Chapter Text

Izuku Midoriya was nervous. He was 15 years old and he never had a friend before...Ok he did but that was when he was 4 and said friend no longer hang out with him after find out Izuku was quirkless.

But It doesn't matter. Nope, he was totally fine. He was fine with the name calling, the bruises, the bare minimum effort from teachers. The list of things he was fine with was long.

But that was in the past..hopefully....

It was currently Saturday, he was in his room. It was a little over a month since the Sports Festival. Even though he didn't win, his mom was very proud of him for doing it.

Izuku told his mom everything, or at least the important things. Maybe it was because he was an only child, or that he never know his father; Kacchan says that his dad was a deadbeat; or the fact that he was friendless. Whatever the case, Izuku considerers his mom his best friend. Someone that he can trust.

So, she knew about him getting a quirk, reluctantly believing his lie that he was a late bloomer, but went along with it. She also knew about the bullying, the bad teachers, the scars, the low self-esteem, the depressing thoughts, physical body pains from years of hits and explosions...she knew everything...It was only after going to therapy after the LoV attack that Izuku told his mom who was-is-bullying him.

After he told his mom everything, even the day of the slime monster attack (minus meeting All Might) Inko Midoriya saw red.

Inko is a gentle sweet women. A loving mother and a kind person. Although she is a bit emotional and has anxiety, she is a person who keeps a cool head. But this time, this time Inko was furious. Marching to the Bakugou's house, the Midoriya had two different emotions. Izuku was fallowing his mom, panic and confusion sparked in his chest, he anxiously talk to his mom. Inko on the other hand, was so angry and disappointed. At herself and at her best friend. Once at the Bakaugo’s she banging on the door. A minute went by then Mitsuki open the door.

"Kat I swear if you left—Oh! Inko! Hi, What are you doing here?" Mitsuki ask, surprised. 

"I need to tell you what your son has being doing to Izuku." Inko deadpanned. Mitsuki only gave a confused look.Only once's in the blonde’s life did she ever saw Inko get so angry-it was at Izuku's father-so was she angry now? And Katsuki being the problem? Oh, that didn't sound good at all. 

"Umm, yeah, yeah, Katsuki isn't here, he's at a friend’s house, but come on in."

Izuku was told to wait outside the house while the two adults talk. Sitting on the front porch steps, Izuku mind race with questions and thoughts. In the background he could hear yelling and faint crying. Finally after what seem like hours his mom came back outside, she had on a cold, stern, face. Mitsuki on the other hand, her face was red and tear streaked.

"I'll talk to him ok Inko? I will! I promise. You're my best friend, please don't leave because of this—" Mitsuki was cut off.

"Mitsuki I swear to God if you don't get that boy some anger management at LEAST. I will leave. Ok? Also NEVER let that boy be around Izuku outside of school unless it's to apologize. To Izuku AND to me."

With that the two left. Back at home they had a very long and emotional talk. Izuku will keep going to therapy and Inko will take less work shifts and be around for her son.

Fast forward to present day. After going to therapy and slowly talking to his classmates and sometimes to his teachers. His mom thought it would be a big step if he made make a group chat or get there numbers of some kids he likes.

"You need to try to make some friends honey, these past few years you been alone by yourself. Having someone around your age and going outside will be good for you! Please just try? Start small if you have too."  His mom spoke, softly as she sat next to him on the couch, a hand gently on his knee. Izuku only felt dread, but he nodded to him mom in response. 

So here he was, sitting on his bed. Debating on with to do it or not......

5 minutes pass....

.

…

10 minutes pass.....

…

.

.

An hour.....

.

…

2 hours......

.....

..........

.............this was stupid. In a hasty moment of frustration Izuku hit the send button on his phone. There, the group chat was finally made. No turning back now. It would be cowardly to ghost his classmates right after making the group chat. 

His mind still swirling with anxiety, Izuku just stare at his phone. Waiting for something to happen. Getting up, Izuku got ready for bed. The same mindless routine help made his mind calm again. Once he was done he hop into bed. 

* bing* 

His phone chimed with a notification. Grading it, Izuku was shocked! It was only a few minutes and already his phone was blowing up with messages....taking a quick look; his eyes widen, 80+ messages from the group chat.....on no.

Taking a deep breath, Izuku open the group chat and looked at all the messages.

Izuku Midoriya created this chat.

For the pass few weeks Izuku was slowly getting use to the group chat. Sure, he sees his classmates everyday in class but it feel different in the chat. More chaotic, and more personal in a odd way.

The chat mostly was use for memes, gossip, or rarely use for homework advice. It felt more detached that way, more private. 

Today some people in the chat were showing the others pictures of their rooms, or just doing activities. Denki took a selfie of himself sitting on his bed playing video games. Soft yellow fairy-lights glowed above the bed as well as the tv screen glowing on his face, bathing him in yellow and blue while the rest of his room was pitch black.

Mina post a short video of her in a room that had a pastel pink wall with white accessories doing her makeup. She had multiple color glitter, star stickers, and fake freckles on her face and cheeks.

Tsuyu showed a close up picture of her plants, some type of water ones. In the background was a half shown pride flag, the trans flag, and the lesbian one.

I can explain. As you are aware, children form quirks at age 4-5. When I was born, I could feel DARK there with me, I could feel her presence, though I could not find the words to explain it. I know that she was there, I could feel her emotions and had vague hint of her thoughts when my quirk was starting to awaken. Once I become 4 and my quirk showed I know that she was my sister, she was a me and I was her.

After sending his own gender list. Izuku look at the time 2:20am. Dang it was late. He quickly sent a text to the group chat saying he was going to bed. Then he turn off his phone, changed into some PJ, brushed his hair and his teeth, then he went to bed.

It's nice having friends he thought as he drifted off to sleep.
