It’s A World of Laughter, A World of Tears, It’s A World of Sadness and Jeers

Summary:

As the Clock Tower prepared to launch his attacks on Mickey Mouse, it reminisces on the days it was happy and carefree but then driven to madness by the ear worm of a song that will drive any one who hears to say get me off this ride but you’re stuck on it because all the other rides were either busy or you just were bored.

Chapter Text

For some, a song is a great way to pass the time; for others, it’s a way to make the work go faster, but for me, the clock who wants to rest, I have nothing but the same tune of a world of laughter, a world of cheer, a world that we share now and when. It’s a small world after all.

Listening to it has driven me into insanity; I can no longer distinguish between reality and the delusions that this song has caused me.

Once this area was pristine and beautiful, now it’s become rundown and polluted by the thinner that weaves and flows through the streets below.

Once the Gremlins flocked here to ride and enjoy my tune and the little show I put on now and then,

But now I am alone; the world continues on while I remain stuck in this one moment for all time .

Soon the years pass by, the world starts to change and again the once vibrant colors and shapes are replaced with jagged and distorted shapes and colors that reflect the new statues quo.

Soon a memory plays as I am waiting to see who is foolish enough to fight me,

I’m here to clean your clock, a memory of a rabbit now that is forgotten is replaced by that of a mouse that has dared to disturb me, i will ensure he doesn’t leave in one piece.

As he continues to use the power of paint and thinner, I feel my fingers begin to shift as I raise him up to destroy the record that has been the source of my discontent What is going on as for the first time in a long while, i see the same mouse and recognize him from the talk and chatter of the others, Oswald’s supposed rival and the successor he has tried to hide from the world.

What, where am I, i say as I start to take stock of my surroundings.

Hi there, pal.

Mickey Mouse,

Yep, that’s me, good old Mickey Mouse.

You okay, you seem to have lost your sense of time,

Hahaha, that’s a good one.

Thank you. That song became stuck in my head after someone forced the song to play on and on.

Thank you for saving me,

Nearby, a familiar face popped up.

Gus, it’s good to see you again. How goes the village?

Well done. Now I can send in some of the troops to fix and help clean up this mess. What a place this was once, I knew that song wasn’t a good idea but Oswald wanted to make it as close to your world’s version as he could.

I can’t imagine how much I missed seeing our clock tower now back in its right state of mind, chiming once more and now it will be safe for others to come and go, although this thinner has got to go, it’s bad enough, it’s taken away the colors and the lighting of this place but I think with a bit of elbow grease and some more help, it will shine again. Agh, yes I forgot to tell you, the reason that the tower went mad was our resident evil scientist.

The Mad Doctor is the one who set that record up for the poor machine to be driven mad; apparently, Oswald and some of his friends were here awhile back before the world went to heck, they managed to turn it off but somehow, later footage showed he had been here to wreck havoc, so when the Blot Wars started, we gremlins had a full blown panic on our hands as the whole thing was a mess. After this the doors open and the two proceed to Mean Street while Gus sends a work order to the other gremlins in the village to fix up the area and the tower. As Mickey peers amongst the different people and places he affected, he sees the clock tower smiling while the gremlins dance in time with an instrumental version of the song. Thus a better choice was made not by use of force but rather the kindness and respect for others that show the same qualities that make Mickey a hero and not a villain in the eyes of many, however he still manages to get into mischief but that’s a story for another day.
