Elphaba ignored the Emerald City escort in her bright orange dress and equally orange hat and looked at Glinda instead, standing to the side of the stage in a pale pink dress with a beatific smile on her face. Glinda Upland, surprise winner of the 68th annual Hunger Games at fifteen years old-and now, at seventeen, her mentor. The person who was supposed to guide Elphaba through the pre game festivities and look out for her while she was in the Arena. The person who had once been closer to her than anyone else in the world, now worse than a stranger.
Elphaba tried to stifle a sigh. She really didn’t stand a chance.
Or: Elphaba and Glinda are both District 12's surprise Victors. But Elphaba is just beginning to realize the Games don't end when she leaves the Arena...

Elphaba wakes up alone in the middle of a field with no memories and no idea where she is. Nothing around her makes sense and everything seems a little too good to be true. That is, until she finds herself in a house that feels like home with a woman that feels like forever.
“I really missed you, Elphie,” Glinda sighed, laying her body fully atop of Elphaba, resting her head in the crook of her neck.
“Was I really gone that long?” Elphaba questioned, rubbing a hand up and down Glinda’s back.
Glinda let out a heavy sigh, placing a soft kiss on Elphaba’s neck. “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you how long it felt like.”
Elphaba hummed, pulling Glinda closer as her eyes began to slide shut again.

This was a college with the depressing energy of a boarding school. Small, private, stuck-up, religious, all girls. Elphaba thought of it as a university that girls went to because they were either brainwashed or ‘troubled’. She was worried it would be a repeat of the hell she went through before Dulcibear convinced Frex to let her be homeschooled. Then again, she was a very different person than she was in elementary school. So really, she had nothing to worry about, as long as she didn’t give two fucks about anything or anyone in this school. Especially not Galinda.or
