“no. no. oh my god.” Lucy mumbled to herself as she stared at the two pink lines. Holy shit. This was really happening. She had to leave for work in an hour and knew she didn’t want to spring it on Tim right before she left, since he was off today. She stuffed the test into her pocket and walked back into Tim’s (technically their’s now since she never leaves anyways) bedroom. She grabbed her bag for work and slipped the test inside before heading to the kitchen where she found Tim standing in front of the stove, shirtless, cooking. She would never get tired of this view.
He turned around when he heard her set her bag down by the door and make her way to Kojo who was still peacefully sleeping on his bed. She gave him some love then headed towards Tim. She shouldv’e known he would see right through her. “You okay babe?” Tim asked as he wrapped his arms around Lucy. “hmm? Yeah I’m good. That for me?” She said as she pointed towards the scrambled eggs in the pan. “And for Kojo of course” He winked as he made her a plate.
Lucy definitely wasn’t expecting to be nauseous so soon, but as soon as she took a bite, she felt a warmth in her throat and her stomach clenching. Trying to hide it from Tim she quickly sipped her coffee. She knew he would be excited and happy, but she also felt anxiety due to the fact that they have only been dating for a few months.
“I think I might call in sick today. We haven’t had a day off together in awhile and I’m not feeling great.” She said as she walked to the sink to rinse her plate and cup. Tim was almost taken back by what she said. She never calls in. “Babe, you need to go in, and we both have next Friday off. Maybe we can take a day trip somewhere, just us and Kojo.” He smiled as he walked over and kissed her forehead. She smiled, “Yeah that sounds good.” Lucy knew her smile didn’t look very convincing but she also knew he was right.
As she headed into the locker room to change, she felt the nausea creeping its way back in. She slowly changed, put her hair up, and made her way to roll call. Not even realizing, she walked in late, as Grey was finishing assignments and bidding goodbye with his famous “be safe out there.” She shook her head as she approached Grey, apologizing. She knew she was riding with Aaron today, so she made her way to get their war bags. She climbed into the shop, surprising Aaron that she wasn’t driving. He glanced her way. “Everything okay?” He asked as he noticed she looked a little more pale than usual. “Yeah yeah just a weird morning.”
