Chapter Text
It was a beautiful evening in Green Hill. Sonic was out for a run, admiring his surroundings. He dashed past the cool waterfalls and colorful flowers, a smile on his face.
“Man. What a great time for a run!” The blue hedgehog thought to himself. He looked up towards the horizon. The sun was almost set, the sky a gorgeous dark orange. It was a breathtaking sight.
Sonic continued to gaze at the horizon as he ran. No matter how many times he saw it, the sunset in Green Hills never failed to astonish him.
Unfortunately, his attention was taken away from where he was running. He failed to notice the sudden drop in front of him. Next thing he knew, he was tumbling down a steep hillside!
“AH! Ow! Ouch!” Sonic rolled down, dirt and rocks falling along with him. He eventually reached the level ground below, face planting. Letting out a groan, he stood up, slightly dizzy. “Well… the view was nice while it lasted.” he brushed the dirt off of himself.
Sonic was about to start running again when… he noticed something. “...Huh?” The hedgehog looked curiously at the hillside where he’d tumbled. There was a faint purple shine in the dirt where the ground gave way. Intrigued, he walked over, assuming it might be a chaos emerald.
Kneeling down, Sonic saw not only purple, but gold. This intrigued him even more. What could this be? Wiping away more of the dirt, his eyes widened to see what the shiny object was.
In front of him was a beautiful, chunky golden bracelet. It was shaped like a ring, and a vibrant purple gemstone decorated the surface.
“Wow…” Sonic uttered to himself, mesmerized by how pretty it was. It was almost… magical in a way. He reached and picked up the bracelet, examining it. “Hm…” It seemed to be just his size. He slipped the bracelet onto his wrist, a smile on his face. Raising his hand up to the sky, he gazed at the purple gemstone. The sun had now set, and the jewel reflected the stars in the sky. He let out a whistle. “Not bad!”
He stared at his outstretched hand against the night sky, the stars in the far distance. The purple gem on the bracelet continued to shine beautifully. It was breathtaking…. and bright… brighter… it was glowing brighter! It shined so much, the purple light was almost blinding!
“Agh!!!” Sonic closed his eyes, shielding his face with his arm. The purple light continued to get brighter. Suddenly, he felt like he was spinning in circles. The blue hedgehog began to feel dizzy... spinning more…. and more…. then falling… then everything turned black.
