Work Text:
Vaggie woke warm and safe, wrapped up in the soft blankets of Charlie's childhood four poster bed, and like every other morning for the last week she had to remind herself why they were currently holed up in the royal mansion instead of their own bedroom. Not that she would ever complain about Lucifer taking them all in after the battle. The hotel was still being rebuilt but it was coming along quickly with everyone's help. They had another busy day ahead of them but, snug under the covers and looking over at her still sleeping girlfriend, Vaggie was trying to convince herself that it could all wait for a while.
Usually it would've been that Charlie rose first in the mornings, always eager to begin the new day, but since the battle with the angels their roles had been somewhat reversed. Many late nights this last week were spent by the king and princess going over plans for the rebuilding and not to mention the tiring work taking place during the day. Charlie was always exhausted by the time she crashed into bed at whatever hour of the night.
That is to say it wasn't all that often Vaggie got to enjoy watching the morning mess that was her girlfriend. Charlie's long blonde hair splayed over the pillows, her bangs hanging over half her face, and dreamy smile twitching at her lips. Simply at peace.
Vaggie was honestly tempted to let Charlie sleep and remain in bed with her all day if it hadn't been for the fact that everyone would be gathering to breakfast soon. They had a day filled with work needing to be done on the half-built hotel so they would need the hotel owner there to help out as well.
Charlie smelled of the strawberry shampoo and wash she'd used the night before as the angel buried her face in the blonde's messy hairline. Just taking in all that was essentially Charlie from her scent to her calm heartbeat. Vaggie began placing soft kisses down her temple, kissing her ear, and continuing the trajectory along her jawline. She could tell it was tickling Charlie by the little twitches in her expression, but she didn't wake up. The silver haired woman pushed up on her elbow to kiss each of Charlie's closed eyes and then the tip of her little black nose.
A quiet giggle couldn't help but escape as the demon princess's nose twitched back and forth at the breathy touch. Vaggie followed up with a gentle, chaste, kiss on Charlie's lips. There was no doubt that she was awake now as Vaggie pulled away slightly and the blonde tried to follow but flopped back with a relaxed smile crossing her face even though she still refused to open her eyes and acknowledge her wakefulness.
Vaggie softly rolled her eyes at her lover's morning antics but knew they had to get out of bed eventually. "Come on, sweetheart, you know everyone is going to be waiting breakfast for us if we don't hurry."
The sleepy demon didn't move except to try and burrow into the pillows. "No," she grumbled lightly. Then something unintelligible that Vaggie chalked up to 'Don't wanna.' She couldn't help but be charmed by the princess's lazy morning stubbornness.
Bringing her free hand up she traced the bottom of Charlie's lips earning a pleased hum from the pale woman beneath her but followed it up with a soft bop to her girlfriend's nose instead of what she probably expected to be a kiss. Being surprised at the action is what finally got Charlie to open her eyes. They crossed looking up at Vaggie hovering over her. "Morning," she breathed out softly.
"Good morning, Princessa," Vaggie smirked. With her job done of getting Charlie awake she began to roll away so they could get ready for the day.
However, Charlie seemed to have other ideas as she wrapped her long arms around Vaggie, keeping her in place. "Not ready." The stubborn woman whined childishly. "It's soft and comfortable. Come be soft and comfortable with me, Vaggie."
Vaggie couldn't fight it. She couldn't really, not only because Charlie was very insistent, but the temptation to be just a little late to breakfast was so very strong. For another minuet or so it wouldn't hurt to just be. Lay here with her girlfriend and cuddle and enjoy having each other. Eventually, she did pull away from Charlie's hold slightly. They really did need to join the others for breakfast before someone came looking.
Charlie didn't stop her, would never keep her pinned to a place she didn't want to be, though she did grumble in complaint of her snuggle buddy moving. "Come on, my love, we don't want to give a certain horny spider any more fuel for his teasing. If we show up any later you know he'll be at it all day."
In response Charlie pouted cutely and tightened her grip momentarily on Vaggie's waist. A fang poked out in her lopsided grin. "You know Angel doesn't mean anything by it. Besides, I don't care if he teases us, not when I have you here." Her fingers twisted in Vaggie's long silver hair.
The angel smiled down at her lover. Vaggie knew the spider demon didn't tease out of a want to be mean and she was known to throw it back to him as well. They were more like family than Vaggie would've ever imagined. Maybe that's why Charlie enjoyed watching them bicker so much, because she's never had siblings. Vaggie leaned in again and this time when her fingers traced along Charlie's jaw she followed it up with a slow and gentle kiss.
Charlie, bless her, was very tempting as she nibbled lightly on Vaggie's bottom lip in an attempt of persuasion. Reluctantly she pulled herself away and met the demon's red-eyed, playful, gaze. "Speaking of teases," she chuckled, "the big tease here is going to cause all kinds of talk if she keeps this up." Vaggie pushed herself away with a smile and sat up. The blankets pooled around her waist as Charlie watched her get out of bed.
The princess chuckled a bit as she finally sat up against the headboard to admire Vaggie as she changed into her day clothes. "Now look who's being a temptation," Charlie said running her tongue over her fangs in a very obvious display for the gray-toned angel.
In favor of actually getting them out of the bedroom this morning Vaggie chose to ignore that comment. Charlie laughed and caught her shirt and pants that Vaggie tossed in her face. She slid her legs over the side of the bed and finally joined her girlfriend in getting ready for the busy day ahead. By the time they both made it down to the kitchen, where everyone was already eating breakfast, they were the last to show up.
There were a few knowing smirks and raised brows, a chuckle from Lucifer that had Charlie turning red, and as Vaggie suspected there was indeed plenty of familiar teasing to be had.
