Work Text:
Killua was tired. Really tired. ‘Pika and Leorio had invited him to their house- god, he was NOT ready for the awkward tension. Kiss already. He was at the grocery, looking for chocobots.
“Come on, Killua!” Gon cried, somewhere ahead of him. “Coming!” Killua called back.
Just then, a melodic sound resonated through the air. Killua picked up his phone. Kurapika. “Yah Pika? Were almost the-” he started, Kurapika’s worrying nature was so bad, they had almost started referring to him as mamapika.
Jesus, that boy could worry. Kilua’s thoughts were cut of. “Its Leorio- this is pikas phone. Where are you?”
Oh. Killua almost laughed. “I’m just at the grocery picking up snacks. Heh- I’ll grab them quick, alright? Gon should be on his way. I sent him ahead.”
“Alright- I- Pika told me to call. He’s been worrying. He is coming to get you. He should be on his way-”
“Leorio?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you like strawberry soda or orange?”
“Get strawberry.”
“Alright, bye.”
“Wait-”
The line disconnected. Thank god, the old man can’t make a conversation quick, can he? After about thirty minutes, he checked his watch. Suddenly, all the hair on the back of his hair stood up. That aura- It couldn't be. No- it was- KALLUTO.
He spun around, out of the store into a nearby alleyway. There, was- Kalluto. “Kalluto?” he asked carefully.
“Aniki? Kalluto spun around. “Killua! I-” he started, that childish smile returning to Killua’s face. “KILLUA!” Gon? He turned to see gon, just standing there. “Gon!” he called, but something was wrong.
Gon looked scared. Or- Anxious? “Gon?” he called out.before he knew it, he felt something hit him, and when he blacked out. When he woke up, he was being held by gon. He was looking… behind him? At… Kalluto. He spun around to see Kaluto, on… the floor. A puddle of blood around him. Behind him was Kurapika, who rushed towards Killua. “Killua! Are you okay?” he cried, his eyes a scarlet red. Killua couldn't speak. He couldn't breathe. Kurapika rushed to his side. “Killua? Look at me did it Hurt you?”
“STAY AWAY FROM ME!” killua lashed out viscously, slacking across kurupika’s chest. “Kill-” Kurupika started, backing towards Kalluto, his baby brother. His. His his his his his his. His baby brothers. Who he swore to protect.
“Killua!” gon cried loudly. But Killua couldnt hear him. He dashed to his brother. Ankiki! His brother had been so exited to call him when he was little. Oh, he just remembered his chubby cheeks. His small smile. Him playing with Alluka.
He got down on his knees. “Hey, hey hey hey hey-” he jumbled, cupping the darker-haired boy's face.
No response. He wrapped his arms around the body carefully. “Kurapika Your A MONSTER!” he snarled. Kurapika, who'd kneeled near him. He looked at Killua with hurt on his face. “Killua, why-?” he said, looking betrayed.
“Your a monster! You killed him!” Killua sobbed. “Why do you care?” Kurupika pondered gently. “He’s TEN, Kurapika!” Killua lashed. “He was six when the spiders attacked! He wasn't a part of it!” Killua cried, glaring at him.
“He didn't even do anything…” he cried out. “Killua I don't understand…” Kurapika tried. Killua backed away- more like crawled, holding his brother. His cold, dead brother.
“You killed my family. You… are worse than scum.”
“What…?”
“My brother…” Killua started crying inconsolably
“No…” Gon tried. “SHUT UP.” Killua screamed. He was gone. He wasnt killua. He was Rage.
Little did they all know.
Little did kurapika know.
This was the start of something bigger.
