Zombie Love

Summary:

Looking into your remaining eye was what dragged my soul back from hell, giving my brain a small enlightment. I wish I remembered everything more clearly but.. At least I remember I used to love you in a time where everything was better.

Work Text:

When green eyes catched a glimpse of the blue one's for the first time, it was like a small heart beat echoed through the red head's body, a small zap in his rotting brain, perhaps a synepsis trying to connect and give me a foggy remainder of a better time, but the only thing he could remember was fhat beauty marked face, face of what was once a beautiful human that he seemed to know too well, but when he snapped back to reality, he only saw a disfigured zombie.

The dirty black locks framing the other's face and shoulders, one eye were missing but the other were a beautiful shade of blue, it reminded the boy of the ocean.. Whatever the ocean was. A spark of life shined in the dried blue orbs at seeing someone he once knew, standing still while he stared at the other's innexistencial soul. A tormented soul that was bought back from hell just to experience this moment.

They tried to talk, tried to express their feelings but only groans came out. Maybe it was the giant bite in one of their necks, exposing the almost blood-drained flesh and some hanging arteries, or maybe it was just because their rotting brains couldn't remember how to do so.

It was like a small conversation, as their palms met together. Felt familiar. Their fingers interlaced, not really thinking about the consequences or reasons behind those actions. It wasn't warm, but it gave a small comfort to the eternal winter their bodies lived in.

It was an irracional movement, a muscular memory when the smaller one's arms quickly wrapped around the other, and it was reciprocated without a second thought or wait. It was nostalgic. Perhaps they done it before but how long ago was it? Days ago? Weeks, months? Maybe even years.. But who cared. Time didn't affect them anymore either way.

Although, the strident smell of blood that came to their nostrils almost made them go back to senseless monsters.. But, the universe would have to try harder than that, to separate the well.. Whatever they were before theie tragic ends.

Looking down, the little red-head was reminded of the human he hunted down just some minutes ago, freshly open corpse, exposing that beautiful vibrant red. Hunger didn't talk this time, though. Bending down – With cracks of the already broken bones – His rotten fingers wrapped around the attractive organ, squishing sounds echoing through their ears, as he pulled and, with ease, snapped the veins holding the warm heart within the body.

Instead of eating it himself without thinking, like a zombie would normally do, he turned his limp-ish body to look at his new friend, who stayed still in place. Their expressions never changed much but, his eye widen ever so sighly at seing the food being gladly offered.

It was like blood was shoot up to his cheeks, but it didn't actually, it's not like they had any blood at all but it's what it felt like, as if he felt like a human again just because of another simple dead man.

I took a few seconds but soon the organ was taken, leaving a small puddle of warm blood, slowly getting colder. Looked over, the red-head was met with the view of the other zombie devoring the bloody meat, a yellow smile framing his face. It made a small smile form on his own lips.. And even though exactly knowing who each other were, they didn't want to be with anyone else till they permanently perished to this destroyed world. Together.

Notes:

Hope you liked this little post. Be known that I wrote this fanfic while high in medication so yeah, would love some constructive critism.
The only type of fanfics I have the minimal motivation to even finish are flashfics; Planning on posting more but don't expect much from me.

Thank you for reading! ♡
