Work Text:

Cellbit had one mission, get in and get out. The grocery store wasn’t even that large in the first place but it was made even smaller by the red string that was leaning across the parking lot and through the doors of the supermarket. Other people passed by not knowing the string was there. Cellbit was one of only two people that could see the string connecting him to his soulmate.

Cellbit is sure there was a time in his life that he had looked forward to meeting his soulmate but that time had long since passed. Somewhere between his time in prison and him getting out, the desire to find his soulmate had faded. He had started to think that he wouldn't meet his soulmate until they were both old and well through their lives. If it wasn't for the fact that no one with a string had ever not met their soulmate, Cellbit would almost think he was doomed to never meet his. The fact that he thought it would be a long time till he met his soulmate was why he agreed to raise Richarlyson with Pac, Mike, and Felps. Now that he had a son- a sick son, to take care of the universe decided to dangle his soulmate in front of him.

Cellbit, despite his reservations, takes a breath and makes his way to the automatic doors of the store. Cellbit feels as if he is being watched but knows he isn’t, there is hardly anyone in the store and none of them are stareing at him. His soulmate didn’t even know how close Cellbit was to know that he could be looking for him. Cellbit groans as he realizes that the red string leads towards the medicine aisle before turning off in an aisle before it. Cellbit looks dead ahead as he walks down the main aisle of the store quickly, trying to get past the aisle his soulmate is in before his soulmate can realize he is here.

Cellbit can't help but hold his breath as he walks down past all the aisle leading up to the aisle his soulmate is down. As Cellbit approaches the aisle he knows he needs to walk past fast so he isn't seen but he can't help but let himself look. Cellbit is glad when he glances down the aisle that his soulmate’s attention is focused on something in his hands. Cellbit can’t help but find the man attractive as he examines the box in his hands, his dark brown hair being kept out of his face with a bandana despite how his is looking down at the box. Cellbit hates that he has to pull his attention away and continue to make his way along before the guy notices. He is attractive enough that if Cellbit wasn't here for his son that he would have waited for the other man to notice him.

Cellbit manages to pull himself away from looking at the other man and make his way to the medicine aisle. Cellbit starts to examine the section with all the cold medicines. Pac had made sure to instruct him that he had to get the kid’s medicine. Cellbit wasn’t stupid enough to try and give Richarlyson adult medicine but he hadn’t expected finding the children’s medicine on the shelf to be that difficult. Cellbit tries not to growl at the shelf of medicine as he examines each box, one by one making his way through the shelves.

“¿Necesitas ayuda?” A voice asks, from next to Cellbit.

Cellbit looks up and notices his soulmate standing next to him. He looks even more handsome close up with his brown eyes staring at Cellbit. Cellbit glances back at the shelves of medicine and tries not to glance at the red string hanging between their hands.

“Estou tentando encontrar remédios para crianças.” Cellbit replies, keeping his focus on the shelves and not the handsome man beside him.

“Aquí.” The man said bending down and reaching out with his hand that had the string tied to it to grab a box.

“Obrigado.” Cellbit replies, taking the box from the man.

The two stare awkwardly at each other for a moment. The brunette seems to be studying Cellbit’s face. Cellbit can feel his cheeks turning red and he isn't sure if its from embarrassment or from how the other man is looking at him.

“Eu deveria levar isso pro meu filho em casa.” Cellbit states, shaking the box in his hand.

“Déjame darte mi número.” The man says, reaching into his pockets and pulling out a piece of paper and a pen.

Cellbit stares at the man as he holds the paper against his hand to write on it.

“Aquí, Gatinho.” The man says, holding out the paper.

“Cellbit.” Cellbit states, trying to ignore how his cheeks were heating up even more as he takes the paper.

“Bueno Cellbit, envíame un mensaje de texto alguna vez.” The man says with a wink, before he walks away.

Cellbit momentarily watches the man walk away and swears the man is purposefully swaying his hips while he walks. As the man gets back to the end of the aisle he turns and winks at Cellbit before walking away. Cellbit only then realizes that he never got the man’s name.

Once Cellbit is home and Richarlyson has had his medicine, Cellbit finally pulls the piece of paper out of his pocket. When Cellbit opens up the note he is glad to see that the man was nice enough to add his name after the number. Roier. He thinks it fits him. Cellbit is surprised to see pen markings from the other side of the paper and is surprised to see a partially crossed out shopping list in black pen.

Leche. Crema para cafe. Pan. All crossed off with a single line of blue pen similar to the pen Roier used to write his number.

The next line is scribbled out in the same black pen that was used to make the list. Cellbit struggles to make out the word hidden but eventually manages to. Verga. Cellbit can't help but chuckle especially when he reads the next word crossed off with a single blue line. Huevos. The next four items were not crossed off along with one farther down the list.

Cellbit pulled out his phone and made Roier a contact before opening up his messages.

You message Roier: i hope you didnt forget anything on your shopping list since you gave it to me

Cellbit nervously goes to add a message saying that it was him messaging before a message appears causing Cellbit to stop typing.

Roier messages You: hola gatinho
Roier messages You: i forgot my sons chicken nuggets he is very angry with me

Cellbit smiles at the thought of Roier also having a child similar to his own son. Maybe once Richarlyson was feeling well the two could hang out. The phone in Cellbit’s hand vibrates again with a new message.

Roier messages You: you owe me

Cellbit rolls his eyes as he responds to the message.

You message Roier: would a date suffice, guapito

Roier messages You: tal vez pero un beso seria mejor

Cellbit rolls his eyes. He feels like he should have expected the other man to say something like that with how their interaction had gone but still finds himself staring at the message; his cheeks heating up. He wouldn't mind kissing the man right now if he could but he also really wants to sit down and get to know him.

You message Roier: um encontro e um beijo para você guaptio
