He’d noticed the way Vox had looked at him, the way Vox had reacted to his blatant flirting - and how could he not have? Val was fucking magnetic.
And it— it had always been crude and base, words detached and dirty, never gentle. That was how Val liked it, after all, always goading him on to go harder, rougher—
When it was over, they didn’t linger. On occasion the other might stick around long enough to share a smoke, but they were both busy with business and other engagements - and besides which they weren’t a couple playing at domesticity. The thought was laughable.
They didn't care about each other, Vox had known that from the beginning. Or so he'd thought.
