Work Text:
It was a hot, summer night, Zane's bedroom window being opened wide with glory — the sound of someone falling onto his carpet startling him and his cat, who jumped up and tried to attack the intruder — who was fighting for his life against this cat. Yelps could be heard, along with a table being bumped into — the glass of water which sat there being knocked down onto the carpet, dampening it.
... not an intruder, just Travis.
"Hi," The boy gave a crooked smile — his green eyes almost lighting up in the dark room. His hands were swatting at the cat, not wanting to get a scratch on his face, since he had enough of them from this stupid animal.
"It's late. Go away." Zane furrowed his brow, turning over in his bed, facing the wall. He was expecting to get a little bit sleep — even though Garroth and Laurance were downstairs, causing a ruckus with their dumb karaoke session. Zane was tired as is. Of course, since it was around midnight — he had already changed into his pyjamas. Travis, was also in his pyjamas. Which got Zane thinking, did he walk all the way here in his jammies, and then climb in the window?
He'd jump into the bed next to Zane, who scowled in response — he could've gave him a warning. The idea of cuddling was something Travis was thinking about, and Zane could sense it. As much as he acted like he didn't want Travis to stay, he knew his heart was throbbing for a hug from his partner. He was easy to read.
"M'tired," Travis yawned out, almost falling asleep immediately. So he's just gonna jump into his bed and fall asleep in seconds? Okay, sure, whatever. His arms loosely wrapped around Zane's torso, squeezing tightly for all the warmth he could possibly get. It was a comfortable atmosphere. Quiet, with the occasional sound of Travis and his snores, the pair of them fast asleep in the one bed. Despite the lack of space, they had managed to sort of make it work — it was better than nothing. His cat had taken her rest on their chests, purring softly in her sleep.
The door to Zane's room was open, and in peeked Garroth and Laurance — who shot eachother a knowing smile, closing the door and disappearing back downstairs for more karaoke. Belting out whatever they could, at the top of their lungs — most likely about to wake both Travis and Zane from their slumber.
What a nice end to the night.
