Work Text:
Nikolai and Fyodor were in the same room.
That made Nikolai excited. Fyodor usually excluded himself from the rest of the Decay Of Angels, having 'better things to do'. However, now he had devised their whole plan, he hadn't really got an excuse to distance himself this time. Nikolai had nonchalantly invited him to a little café which he had rented out entirely, thanks to the large sum of money the DOA had managed to accumulate. Originally, he invited everyone, but only Sigma and Fyodor ended up showing. Fukuchi instead having to work with the Hunting Dogs, and Bram... sleeping as usual. He guessed it would be best to leave the sleeping vampire alone.
So here he was, sitting in an empty café with Sigma and Fyodor. The waitress came over as the ominous silence loomed over them, Nikolai quickly blurted out his well thought over order, as Sigma looked up from the menu.
"I'll have.. Hmm.." Sigma looked down at the menu again, "Just some Chazuke please."
Nikolai looked over to Fyodor expectantly, who was absorbed in his copy of 'The Idiot'.
"Dos-kun?" He prompted.
Fyodor looked up at the waitress and then back to his book.
"Dos-kun, what are you ordering?" Nikolai prompted again. The waitress smiling awkwardly as Sigma watched silently.
"Just a water please." Fyodor replied, "No ice."
The waitress waited a little longer before simply nodding and rushing off. Nikolai and Sigma both looked at Fyodor.
"Aren't you going to order something?" Sigma asked curiously, he was met with a simple shake of the head.
"Surely you'll be hungry!" Nikolai added, also met with a shake of the head.
They both gave up and looked at each other before settling back into silence. Nikolai fidgeted for a bit, before pulling out his phone and opening up a game. He didn't understand how Sigma could just wait in silence, or how Fyodor could read a book for hours. He heard Fyodor spent all day just reading one book once. He couldn't go 5 minutes without a distraction.
After what felt like forever, their food arrived. Fyodor took a sip of his water before turning back to the book. Sigma started eating along with Nikolai.
"Mmm! This food sure is good! Are you sure you don't want to order anything Dos-kun?" Nikolai said loudly, obviously hinting at Fyodor ordering some food.
"I'm fine." Fyodor simply replied. His hair was covering most of his face from the position he was in at the table, still reading.
After about an hour, Nikolai and Sigma decided to leave the café. Fyodor still wasn't cooperating, but at least he had drank all the water. They got up from the table as Fyodor slowly shut his book. He got up quickly to follow them out, almost impatient to leave.
Nikolai watched Fyodor pause for a moment as he got up, he looked almost dizzy.
Fyodor had stood up too fast, he always forgot about his anemia. He had been pretty tired this whole trip, so him feeling more dizzy than usual as he got up was reasonable. But he did not want to end up fainting in front of Sigma and Nikolai.
Nikolai turned round to see Fyodor still standing still as Sigma walked out the café.
"Dos-kun?"
Fyodor heard Nikolai's voice but his vision had gone all fuzzy, this wasn't good. Almost as soon as he thought that, he felt himself stumble over-
Nikolai rushed over as Fyodor simply fell forward, making sure to catch him before he hit the ground, "Dos-kun?"
Nikolai looked at Fyodor, who had seemed to have fainted. Sigma stood in the doorway, looking worried.
Fyodor opened his eyes again, feeling the grip of gloves around his arms. As he regained his vision he saw the white braid of Nikolai's hair.
"Oh good, your awake again. How long was that, Sigma?" Nikolai turned his head to Sigma who had been timing how long it had been since Fyodor had passed out.
"Thirteen seconds." Sigma replied.
Nikolai didn't really know what to do in these situations, but Sigma had some medical training from the Casino, so they worked off of that.
Fyodor chose to stay quiet as the commotion happened around him. He managed to stand up straight again, ignoring the fact Nikolai was still supporting him from the waist. He blinked a bit before fully getting focus of what was happening around him.
"Are you okay, Dos-kun?" Nikolai repeated, now heard by Fyodor.
"Hm? Yes." Fyodor simply replied. Adjusting his hat and letting Nikolai take his hands off his waist. Balancing with no support again.
"What happened?" Nikolai asked worriedly, he had never seen Fyodor act so weak before.
"Anemia." Fyodor simply answered, then realising he had never brought it up with anyone before.
"You have anemia?!" Nikolai gasped, "Why didn't you tell us? Why didn't you tell me?!"
Nikolai sounded almost offended, Fyodor mumbled something pretty inaudible about it not being important.
"It's important!" Nikolai lectured Fyodor in a half-jokingly way, "What if something super bad happened?"
Fyodor stared at Nikolai silently, bored look back on his face. Sigma kept watching from a distance.
Nikolai almost gasped in relief seeing Fyodor back to normal. He couldn't resist pulling Fyodor into a tight hug, wrapping his arms round Fyodor's whole body.
Sigma looked over at Fyodor's stunned face as Nikolai trapped him in his arms, obviously not expecting it.
As Nikolai let go, Fyodor gave him a faint smile, which made Nikolai beam with joy. He pulled Fyodor to where Sigma had been stood, finally leaving the café. Fyodor followed, promising himself to involve himself more next time they did something like this.
