Work Text:
Kim Donghee held his breath as he waited for the video call to connect. He’d been patient enough to even call him this late. He knew that Go Hotae would be up anyway. Despite everything his boyfriend was still a night owl. He shifted a little on the bed to get more comfortable. Today had been a long day and this would be his treat.
“Hold on, baby.” Go Hotae’s deeper timber voice greeted him but what stole his breath wasn’t the endearment but the fact that Go Hotae answered shirtless and a towel wrapped around his waist. Kim Donghee swallowed and reached for the water on his bedside to keep from gawking despite having every right too.
“T-take your time.” He stumbled to get out and prayed the other didn’t notice. Though by the small smirk on the younger man’s lips he was sure he had. He was just giving him grace and not calling him out on it.
There was a brief moment where Go Hotae stepped out of screen then he was back after the sound of a door closing.
“The only taking of my time I want is me-”
“Don’t finish that sentence or I’ll hang up.” Kim Donghee chided him and could feel the heat rising on his cheeks. It’d been two weeks since Go Hotae went to help his friend move. He didn’t like that it cut into the small vacation they were supposed to be on starting tomorrow. He’d be arriving by himself first at the villa.
“Fine, I’ll behave.” Go Hotae laughed softly, then did the exact opposite as he let the towel fall before putting on his boxers.
“Eh, Brat!” Kim Donghee chided besides appreciatively eyeing his lover. Even if he wasn’t swimming professionally as Go Hotae had planned he still fit.
“What?” Go Hotae tilted his head as he grabbed his cropped sweats off the bed, putting them on before grabbing his phone to flop on his bed.
“You should dry your hair before you fall asleep.” Kim Donghee decided that it would be a better topic.
“I’m letting it airdry and you’re the one that looks about to drop. I should have brought you with me.” Go Hotae stated as he got comfortable. It made Kim Donghee wish the same thing. He knew that he’d sleep better tonight if his boyfriend was holding him.
“Then how much help would you have been to Jin and Seran?” Kim Donghee snorted. He didn’t underestimate his level of distraction for the younger man.
“The work would have gotten done.” Go Hotae mused.
“Not like it is now and because of that I get to have you back in twenty-four hours.” Kim Donghee found himself smiling as he shamelessly shared this after peering at the time on his laptop again to do the mental math.
“Counting down the hours?”
“Like you're not.”
“Never said I wasn't.”
He had drunk too much at dinner but the food and company had been just as good. Kim Donghee was sad that Go Hotae’s flight got delayed and he planned to make the younger man make it up to him. So at dinner he’d drink and ate his fill then returned to the villa while their friends happily went to their own.
He took a shower then pulled on one of his thread barren t-shirt and boxers before slipping into bed. If he used the shampoo he packed for Go Hotae then that was his business. He checked his phone one more time then texted Go Hotae the keycode to get in. waiting on his boyfriend’s response is when he finally drifted off.
It wasn’t the dip in the bed but the arm wrapping around his waist that had Kim Donghee stirring. He could smell his boyfriend’s cologne so he didn’t panic. Go Hotae gently pulled him back flush against his chest, his leg slipping between Kim Donghee’s as he settled in to hold him close.
“You're late.” Kim Donghee sleepily slurred, guiding Go Hotae’s hand to intertwine above his heart.
“I’m here now.” Go Hotae responded softly, pressing a kiss to the top of his boyfriend’s head. Kim Donghee smiled as he closed his eyes. That much was true and he would enjoy the rest of the time they had here in getting the younger man to make it up to him for the lost time.
