   Summary

   Following the harrowing events of her teenage years, Valentina Perez has worked herself to the bone through her education to reach the place she is now -- a new recruit in the Grimsborough Police Force. She's assigned a partner, given a case, and is immediately put to work. No rest for the wicked, after all.
   However, as she continues her work, she finds herself in mystery after mystery, uncovering more and more her teenage self would probably never even DREAM of.
   How will she navigate things? Will she go the smooth sailing route, or will she crash and burn?
