Summary
Corvail and Satoni have grown up in enemy countries locked in a long-standing fight for dominance in the Five Kingdoms. When Corvail finds his home on the loosing side of a war, and his family and himself taken prisoner, he is given a choice: To take poison and end his life to thwart their enemy from the satisfaction of humiliating their family in revenge. Or live and serve the princess, who is feared even by her own people, for she brings pain to everyone she touches. And being the enemy prince, there is no doubt whether she’ll use it against him.
Inspired by „Carve the Mark“ by Veronica Roth, but well, completely different except for the concept.
