Chapter Text
Sunshine seeped in the open curtains as Will stirred. His right arm was loosely slung over Tom, their legs tangled together. He opened his eyes slowly, trying to adjust them to the warm glow spilling into their bedroom.
His eyes turned to focus on Tom, who was sound asleep beside him. He looked so different when he was sleeping. He looked so calm, untroubled. Will untangled their legs carefully as he tried to not wake his sleeping boyfriend. Pulling himself upward, he moved towards the bedside table for his glass of water. He glanced at the clock. 8:04 am. Neither Will nor Tom had anywhere they needed to be for at least a little while. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he took small sips of water as his thoughts drifted far away. He set the drinking glass back on the table with a loud thunk. Will heard Tom rustling behind him. Glancing back, he watched Tom roll over slowly opening his eyes.
"I'm sorry, did I wake you up?" Will asked softly.
"I was wondering where all the warmth went." Tom shifted onto his back, face pulling into a pout.
Will stood up and stretched, sliding his feet into a pair of slippers. "It's time to get up anyway. I'm going to put some coffee on and start making breakfast, what do you think about eggs and toast today?" He asked, moving languidly towards the door.
"Will... it's not even 8:30 yet. Come back here and cuddle with me." Tom pleaded, still blinking to adjust to the light in his eyes.
"We have to get ready for work, Tom. If it was up to you we would cuddle until 10 minutes before we're supposed to be out the door."
"Alright, as true as that may be, we still have plenty of time... even just a few more minutes, Will." Tom yawned.
Will watched Tom as he leaned against the door frame. "You're so cute when you're half asleep like this." Will chuckled, as he gave in to Tom's pleas and started moving back towards the bed.
He kicked off his slippers, laid gently back down and pulled the covers back over himself. Tom moved forward, and rested his head on Will's chest as their arms settled around each other. Will softly started rubbing circles on Tom's back.
"You know we have to get up sooner than later right?"
"Not right now though. I won't let you go. It's too early to get out of bed." Tom replied, snuggling further into Will's chest feeling his steady heartbeat.
"Alright, alright. Just this once okay?"
Will could feel Tom's triumphant smile against him. He took a deep breath and allowed himself to sink back into the comfort of the pile of pillows Tom insisted were necessary to sleep with. They both slowly drifted off to sleep once again, comfortable in each other's arms.
