Guilty Pleasure

Summary:

A Virtue's moment of reprieve gifted by his favorite Sin

~~~
Virtue of Diligence (Gabriel) x Sin of Sloth (Belphegor)
While they are named and based off of the religious figures, their designs and personalities are my own from a story I wrote with a friend.
Work Text:
Gabriel’s body felt fuzzy as he lay in a fortress of plush pillows and soft blankets. He never truly had a chance of rest and relaxation being the Virtue of Diligence, but somehow, he allowed Belphegor to wrangle him into their prison of warmth.
Gabriel became alert as he felt a shift beside him, bringing him from his thoughts and serving as a reminder of the demon that was resting beside him. Gabriel’s heart ached as he laid his eyes on the exhausted face of The Sloth Sin, their long, dark lavender hair sprayed all around them. The eyebags on their face are severely evident, despite them spending most of their days sleeping, a phenomenon Gabriel has always been curious about.
Slowly, as to not disturb Belphegor, Gabriel shifted to his side to fully face them, taking the time to observe the other's oddly-peaceful expression. Reaching out, he gently brushed a strand of hair out of their face, revealing more of the beautiful canvas that he has come to love so dearly. Not that he never did. Gabriel doesn't think he could ever not love his other-half, his opposite.
Even when Belphegor fell by his hands.
Resting when he could be doing work has always disturbed Gabriel, leaving an uncomfortable feeling to form in his chest that threatened to crawl out. But the feeling lessened whenever he was with Belphegor, and maybe that was the point in being tempted by sin. So he would accept it just this once, even if it meant falling to the pits of hell alongside the demon.
If Belphegor noticed the fact that Gabriel had brought them closer into his hold, the demon did not comment on it once they woke.
