Summary
“Need something Lieutenant?” you ask while crossing your arms and looking up at him. God, he is towering above you. You meet his eyes and wait for an answer and when he suddenly refers to your last name you freeze.
“I once knew a Captain with the same last name.” He replies, voice rough, accent peeking through. You look down and shift from the one foot to the other. The lights in your office are suddenly awfully bright and you really didn’t expect this sort of conversation, at least so soon.
“Must be my dad then.” You reply laughing awkwardly. Ghost must see the uncomfortable change in your demeanor and you swear you can notice his voice get a tiny bit softer. It’s barely there but you notice it nonetheless.
“He’s a good man. I was under his care a few years ago. He really is a good teacher.” He says and crosses his arms. He is? Doesn’t he know he died? You now look up at him in confusion and see a pair of chocolate brown eyes full of understanding staring at you. He get’s it. That’s why he is talking about him as if he’s still here. You smile at him thankfully to which he gives you a short nod and with that he takes off.
The rumored ‘scary Ghost’ isn’t as scary as everyone says.
