Work Text:
Lloyd couldn’t get up. He didn’t even want to. The only time he did was to go to the bathroom, eat, or occasionally shower here and there. He didn’t want to. They stopped knocking after a while. Only took them four days. He hears them sometimes. Yelling.
All.
The .
Time .
He’s honestly surprised they haven’t left yet. Maybe he should. After all, he was useless. He was the only dead weight that the others carried until he had a stupid prophecy to fulfill.
He used to draw, but his pencils and his sketchbooks had a thin layer of dust on them.
How long has it been? A year? A month? A week? He doesn’t know.
His phone is dead. Has been for what Lloyd thinks is a while. His charger is useless. His cat, Mako, had chewed it.
Where was Mako? Had the others taken up the responsibility of him? Or is he just wasting away? Lloyd hoped it was the latter.
Oh.
Oh .
That’s right.
Mako’s gone. He’s been gone for years.
His brain has been fuzzy. Ever since he was thrown by that wall. It’s hard to remember things. He makes things up. His charger was fine, unchewed.
—
Maybe it’s best if he’s gone.
—
Lloyd can’t remember. What day is it? What month is it? What year was it?
—
His apartment was nice. His job was okay. Maybe it’ll be fine.
—
He remembers someone tried to stop him. But from what?
Oh, right.
He left.
Kai yelled at him for accidentally hurting Cole and he cried. He grabbed his stuff and ran out of the Monastery. He was pretty sure he heard Jay call it quits too.
—
He messed up again. He knows he did. He forgot something. But what?
Oh right.
He was fired. Something about a complaint about him. Oh, right. He fell asleep while standing. His boss didn't like that.
—
Does Ninjago need Lloyd? Or does Lloyd need Ninjago? Or was it that nobody needed Lloyd, and Lloyd didn’t need anybody? He shrugged his shoulders. He was alive wasn’t he?
But she wasn’t around.
He can’t remember her face that well anymore. His therapist said that it was his mind protecting him. It needed to stop. He sent a letter to Cole, asking for a picture of Nya. He hopes to get a reply soon, he doesn’t want to lose her face.
—
The picture is on his desk now. Cole asked for him to go to the monastery, but Lloyd forgot to send the letter.
—
What letter was he supposed to write? And to who?
—
They visited him at work today. He honestly forgot about them entirely, but he remembered when he saw their faces. He began to write in a journal, hopefully he’ll remember more.
—
He missed her. Maybe the others can help. He remembers little about her these days. But once he saw that new broadcast, he remembered. He needed to get to work.
