework with her. He was a year older so he could help her with her studies, but in reality, he just wanted some attention from his precious friend.
When she comes over they just both quietly sit on the floor of his room garage (nobody knows what it is). His room was a mess but at this point, she was used to it. Just seeing the random papers on the floor and decorations hanging from the ceiling didn't surprise her anymore. He set out some blankets for her to lie on because he didn't want her laying on the hard surface. She was so peaceful there just staring at her notebook with her hair falling in her eyes. She was so precious. He couldn't help but just stare at her, not paying attention to anything just her.
"Rui..?" Her little soft voice calls out seeing he was looking at her. He quickly snaps out and looks at her with a little cheeky smile.
"Hello Nene"
"Are you stuck on a question?"
He quickly focused back trying to find an excuse shed believe. His mind was basically blank. He had to be smart because she always knew how to play his game well.
"Yes, I'm stuck. Can you help?"
"You're a year older than me. You know how to solve it"
She rather bluntly mumbled out to him. She was always like this, blunt and sassy with the people she knew, yet shy and reserved whenever out in public. He just laughed and nods. She knew his game well. He looked back at her. God, she was pretty. He felt like he was going to faint from staring at her soft face.. her hair looked so soft just sitting by her side. And her purple eyes just stared up at him. They looked so beautiful just giving his little glances
His gaze went back to his notebook. To clear her suspension he went back to reading his notes but he couldn't keep that up for long. He read his notes again and saw a bit of writing from him as a note
*"Highlight everything important"*
His gaze went back to her. He grabbed a purple highlighter and dragged it on her cheek making a purple mark. She just looked at him flustered and completely shocked
"R-rui?! Why did you do that?"
She spit out with her little pout and confused look. The red on her cheeks made the purple mark look so cute. She looked so pissed yet flustered. Her pissed-off self made her look even more adorable to him.
"Fufu ~ I just highlighted everything important"
She lets out a little squeak and looks down blushing. How could he not tease her when she was so cute? Her little blushed-out state made him fizzle with happiness. He could hear her flustered mumbles as he was just giving her a small smile. His smile was so comforting, just made her feel all warm and fuzzy. He gently placed his hand on her chin to see her face. Suddenly she just grabbed a green highlight and dragged it across his cheek too. Rui just laughed again, he never thought Nene was capable of a move like that. His teasing face immediately disappeared when he got a mark on his cheek. He didn't get mad or flustered... She just marked him back. He was surprised, but most importantly, very happy.
"I guess we're both pretty important then?"
"Shut up"
