Chapter Text

He wouldn’t say Kuya was unattractive, no. Not ugly. Not inappropriate with his ears and tail out, like master Huey once said. Because that old fox did not let age take away his beauty, because that old fox was too proud to let that happen, and he was undeniably enchanting.

He kept his appearance young and appealing to all, and of course, his own dignity as well. He was never one to enjoy himself while being all old and frail.

Yes, Quincy loved his fox and he would not love any other fox. (He never told him, as he knew Kuya would tease him for a whole week if he did.) Kuya was Quincy’s fox, and Quincy’s fox only. He loved to be possessive over his fox, his mate once in a while, he was aware of this, yes, but he would never stop admiring the enchanting Kuya in all his enchanting beauty.

They would do something behind the doors, away from the boisterousness, from both the mansion filled with liveliness and noise, and the forest which was full of life; Kuya’d put on a show for Quincy.

A show that Quincy never asked for; a view that Kuya would willingly display to Quincy himself.

Quincy still remembered the first time he saw the fox being vulnerable in front of his own eyes. It was years ago, yet it was still fresh in Quincy’s mind, as if it happened just yesterday. The way those tall, sharp ears elegantly popped out from his purple hair, and the way that enchanting yet fluffy tail emerged from the small of his back, swishing back and forth in anticipation, awaiting Quincy’s next move.

His fox ears jolted when Quincy placed a hand on the soft purple fur. The forest guardian shushed him and gripped the base of the tail, making him go limp, falling into Quincy’s open arms.

For an immortal who had known Kuya for decades and decades more, he knew that he was the only one the fox could trust. He was not reluctant when it came to displaying the real him to Quincy, as he knew Quincy never laughed at him for his fox features, never teased him nor told him to hide them from sight.

Quincy only admired them in silence, slowly stroking his tail, uttering no word.

Said fox was curled up in the pillow pile, the warmth from the fireplace was so tempting that he shifted closer and closer to the source of heat, still pretending to be asleep. Quincy sat nearest from the fireplace, Topper sleeping in his lap, while Quincy stroked his fur.

“Move, you big oaf. You’re blocking the way.” Kuya groaned as he complained.

Quincy said nothing. He just slowly, groggily moved his position so Kuya was wrapped tight in his arms.

He didn’t miss the tiny twitches of the fox ears and the wags of the fox tail, though.
