Chapter Text
Vaggie flew down to earth
The Seraphim, her commander, got word of some demons going around killing humans and sent a few exorcists to deal with it.
Whenever demons acted up it was exorcists like Vaggie to exterminate them
The angel used her halo to cloak herself as she flew over the city of Los Angeles
The sun was starting to set
As she flew she took in her surroundings
She looked at all the different buildings and vehicles that surrounded her. She read some of the various signs that were everywhere. She was amazed by how flashy everything was.
On the sidewalks were some street performers in all kinds of costumes.
‘I’d probably fit right in with this crowd.’ She thought, putting a hand to her exorcist mask’
Her eyes landed on a man dressed like a pirate, which brought a smile to her face. She wasn’t much of a fan of fantasy and role play but she has always thought pirates were cool.
She took a second to look down at her spear, Plunder, before continuing on
But what had her attention the most were all the people wandering around
Angels rarely interacted with humans
If the world found out about Heaven and Hell order would crumble
But that didn’t stop Vaggie from being fascinated by them
Vaggie slowly came to a stop and hovered over a movie theater just as a family walked out the door
A family of a mother, a father, 4 boys and 1 girl
Vaggie watched as the group talked animatedly on the way to their car
The angel couldn’t help but feel envious of what they had. Because she didn’t have a family
Exorcists weren’t born, they were created. Created to enforce and protect the rules that heaven sees fit. Hence why she was currently demon hunting.
The exorcists are an army not a family
Vaggie was one of the younger exorcist angels. Only being created about 14 years ago. Although age doesn't really matter when you're immortal. Once she’s matured her aging will come to a halt.
Once the family drove off Vaggie shook out of her longing state and continued on
____________________________________________________________________
A couple hours later she found herself in a more rundown part of the city
Just then she heard a gunshot
Flying in the direction of the sound and halted at what she saw
Three Imps standing right by a dead guy, laying on a running motorcycle
In the man’s head was a bullet wound that was still bleeding
“Well that was close.” The imp, who had white scar tissue on half his face, said “Good shooting their Moxx.”
“Thanks sir.” Another imp said, a shotgun in hand
“Can we go now, Blitzø?” Said the third imp, who was female and spoke with a country accent “Moxxie and I have plans tonight.”
“Sure thing, Mill. I’ll give Looney a call.” The imp Blitzø, who seemed to be the boss, said as he pulled out a phone
Realizing they were about to leave she acted
She through Plunder in the direction of the imps and it landed a hit on Blitzø’s phone, causing it to split in half once it hit the ground
The spear became uncloaked when she let go of it, so the imps could see what it was
“That’s an Angel spear, Sir.” Moxxie said, in fear
“We need to get the hell out of here!” Blitzø said
The boss climbed on the dead man’s bike and started it up, his two friends sitting behind. Imps aren’t exactly big creatures so they all fit on their well enough.
And they took off
Picking her spear off the ground she flew in their direction
They were moving from side to side too much for Vaggie to just throw her weapon again so she flapped her wings harder to catch up. Moxxie started blind shooting at her, but their guns can’t do anything to an exorcist.
Getting close enough she slashed at the back tire, causing the bike to spin out of control. Vaggie watched as it sped through a parking lot and crashed through the glass doors of a building.
From here she could hear an alarm go off
Curious, Vaggies eyes searched until she found a sign for this place
“Carmine manufacturing.” She read, under her breath
Flying up to where the bike crashed she peeked inside
It was dark but she could make out what this place was
‘This must be a weapons manufacturing company of some kind.’ She thought
Stepping further inside she saw the biked crashed into a counter
The imps probably opened a portal to hell the second after the crash
‘I should search the building to be sure’. She thought
She ran up to the second floor of the building
While the first floor was more of a store, the second was more of an office space
She opened a few doors revealing some closets and a couple one person offices
Vaggie was about ready to give up on this when something caught her eye
A small pool of crimson, leaking out from under a door she hadn’t checked yet
Getting consumed with worry she removed her mask, turned off invisibility, rushed to the door and pushed it open
Her eyes went wide and her mouth went agape at the sight in front of her
A woman laid on the ground, not moving
