“Are we gonna talk about it?” he asks quietly.
Eddie scoffs.
“We don’t have to,” he says, meeting Steve’s volume. His voice is barely a whisper, but it’s loud in the bathroom, echoing off the tile.
“We probably should, right?”
Eddie shrugs, and he shifts to lean against the side of the back, looking at him. The water sloshes quietly, and it somehow feels like the room shrinks, forcing the two of them into a little box, into this quiet intimacy that Steve doesn’t think he’s ever had before. His eyes sting, and he blinks the feeling away.
“…I missed you,” he whispers.
