‘Vel? What the fuck are you doing?’
Vox walked into the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee only to see the younger overlord aiming her phone at piles of sour candy currently spread around their shared kitchen counter.
‘Making battery acid. Now get lost, you’re in the shot.’
‘Velvette, dear, I totally hear you, but still, what?'
She pointed at the sour candy and at a can of Zeezi-branded energy drink, as if that would explain anything. Right then, Valentino strutted through the kitchen door as well. Vox lightly nudged his head towards Velvette with a look that clearly said: ‘Do YOU know what she’s doing?’ Valentino seemed equally confused.
‘Babydoll, might I ask why the hell you are ruining our kitchen?’ Valentino said, stealing a piece from one of the random piles.
‘Battery acid, Val. I’m giving you two a choice here, you either stay and help me out or you get the fuck out of here.’
Vox should’ve seen the moth’s next line coming from a mile away.
‘Don’t you think Vox produces enough battery acid to fuel all of Pentagram City on his own~?’
‘Valentino if you do not shut up right now, I swear.’
Screw this, he was getting out of here. Whatever was going on, the television demon no longer wanted to be a part of it. Right as he was about to see his way out through the nearest security camera, he heard Velvette greet her followers and thank them for joining an exclusive ‘three out of three Vees’ Voxtagram live. Valentino gave the camera a little wave while his second set of arms dragged Vox into the frame. The youngest of the trio spun her phone around to ‘show everyone the ingredients they’d be using today’ and to rave about ‘how amazing this was going to be’.
‘You have no clue what she's doing either, why would you drag me down with you?’
‘Voxxy~ What’s a little bit of harmless fun? Besides, look how excited she seems about this shit. How bad can it be? The worst that can happen is she blows up the kitchen again and we have to call up some random sinner she owns to deal with it. Give the camera a smile.’
The television overlord barely had time to think about the failed mug cake experiment before both Velvette and the camera were facing him again.
‘A massive thanks to everyone that suggested this hot new idea coming from Hell’s newest sinners! Even more so to fellow overlord Zeezi for jumping on the trend of over-caffeinated drinks! No more time to waste, let’s get going, right guys?’
Vox tried his best to follow her instructions while Valentino was quickly assigned the role of cameraman. Velvette told him it was because he had the most experience producing ‘quality viewing experiences’, but Vox knew it was because the moth was basically legally blind and the youngest Vee worried about her little project too much to let him anywhere near it. Whatever, Valentino seemed to enjoy watching him struggle and Velvette have the time of her afterlife anyway.
Surprisingly, everything seemed to be going well for a while, until their ungodly concoction started bubbling and fizzing. Val instantly shut off the live and hopped towards the counter as Vox ran to pour out what they could only assume was a second explosion waiting to happen. To top it all off, Velvette didn’t even seem grateful about them averting this crisis and stormed to her room.
‘What the hell is wrong with you two!? I thought, you know what, might as well do something fun between the three of us for once! Fucking idiots go ahead and ruin it for me. Can’t have shit in this place.’
‘Shit.’
‘Well, we’re not seeing her for a week, are we Val?’
‘Don’t think so…’
‘Unless… Voxxy~ Do you have a few more hours?’
---------
Honestly, it was never about the stupid drink. Well, it was. Before Vox had walked into the kitchen at least. After that, it quickly became about spending time with the two overlords that taught her everything she knew. All three of them have important shit to do, she knows that, but she also wants to just spend time with the other Vees sometimes. The whole battery acid thing had seemed like a perfect opportunity, until the idiots went ahead and ruined it for her. To be honest, she also just wanted to try the newest trend coming down from earth…
When Velvette walked out of her room and back into the kitchen hours later to quickly grab a snack and go back to sulking, she spotted the two other Vees, sitting and chatting at the counter. Vox had shed his jacket and rolled up his sleeves. Valentino’s wings dragged behind him instead of surrounding him like they usually would. Most importantly, the whole mess she’d left behind when she stormed out earlier, was cleaned up. In the middle of the counter stood a singular energy drink surrounded by similar, albeit smaller, piles of sour candy.
‘Velvette, dear, we’re sorry, we fucked up the acid thing.’
‘But, babydoll, we set everything up again, I even put up a tripod for your phone so I can help out in FRONT of the camera this time.’
‘How about we give it another shot?’
She couldn’t help but smile at them. They were stupid idiots who pissed her off all the time, but she was lucky enough to strike a soft spot in both of their rotten hearts.
‘You know what? Cut the camera bullshit. Can we just do this for fun? Let me explain what all this stuff is first this time though.’
So, there they were, all sitting together in their kitchen, smiling and laughing. Vox and Valentino were admittedly still very confused on why this whole thing held young sinners in such a chokehold, but Velvette seemed to have fun with it and in the end, that was all that mattered to them.

‘Wait, this is drinkable? Like properly drinkable?’
She nodded at Vox enthusiastically and waited to see who would give it a try first.
‘Eh fuck it, I’ve had weirder shit in my mouth,’ Val volunteered. He quickly recovered from the, admittedly vile, taste and passed the can to the doll demon. Velvette took a sip and miraculously seemed to enjoy their creation. She then passed it to the last of the Vees. Vox promptly spat it out after tasting, blue screened, and glitched out for a bit before declaring:
‘This shit was not worth all that trouble.’
Velvette went to bed that night thinking about how successful her project had been.
