Work Text:
It was rather quiet today.
Surprisingly, a gentle breeze was the only thing really moving the place along, thanks to the AC inside the giant Daycare, that made sure none of the little ones would die of a heatstroke in summer or freeze in the winter.
One would think its was almost abandoned if they hadn't seen it in the daytime; then it was full of kids playing, making messes and driving the adults there insane for their own satisfaction.
Dust had now settled onto the foam, the smallest little cracks in the gentle fabric that hundreds of children had probably stepped onto over the years that was now only rustled by a broom, held by the dearest Caretaker of the Daycare.
The broom did a good job wiping every dust speckle away, making the place look like it was just rebuilt like everyday.
Sun was aware of how quiet the Daycare got when all the children finally left, having had their day lightened up with the assortment of toys, arts and crafts tools and their lovely robotic Daycare Attendant who did everything for them.
Said Daycare Attendant was moving along the foam, letting it give in under his heavy weight, every step leaving the smallest imprint to remind him. To remind him of how he wasn't human.
Nowadays, though... it sometimes felt like it.
Ever since the body-split with Moon - who let him tell you, was a genius for doing it - most his actions felt more alive than one would think, making the sun sometimes forget that he was clunk of heavy metal with an advanced A.I., not a loving person who could press against their own flesh and feel it squish.
He could feel pain when hitting his rays against a play structure, joy when people complimented him and sadness when one would ignore the robot for nothing but their own self-love.
But in return, his life turned into a living hell, where simple robots somehow got involved with magic, the government, hundreds of villains who he wonders were truly villains or just robots with issues, and for christ sake, Intergalactic beings.
So, yeah.
A bit insane.
Yet, he decided ignorance was the best option for it currently, not dwelling on the fact as the broom finally swept away all the dust on the floor… or at least the dust that hasn't appeared.
Double-checking the barrels was a necessity for the clean-freak too, watching it glisten in the light as he just somehow begged for there to be a mistake so he could ignore his life further.
But nonetheless, he always was a perfectionist in his craft, so everything shone like the beautiful sun rays in the morning.
Well, beside the lingering hallucinations behind the play structures that didn't go away, leaving black non-existent vomit stains into the ground to torment him further for not taking his medication.
Oh, yeah, did he tell you he forgot to refill his meds?
Because he did.
Inside, he felt terribly ashamed of forgetting to refill them, afterall, he was a perfectionist! How could a perfectionist forget his own fucking meds-
Then he reminded himself that that may be because he never told anyone about the fact that he was taking three types of meds, only mildly being sure if he was taking the right doses.
But that didn't matter anyway, because he was a robot, and a robot didn't need to take the right dosage of meds even if the Neutrons inside his body may be able to correctly react to it.
In other words: kill him.
And in reality, he didn't think that even if he would ask or tell them to keep check on the daily doses, there first would be a hell of a yelling session why in the everloving fucking hell he didn't tell them that he was taking random meds without knowing the doses that could surely kill him due to his fucking stupidity-
So, in context, it was a simple act of later going to the pharmacy without anyone knowing and surely almost accidentally revealing the fact he's a walking robot to society who consumes medication due to magical neutrons while wearing a human disguise.
Okay, maybe he's talking too much about meds.
Point is, Sun may have not spoken or had a word about his mental illness to other people, or have really visited his friends in a while, which may have been the reason he's struggling currently, but it was fine!
With a last hum, he put away the broom, taking a quick peek around the empty Daycare again as without any distractions left, soft lumps started to grow in his stomach, giving him slight aches in the belly.
Or whatever one could call the Insides. Inner workings? Core model? Wire place?
Didn't matter, it made Sun feel like absolute shit.
A note he also took was that seemingly the small hallucinations here and there increased, watching him from the holes in the play structure, on the ceiling and in the vents, making him very sure that he's gonna go-
Tomorrow. Tomorrow sounds good, as his limbs feel as heavy as rocks.
Actually, scratch that. Boulders. All his leftover limbs felt like boulders and his head emptied out the fog and cotton that made up the clean process and filled it with dirty, disgusting depressing thoughts, which didn't help his misery.
With a quiet groan, the dear Daycare robot pondered for a moment as he leaned against the big table with all the computers and tools he kept away from the kids usually, gripping onto the metal parts harshly.
A heavy groan left his metallic lips and through his closed teeth, letting another sloppy hand slide onto the forehead to bring comfort to the overwhelming thoughts which only worked half of the time, but currently very much not.
Only option left would be his room, which luckily nobody would enter today anyway because everyone was extremely busy which they were everyday.
Earth was busy babysitting Lunar everyday and hanging out with Monty, Ruin was probably hanging out with forkface or whatever, Solar was stealing Moon from him and everyone else would not fucking give a shit if he was alive in the first place, so why didn't he just-
…..
Room sounds just about fantastic right now, actually.
Sun took a quiet breath, letting his programming options do the work to ring the wonderful rope down that he used to get up to the balcony in the past, as nowadays he usually preferred using magic…
Today though, his motivation hit rock bottom as he clicked the sweet rope into his lock, letting it properly sling against the loop like he was preparing to rock climb.
With a quick tug, the Daycare Attendant was slowly lifted into the air, taking the moment to breathe a fresh breeze of air that he didn't know his non-existent lungs needed, before stepping-
-oh god the rope clicked off, why did it click off? I didn't even touch the ground with my other-
Correction - leaped onto the balcony with a heavy shudder as he noticed the rope having dislodged itself.
Right.
He used to do flips into the air since the Sun would always be full of energy, giving the perfect greetings and a perfect goodbye to the kids' amusement, like any attraction would.
….That didn't happen anymore since naptime actually happened with another person like Lunar and not him.
And everyone teleported or jumped these days to the balcony, leaving the thing with no job and nothing else to do but wait for something.
Guess the rope was always prepared.
Sludging through their small empty living space, he took it upon himself to ignore any new rooms that may have been added since so many, MANY new animatronics came into their life like Ruin or Solar.
Off-brand Moon-esque-stealing, Eclipse lookalike-
Nowadays, they luckily revived Solar and somehow got Ruin to live with them again, but he didn't know if that was for the better or worse with all the stuff going on.
The glances Sun made were mostly to any eye that wasn't there before, a tentacle trying to scare him or the non-existent oil on the floor that he sometimes trudged onto, fading as soon as it got out of sight.
Finally reaching the room of his desire though, the Attendant let fingers slip onto the doorknob, twisting it gently yet also sloppily due to half-hearted care and a throbbing headache.
What one was greeted with…was surprisingly small.
The room had changed a bit since the last time, which Sun didn't notice in his tired state often enough, making him take a peek around as a gift while having the time now.
The first thing to spot was the big closet, which was a peak brown, lines going around its small doors and having caught some splinters here and there due to some…
Angry punches which were fixed with magic.
Inside were about hundreds of outfits from red to black, to rainbow to monotone to which he used barely any off. Look, handling a Daycare and daily de-...issues makes you struggle to wear anything other than your work pants and red ribbon around your pants, which he just so noticed dangled off softly to the side.
Also hidden inside was something the dear robot didn't touch anymore….
But Sun didn't even speak of it.
Another small peek was made onto a small treasure chest which contained toys Sun didn't play with anymore - he wasn't a stupid idiot, he didn't need toys - and some inventions (which were extremely dumb, Moon was the smart one) so, barely opened as well.
The wall above it, though, held more memory than anything, giving him almost the softest smile as he stared at his simple Wall of Delight.
It included a lot of children’s drawings of him and the whole family, that the kids had so lovingly made, he just couldn't NOT put them onto the wall.
A rare shine on the worse days for sure.
But as the headache made his head spin again, his scrunched up face made sure to finally bring him to the giant object of desire-
His bed.
One satisfied hum later and Sun threw his body onto the mattress, nuzzling into the soft yellow bed sheets for comfort, fresh and cold from no one touching them beside him.
Crawling forward more properly, he pressed his head against a nearby pillow, soaking himself in the warm comfort of his own room, even pulling the soft blanket closer as a comfort.
Sometimes this felt like the only escape from reality with all the mess that was going on, as no one entered the room of the “freak” or “dumb one”, as everyone kept calling him.
The headache soothed itself over time, letting Sun prick the smallest of tears between his eyes as he shut his eyes freshly, finally hoping to escape this hell-hole.
….
Maybe Sun forgot time a bit though.
A faint knocking on the door and a voice that has the raspiest of tones made him suddenly aware that he may just have taken a quick nap, not even noticing how late it was.
Another knock finally made the Attendant rub his eyes, blinking as his hearing sensors noted the voice that was just behind his door.
“Hey, uh- idiot. You there?”
Oh.
Eclipse.
Groaning firmly, a quick hand dusted himself off, sitting up and steadying up his rays as he now just noticed how they were bent over the whole time.
And rays do tell emotions sometimes.
“O-Oh, yeah. Doors unlocked, you can come in.” Sun said carefully, internally wondering why he just let someone who he probably hated into his heavily-private room.
It didn't really matter as the door slowly opened up with a soft creaking noise, as some faint orange light coming from the villain painted the walls, his bed and a bit of Sun softly, making the robot squint his eyes for a second.
Most animatronics had a small feature he liked to call the ‘Nightlight Mode’, which made the whole body glow in whatever light the shell may have - for example, blue for Moon or gray for Roxanne, and of course for Eclipse, orange.
But it was a comforting orange, one would see when the sun has finally gone behind the hills, making it not hurt in the eyes too much but still showing its last beauty before it fades.
“....Man, your room looks like shit.”
Yet also a reminder of what he forgot to peek at in Eclipse’s case.
A faint crackle of a candy wrapper being stepped on ruined the silence as an disgusted grumble was heard, making Sun look up to see Eclipse dusting off his shoe and looking unimpressed.
The Daycare Attendant took a single glance down, finally noticing the leftover pajamas, wrappers or bags that weren't discarded and broken parts of inventions he tried making.
Emphasis on tried, as they were later left to get destroyed out of frustration.
So much for a clean-freak if he couldn't even clean his own room.
“I guess.” Sun managed to mumble softly as he used his tired limbs to sit up, pressing part of his back against the pillows as a help to not just slid down onto his back again.
Silence filled the room as none of them spoke, the air heavy with awkwardness and probably the smell of oily clothes Sun didn't bother to wash these days anymore.
But Eclipse interrupted it, as he usually did, letting his voice fill the empty spots of his hearing sensors. “Wanna go grocery shopping?”
…
What.
“Excuse me?”
“You know, grocery shopping. The thing humans do due to their pathetic inner needs.” Eclipse repeated with a hum, leaning against the bedframe and barely towering over Sun as a smirk grew on the robot's face, clearly showing he was serious about it and not sarcastic. “And we now can do, because we have pathetic needs now.”
Even if that's the usual for him.
“Why would we need-” The Daycare Attendant tried to interrupt, but swiftly got a hand put against his mouth, much to his annoyance.
“Jesus, just because you don't eat food doesn't mean the kids and your siblings do!” With a swift removal of the hand in his mouth, Eclipse threw his arms behind his head and relaxed slightly. “So, to say it quickly, we got to restock.”
A snicker left the old villain's mouth, raspy soft snorts and chuckles mixed in that weirdly calmed Sun for a moment…even if his confusion sparked too during it.
“And why should I tag along exactly…?” making the smallest effort to show he was actually listening, the Daycare Attendant properly sat up, going criss-cross applesauce with his legs.
Weirdly easier to remember the motion through kids rhymes, but that's what Daycare programming does to you.
“Well, Moon is an untrustworthy moron, so he doesn't let me leave without a damn supervisor-” With a quick grab to the arm - somehow careful - Eclipse was right in his face, rolling his eyes with another hum leaving that sharp mouth. “SOOO, you have to come with me!”
Silence filled the room once again, this time with a soft uncertainty as Sun stared into Eclipse’s face.
“You…well…” Sun began to say, but thought again.
Moon often voiced how much he had changed after the factory reset, how his brother would finally be good and spend time together with him and be kinder-
Yet the only thing kinder was the fact he wasn't yelled at anymore.
And besides, this might actually be a good distraction for his thoughts AND perhaps get him an excuse to take a trip to the pharmacy to get medication for the- the children!
Not for him, nope, nada, naaaaaaaahh-
“...Alright, fine. Whatever.” Sun replied with a soft grumble, rubbing the leftover tiredness out of his eyes as the notice of the lack of any migraines finally came to him, making him grateful that it didn't feel like his head was getting rubbed against a cheese grater.
As the hand was removed from his arm, Eclipse gave another stupid smirk, walking away.
“Great! But you gotta change out of your stupid Daycare Attendant clothes first!” Eclipse suddenly mentioned, stomping over to the closet and ripping it open, leaving some dots and more scratches due to his sharp fingers.
Probably never thought of polishing them or cared to do it.
“What-” Now with full attention, Sun sat up straight, staring into his maybe-brother-presumably-enemy back with a confused stare due to the whole situation.
“Wait, why…why do we need these?” Sun asked carefully, watching as his clothes got taken out and looked through, the soft fabrics touched by Eclipse and getting pressed together every time he looked at an article closer.
A hand was raised, doing a waving motion. “You know how… ‘humans’ are. They’ll freak out if they see walking robots walking around!” The phrase sounded weird, ironic and sarcastic at the same time, as Sun knew that they just had to disguise themselves as humans…
But to give Eclipse credit, clothes are needed though, as they couldn't just walk around with only Daycare pants, as that would only add to some weirdness to see shirtless men in winter, so the villain had a point.
Somehow.
“Why did you say human like that-” Sun wanted to say, but quickly took a glance as Eclipse lifted up some yellow clothing, probably a jacket or something -
“Doesn't matter, catch!” - and threw it right into his face, making him tumble backwards into his bed with a groan, giving him a reminder to later get more plushies on his bed.
Taking the moment to compose himself, the Daycare Attendant silently got up probably now, rolling to the side to get to the edge of the bed and then sitting up there.
Now pulling the clothes out of his face and fumbling with it, he took a long glance at what he had right there in his robotic hands.
What he had in his hand was a short sleeved and belly-less cardigan, yellow in color, with the edges of it a neat orange. Also included with what was thrown on him were black sleeves that went under the short sleeves and up to his hands.
Eclipse was currently putting on a copy of said clothing, just differentiated by a black scarf, probably for…style? And of course with a darker orange.
Sun questioned this for a moment.
“Cant- Can't we just use a human disguise?” Was the first comment that came to mind as he slowly slipped the sleeves on, letting it press against metal skin as the cardigan came next.
It fit together rather nicely, even if it made no sense to just wear clothing without human disguises.
A snicker was heard as he waved his hands again. “Won't matter, and besides, you actually look dashing!” Eclipse left the comment there for a moment as he smirked at his counterpart.
That.
Was a.
Compliment.
“...Thanks?”’ Sun mumbled the words out silently, rubbing his hands silently as his feet finally reached the ground, standing up shakily.
Maybe staying in bed all the time wasn't as benefiting if your legs felt like jelly afterwards.
Yet as he finally took his gaze up to the wall, he was instead greeted by a mirror, held up by Eclipse himself. The reflection gave him some thoughts.
Admittedly, Sun had some struggles in the past day with his appearance, feeling more and rather like a stupid copy than his own being as more and more Daycare-like animatronics like Ruin or Forkface came around.
Now though as he looked at himself in the mirror with the new clothes?
There was…relief.
Sun looked different from the others.
“Heh, I knew you would love it.” Eclipse said snarkily, but for once the Daycare Attendant completely ignored it. He just felt good right now. Even when the mirror was pulled away.
A quick look at his hands made him feel a bit more alive and comfortable.
But that feeling of satisfaction was completely snapped in half as he was gripped on the arm again, making Eclipse chuckle as he started to run forward. “Come on, don't forget that we need to still GET to the place.”
Sun huffed with a roll of his eyes, more or less not caring that much anymore as he was now adjusting to be Eclipse's babysitter for today.
As they reached the balcony, Eclipse gave a satisfied sigh for some reason, his shoulders finally slumping down as he brushed his rays back like the guy had hair.
Which he had not, but Sun could not blame his- acquaintance, as he himself does that sometimes.
“Okay, so I may have lied.” came a sudden admission from the orange Celestial’s mouth, making Sun snap his head over like someone told him his brother died.
Again.
“Excuse me?” Sun could only sputter as he was dragged into an orange portal, flinching horribly as he got to the other side of it…
And he may have not expected the fighting Colosseum to be their next spot of visit.
Most didn't know it, but there was a specific dimension that housed an arena to let their stress out, giving waves and waves of enemies In a Gray-white-skin coloured colosseum under a completely purple sky.
And in the middle of nothing, as the purple void seemed endless.
Sun was one of the people who used it more secretly, mostly because he had a lot of pent up stress that he didn't show to people or anyone in particular-
But let's not talk about that.
“Okay, can you explain why the fuck we are here?!” Sun allowed one swear out of anger to leave his mouth, glaring at Eclipse as he kept dragging him, even teleporting him to the edge of the area's walls.
One could always eye the undeniable cracks that found themselves into the old structure, a reminder that this area has been through alot through the decades.
Eclipse was stomping over pieces and bits of bricks there as he let go of Sun for a moment.
“Well, we are technically going grocery shopping, just…not in the human world.” Eclipse corrected himself, slowly turning around and walking backwards, closer and closer to the edge of the cliff.
With that, a spark of fear started to ball up inside of Sun's throat and stomach, bringing him pain. Without his knowledge, his pupils got way smaller than normal.
“H-Hey, what are you doing-?” a stutter left his mouth as he unconsciously reached out a hand, making Eclipse perk up curiously and luckily stopping before doing anything dangerous.
The villain glanced up confused, not getting why Sun was panicking, before the simple realization came into place.
“Oh, right- Not too comfortable about that, hm?” Sun heard the smallest bit of reassurance in there as Eclipse stepped forward again, showing he wasn't gonna indulge in any fears Sun had.
This might be because Eclipse was taught by Sun a bit after the last revival, as they wanted to see if giving the lifeless-recycled-four-times villain to the horribly-depressed Daycare Attendant was a good idea.
Apparently, it was, because Eclipse was actually making progress in his kind department.
The Daycare Robot felt appreciation for once since death…was really something he didn't feel comfortable with anymore after everything that had happened-
You get that kind of anxiety when you saw every single one of your family members die.
“Okay, so, the place we are getting groceries at is off this cliff.”
And that comment sparked the worry RIGHT UP AGAIN.
Sun stared for a second as Eclipse said that, letting his small pupils stare at the celestial before him.
“Eclipse, I swear to god if you’re lying-”
“I am not; promise!” Eclipse stepped back a bit as he argued, but dragged Sun closer to the cliff with it, making a soft gulp leave his throat.
Eclipse made a demonstration as he picked up a broken off brick, throwing it into the everlasting abyss…before it disappeared without a trace, the…ground? Elevating with waves.
“Under us is a GIAAAANT portal, hiding much more than you can imagine from us…” The not-yet-redeemed villain said, standing up and extending his arms to show the size of said ‘portal’.
“And all we gotta do-” With a quick turn off the head, the bastard gave a stupid smirk and a mock-like stare, showing he wasn't kidding at all.. “-is jump in.”
“....Are you fucking KIDDING ME-” Sun yelled out drastically as he grabbed Eclipse by the cardigan and scarf, pulling him close and glaring daggers at him.
He didn't believe shit currently.
“Look, I know that sounds bad, but I can promise you, I'm not lying!” Eclipse didn't stop smiling, but there was nervousness hidden behind it as he pointed to the endlessness of the purple void. “We aren't gonna get hurt.”
A hand slipped onto Sun's palm, quietly rubbing it in an attempt to calm Sun's worries, even if Eclipse was horrible at it as it was scratching against his metal skin.
They both stared at each other slowly, with Eclipse carefully taking the fear-ridden hands of Sun off his clothing. “Trust me.” The words were meant to sound reassuring, but for a villain like him, they sounded more like a promise of death.
But what other choice did he have?
A lot, but Sun's forced people-pleaser side heavily depended on that trust as he didn't want to disappoint Moon or make him angry because they didn't get groceries.
And in the end, curiosity did bring him that sense of desperateness to see if Eclipse was a lying asshole or actually giving him a chance to see a whole new dimension.
So if with a heavy groan, he nodded silently.
“Fine. But if we die, that's on you.” Sun mumbled silently and with that, Eclipse pulled him next to him with a grin, both facing away from the cliff as they held hands.
Sun turned his head a bit, staring down at the everlasting purple abyss that swallowed the stone whole, with them joining in way too soon.
“Good! On three, we let ourselves fall down the cliff, ‘kay?” Eclipse said with a big and mischievous smile as he held the trembling hand of Sun between his fingers, making sure he didn't let go at any point.
Sun stared, but gave the quietest of nods, even if a hundred to thousand worries swarmed his mind why they should not fucking fall down the edge off a cliff, but whatever.
To be frank with you, Sun only barely listened to the other animatronic as he started counting, static starting to clog his mind from worry.
Everything felt claustrophobic, even in an open space like this, like they couldn't take a single step without actually falling-
Yet, with one last breath from Sun and a soft hum from Eclipse…
They fell.
And oh my god, Sun regretted it one second in.
“CORRECTION, IM NOT FUCKING OKAY WITH THIS-” Sun screamed in terror as he lunged for Eclipse, holding onto him like his life depended on it, while the other animatronic simply looked at his non-existent nails and shrugged.
“Jesus, dramatic much?” Eclipse calmly held Sun for once, rubbing the back till they finally crashed through the portal…which hurt like a bitch, might Sun tell you-
Preferring to ignore the fact they were falling rapidly, Sun slammed his head into Eclipse's stomach, deciding he was gonna hide in there till they landed safely.
…
Wait, how are they gonna land-
CRASH
Ah.
They don't.
Sun barely heard whatever was going on or even if there was something going on as he recovered from the impact, stumbling backwards and letting his back fall onto the blurry red space one could call ground for now.
“O…....is…y…ay?”
Words were exchanged between a blurry blue figure and an orange figure, which for now he assumed was Eclipse due to his squinted eyes.
With a soft groan, a hand slipped onto his stomach, surprisingly rubbing it in an attempt to give the smallest of comfort due to the crash, giving him time to properly recover.
Words seemed to finally make sense to him too as the Daycare Attendant listened.
“You alright, idiot?” Eclipse said with a huff, removing the hand to act like he didn't care two seconds ago that he might have broken his- forced acquaintance.
“....’m fine.” Sun mumbled, telling the weird blue blob so they wouldn't be worried. With a quick tug from Eclipse, he was back on his feet, rubbing his eyes and looking around.
Now taking a proper look at his surroundings, he noticed that they were at some sort of bus-station, completely blue in color like a normal one, but standing on a big piece of red rock.
And with a glance to the blue blob, he notices that it was a weird shaped figure, using shapes like triangles and such to make up the form.
Sun didn't assume the gender though.
Eclipse did a kind thing for once and helped Sun sit down on the waiting chairs, sitting down beside him so that one could easily lean on the shoulder. “Sorry, the landings aren't usually this rough when I'm alone.” Eclipse awkwardly chuckled, patting his head.
“Is the little one okay?” the blue being said softly, mostly differentiating from high to down, its spheres and shapes sometimes spinning in interest.
“Yeah, he'll be fine. We're just waiting on the plaza bus.” Eclipse reassured with a wave to the shape, to which the blue one simply nodded in response and got to the side again.
Sun discretely nudged Eclipse a bit, staring into the shape’s back, raising a brow. “...Do you know them?” The question floated in the air for him as they seemed casual, and Eclipse seemed more like the type to complain to them instead.
“Oh, kinda. They just wait often here like a lot of other people.” Eclipse said with a dismissive wave as be leaned back, finally letting go of the other Celestial in favour of staring up at the other floating rocks.
Most seemed to have small things like shops or random plants on them, showing that the place was definitely some kind of a civilisation or tourist spot that was definitely cared for, if the plants growing in the infinite purple nothingness was anything to go off of.
An admiration grew from there as he waited with Eclipse, seeing two buses come and go from seemingly nowhere as well, which Eclipse pulled him back from since it would apparently “take hours to find you again, moron.”
Word for word from Eclipse.
Though he had a fair point, since Sun figured it wasn’t easy to navigate this place without any help or a map.
If one would take the days to make a map for this weird place.
“...When does our bus arrive?” Sun finally mumbled after a while, noticing he had been half dozing off on the spot, already leaning against Eclipse's shoulder.
He was a bit surprised Eclipse didn't just push him away, but didn't mind it as he pressed against the soft fabric of the scarf and cardigan, closing his eyes a bit as he listened.
“What, so you can fall asleep on the bus?” Eclipse chuckled as he leaned a bit against the glass wall behind him, letting Sun take the rest since he was aware that this guy is an insomniac mess. “But…it's right….”
Sun suddenly heard a portal open nearby, rainbow in color, and a purple bus plopped into existence, floating around the rocks before reaching the bus stop, opening the doors to enter.
“There! Come on now, you sleepyhead.” Eclipse snickered as he helped the sleepy Attendant up, dragging him into the bus as the one who controlled it was a black blob.
Sun only partly noticed the unknown value of…coins? Chips? That Eclipse was pulling out and giving to the driver, instead looking more into the bus.
And it felt like a damn rainbow exploded in there.
Over fifty different colorful beings, creatures, animatronics and more were in there, sitting in the seats, holding on the handles or even just flying.
The sizes were different as well, some very big, some very tiny, some that took up two seats and some that just floated in the air, unnoticed by everyone.
It made Sun blink a bit more awake at the sight.
“Hey, Earth to Sun?” he was snapped out of it as Eclipse held a ticket before him. It was black in color, having purple diamonds at the edges and in a foreign language -luckily with an English translation - saying “Welcome to the Cluster Express!”
Deeper into the bus, they found their seats, sitting down beside each other as Eclipse let Sun take the sweet window spot, making him almost immediately smack his face against the window.
The tiredness was about gone now.
The Blob had now put the speakers on, holding their little device to speak. “Okay, everyone, our next stop will be the Cluster Centrum!” It announced happily as the bus started to fly again, leaving the station and Sun to watch everything slowly pass by.
Fascination was sprawled across the Celestial's face, staring into the purple sky as even more floating rocks with their trees, plants and houses were there, giving him alot to watch.
"Oh, buddy. If you think THIS is awesome, then I think you will just die from excitement later.” Eclipse chuckled softly as he stared at the excited Sun, making sure he wasn't smudging the window too much. “And if you're interested in the plants, the next visit we can do can be to the giant garden.”
Sun stopped for a second, contemplating everything as he turned his head to the villain. “Eclipse, how big is this place-?” he spoke, but only got a chuckle out of the man, who spinned his rays in excitement.
“You'll see.” Eclipse spoke with a smirk, closing his eyes and leaning against the seat as he relaxed through the ride as another portal to their destination was opened.
The speaker spoke again. “Okay everyone, we are soon arriving at our station. Don't forget any belongings you have with you, and I wish you a great time!” The Blob spoke extremely happily, slowly stopping as Sun flinched upon the quick stop.
Eclipse didn't speak this time, but motioned for Sun to come with him as he took his hand, winking at the Blob and giving him a few more coins for the speed.
“Now Sun. I will introduce you…. Eclipse spoke slowly, letting go of Sun's hand as his head finally lifted up to the sky beside Eclipse.
And holy shit, his breath was lost.
“Welcome to CLUSTERSPACE!”
For once, Sun was speechless.
He looked around in complete awe, just seeing the amount of people, creatures, spheres, animatronics- EVERYTHING that was here.
Hundreds of cars, ships, trains and more flew through the skies, as well as several drones, delivery bots and so much that he couldn't even begin to comprehend.
There were hundreds of shops that even his sight couldn't quite reach, not even being able to imagine how many kinds of attractions, restaurants, stores and such there possibly were.
And the main thing that baffled him the most?
The giant fucking SPHERE that floated just a bit outside of everything, glistening in the purple shine that it was made for, coated in particles and with drones coming out here and there.
Sun couldn't even believe what he was seeing.
Eclipse put a hand on Sun's shoulders, who was currently eyeing the floor below them, painted in green lines on the black floor like a program.
“This is the world of everything and everyone. Or as I like to call it.” Eclipse hummed, snickering to himself again as he took Sun's hand and walked over to the proper sidewalks, over the cracked pavement and to the silver floor. “If God decided to trash an entire dimension full of concepts.”
Sun groaned, feeling like Eclipse ruined the mood with that comment but shaking his head as he took a step back for some horror creatures that didn't seem like that would harm anyone currently due to their tasks.
Maybe it's just such a friendly place that nobody needs to fight?
“...This is astounding.” Sun finally spoke, following Eclipse as he was walking along the sidewalk to the right, as everyone on the left kept passing them or looking at the shops. “Why have you never-”
“-Told anyone about it?” Eclipse finished Sun’s sentence as he eyed around, seemingly searching for a particular store that one would go to for groceries.
That Sun might have almost forgotten about after everything.
Eclipse let a silent growl leave his lips as he started to cross his arms, rolling his eyes as well to add to the combo. “If Moon or anyone of your family was aware of this place, only chaos would ensue.” There was a faint awareness in that sentence, and Sun could actually secretly agree with it.
Moon would probably dissect every little piece of this dimension and question so many people that they would probably get banned, while if Lunar got here-
One would not want to know the Carnage.
But ..what if they-
Sun almost spoke, but the other orange Animatronic took the words out of his mouth. “Moon or the others can't come in, if that's what you wanna ask. The colosseum dimension is partly controlled by me, and the Clusterspace dimension has a specific function that only the ones you allow in can enter this and your dimension.” A small breath. “But if someone finds a way to make their portal themselves, then your lock doesn't apply to them.”
“....Sounds confusing.” Sun admitted, and a half-hearted chuckle left Eclipse's mouth.
“Oh, it is, but you’ll get it after some time.” he reassured as he kept walking, letting Sun take a look around.
It was fascinating how many universal beings were here, even different versions of himself, which would mean that even different Timelines or AUs can enter this place whenever they want!
Creepy, but Sun can't judge.
They kept walking for a while, slowly reaching a big-looking grocery store that seemed to go on for a while to the back with two floors.
Its main color was a faint yellow, with a sign nearby to dub itself the “Sunlight Gracer”. Sun guessed the name was there due to the rays at the top-side of the building coloured in orange.
“There we go!” Eclipse smiled, starting to enter through the sliding doors-
“Mr. Ecl-”
“Ah, JESUS- '' Eclipse suddenly flinched back as a weird flying drone appeared in front of him, staring him down with its weirdly adorable face.
The appearance was that it looked like a small dumpling, having a small smiley face on it with a propeller like Halloy on-top, spinning endlessly.
In addition to that, it also had on both sides something like arms, but only like sushi or wing-looking arms that were dislodged from the actual body with turbines under them.
A small stripe pattern was printed on said wings, making Sun suspect they all had different patterns each.
“Hey, you’re…one of the drones that came out of that giant sphere.” Sun mentioned, going a bit backwards to make space for others but to also take a longer look at the flying bee-presenting drone.
“Oh, I am! Mister Eclipse, it never said in your data that you had relatives or friends!” the drone said curiously, inspecting Sun and scanning him with a green beam, slowly letting it slide from head to toe.
"..I…he's not my relative. Just my stupid animatronic companion.” Eclipse corrected with a stern voice, crossing his arms as he looked at Sun getting bumped at and inspected.
“Ah, I haven't even introduced myself!” the drone snickered, slowly putting one of its wings under itself as the other morphed into a hand by cutting itself down into 3 different finger-like pieces. “C.P.S.! We are the Cluster Protection System! But you can call me Cust!”
The drone’s soft smile remained as Sun shook the hand, but curiously looked over to Eclipse. “You…are known here by the drones, or is that just the data from coming here a lot?” The Daycare Attendant asked curiously, as the villain looked away, crossing his arms.
Cust perked up curiously before shaking his head. “Oh, nono…he's…quite the Celebrity here, but mostly for his villainous actions.” the drone suddenly pulled out a huge list of crimes Eclipse committed in the Clusterspace, tinted in orange respectively.
Sun stared silently as he swiped through, noticing it's mostly very small crimes that are noted to “not affect a lot, just annoying”, while the major crimes count was only 3… yet, mysteriously he’d been excused to have another 3 chances. “What are these three chances about?”
“Oh- In Clusterspace we are pretty forgiving, since most of the people around here have some problems that can be solved by us! We were kinda like health experts!” Cust said with a proud hum, yet lowered itself down as it put up another explanation wall.
“You get three chances if you do major crimes, meaning if you do a big crime, one chance is gone.” Another wall was put up, implying someone in a prison cell. “Depending on how big the crime is, you can even go to jail! If all 3 chances are gone, you get banned for a while, or, at worst: FOREVER!” the drone screeched, making some people look over in confusion, but ignoring them otherwise.
Sun gave Eclipse a side-eye, as the other Celestial simply pressed into himself more uncomfortably. “But then…why isn't Eclipse banned?” it was a good question, yet as it was asked the drone seemed to look much more sympathetic.
It thought for a few seconds which felt like a damn eternity to Eclipse. A slow scratching noise was heard as the clay silently scratched open a bit of the fabric of the sleeves.
“...Well…there was-” Cust started, but was cut off by Eclipse grabbing Sun's arm and dragging him away while ignoring any complaints coming from the other individual. “Well, that doesn't matter-! Come on, Sunny, we still gotta get groceries!”
Sun could barely complain as he was dragged along without his permission, kicking a bit as he wanted the piece of information.
But he couldn't really choose as Eclipse currently had a death grip on him.
Cust stared back at them weirdly unsurprised, but in the end, could only sigh as another drone came over, informing them of some mockery at the other side of the center to the east.
With a heavy sigh, Cust turned around and flew away, hoping Eclipse would say it themselves.
[/>○○○○○○<\]
“I was not fucking uncomfortable.”
“Seemed like it though.”
The argument currently has been going on for about 10 minutes as they entered the store, to which Sun handled the cart and Eclipse threw whatever they needed into it without much thought.
Sun had to admit that the store did have everything they needed and more, with Eclipse throwing in comments like “these brands are better than humans ones” or other crap that goes about interdimensional foods that were to ignore what happened previously.
Which was Eclipse being a damn criminal while somehow not being banned.
“Look, if your just gonna fucking complain that I'm a criminal, than maybe I should just let you roam this place along!” Eclipse said in annoyance, throwing his hands up dramatically as a snarl left his lips. “After all, you don't want your villainous companion to bother you even if he showed you this dimension, HM-?” The Daycare Attendant had noticed that this was only getting worse if they didn't stop this now.
Surprisingly, he was exhausted again, his brain only not getting all the negative thoughts back because Eclipse’s complaining and talking was fogging it up quite nicely.
And in the end, Sun didn't want to fight in a grocery store in front of people.
Sun sighed softly, slowly giving Eclipse the cart, grooming his rays back, which made the other growl more but yet weirdly made him lower his shoulders for a moment.
Maybe it was just Eclipse noticing Sun's tiredness as all the shock and awe from this world died down - which was surprising but made Eclipse observe Sun more - but he didn't interrupt again to listen in.
“Look, this isn't gonna solve anything. How about we both take 10 and we meet each other in the front again when we calm down, ‘kay?” The suggestion stayed in the air for a moment as the Glare stayed on the bigger one's side.
The suggestion stayed there for a moment as the other crossed his arms, looking at the ground as his rays bent down slowly, making the apparent guilt of yelling at the bottom of his soul more seeable.
But in the end, Eclipse rolled his eyes once again and turned away from Sun, mostly to avoid showing much more emotion as he wasn't ready to apologize or mention their yelling anymore till he was ready.
“Fine.”
Eclipse stomped away angrily, taking the shopping cart with him but luckily still putting in groceries as he looked back just briefly before finally vanishing behind the hundreds of aisles.
Sun sighed softly, now alone in the giant supermarket as he stumbled along the path, taking simple glances at weird products from otherworldly sources which he didn't understand and didn't want to understand in the first place.
Sometimes he just touched some or looked at them, anything to distract himself from the yelling and accusations Eclipse spewed that just beautifully filled his brain up with enough bullshit to not make him think about himself.
Weirdly.
In a way though, he could feel a lump start to form in his throat due to the lack of contact, conversation and pills to fog his mind from any complicated thoughts, making him remind himself that the pharmacy trip is still needed.
And without Eclipse, it started to become much more apparent that he needed his meds to function, which he really hated. He shouldn't need pills, he's the dumb and happy one, the one without any worries or knowledge!
The thoughts only barely made small fragile tears appear in his eyes, but were blinked away in a second as the Daycare Attendant kept walking wherever his long legs could take him.
Trying to swallow the lump, he suddenly quietly noticed a small boy. This one actually seemed much more human as brown hair was seeable…Well beside the lizard tail growing there, but he didn't think it was strange for this dimension as anything else could be more strange.
With his Daycare senses kicking in, he softly smiled, letting his legs take a step forward to look at what the little one was doing.
As he approached the boy, Sun quickly noticed he couldn't reach a pack of chocolate milk that wasn't on his height. With a gentle hum, he grabbed a pack and kneeled down to the boy, holding it out with a gentle yet tired smile. “Did you want this?”
The boy stared for a second, before happily taking the pack with a nod, saying a quiet thanks and going to his parents. He barely overheard him talk to them. “The Sun man helped me!” And Sun felt the lump cease a bit with the warmth growing in his heart.
Children were such sweet beings and since the Daycare Attendant kept taking care of them, the sweet comments stayed just as much, making him get a bit more fog in the complicated “intrusive thoughts” aisle in his mind.
Otherwise though, Sun now couldn't do much more than wait since he didn't have a shopping list and practically forgot what and what wasn't missing in the fridge, which left him to stumble forward to the entrance to wallow in his own problems.
As he waited, an attempt to not overthink everything was made, quietly rubbing his arms and hugging himself as a comfort as he stood by the side, starting to tug his cardigan as well.
His rays slowly started to retract, making his emotional state so much more apparent to many passersby who are aware of animal-like instincts.
Sun slowly closed his eyes, feeling his body shake slowly as the lights started to feel too bright, the chatter around him felt like a constant thump against his head and the steps all around him gave him so much more anxiety.
A breath he didn't know he held in was coughed out, desperately trying to hold the small pieces that were still sane together as everything just seemed so much-
Barely registering anything anymore, which included the tears pricking his eyes, he brushed his back against the wall, trying so harshly to ignore the weirded out or concerned looks we were getting from other beings.
Oh god, why the fuck did he come here in the first place? He was aware that this would happen and that he would just keep being the mistake that he was and ruin the whole mood by being a fucking stupid SUICIDAL-
“Hey, Sun-! Oh, Christ-”
A sudden shake to his shoulder made him aware of how fast his heart was beating, now being the one that was acting out as he just couldn't control his stupid emotions-
Just now he had noticed the tears rhythmically prickling down his face, making him regret even more that he came along on this stupid trip in this stupid dimension with the stupid villain that he didn't even get redeemed yet-!
Sun was aware that he wasn't mentally stable, but he came anyway because he wanted to prove that he could do something as simple as grocery shopping.
But he couldn't.
The words that left Eclipse’s tongue were barely registered as all the bad things in his brain came together to only bring more problems.
Why didn't he just get more meds previously?
Why didn't he tell anyone about his problems?
Why was he such a weirdo?
A fraught?
A mistake?
Why was Eclipse even bothering with him at this point?
More voices came into the room as some people seemed to crowd a bit around, probably worried about the robot over here having a panic attack, as well as a familiar drone that he couldn't give less of a shit about.
The hand on his shoulder was too tight at the moment and even if he couldn't blame Eclipse, it was still to much and he just doesn't fucking stop talking JUST-
SLAP!
With a heavy slap to Eclipse's hand, the ringing finally became apparent to him.
Sun didn't glance at the other Celestial anymore.
He let his feet control the way as Sun made a run through the people, into the outside to get fresh air.
Sun didn't care if he was pushing people away.
He didn't care if they thought he was insane.
He was suffocating.
And it was all his fault for even coming.
[/>○○○○○○<\]
Okay.
So, maybe, juuuust maybe, it wasn't the best idea to bring his probably depressed brother into a new dimension with thousands of different beings and other bullshit he didn't know about.
With the awareness that he probably has a hint of clinical depression and more to add to his sad counter of pains and stress and more that would probably kill him inside each day.
And maybe Eclipse was just a bit concerned that Sun run off into the god-damn THOUSAND MILE-LONG PLAZA WHERE IT COULD TAKE LITERAL HOURS TO FIND HIM-
“...Is the young man okay?”
But he knew he wasn't the only one concerned about this, since his br- …acquaintance just had a panic attack in public with other rather kind creatures who wanted to show assistance.
With a silent huff, he turned around, staring at the woman before him.
Currently, the mother of some kid with a lizard tail peaked from behind him, having a soft hand on the cardigan as she looked after the now vanished animatronic.
There was a silent recognition of why the mother was concerned, as motherly figures mostly care about children or small people.
And Eclipse was barely as tall as her.
Eclipse brought his attention to the lady now. “Oh, yeah-” he mumbled dismissively, but continued. “I'll check up on him.” A reassuring forced smile came onto his face as he opened the glass doors and waved goodbye to the lady, going through the streets of the huge plaza and growling to himself.
How in the hell is he gonna find him now?
This place is a heavy mess and if he hid in the crowd, it would be way harder than even finding a needle in the haystack.
Especially because you clearly easily use a metal detector there, but not here as it would beep CONSTANTLY.
So now he had to find this depressed idiot in the amidst of a huge crowd, with no map, no detector and no fucking apology because he doesn't even-
“Mister Eclipse?”
For fucks SAKE.
“Not the time.” Eclipse only said with a groan, still walking as he ignored the drone following his every step to just piss him off unintentionally again.
And the drone persisted, flying a bit faster as they came before him with a serious and concerned face. “Mister Eclipse.” they repeated sternly, lowering themselves to eye level as Eclipse stopped.
Silence was now between the two, one glaring heavily at the other at the interruption and ready to throw them into the stratosphere, while the other couldn't help but gulp once out of nervousness.
“...I.. can track your friends location.” Cust spoke more calmly, slowly making Eclipse's arm beep with a message and lighten up with the map of the city.
The tracker made a soft sound, showing him the soft yellow dot on the map where the idiotic animatronic moron is hiding and probably crying.
Widening his eyes once before relaxing, he simply shook his head and continued forward, crossing his arms and ignoring the lump growing in his throat. “Thanks, I guess.”
It was a bare mumble as he continued on, but was stopped again by the way too real voice of the C.P.S., stopping him once again in his tracks.
“...I'm sorry about earlier.”
It was a simple apology, but Eclipse flinched anyway due to the unfamiliarity of it. “For what.” The reply was stern and annoyed, obviously showing he didn't want to deal with this right now and rather find his idiotic Moron.
“About the way i just almost mentioned…you know.”
"Oh, that? The fact I'm practically a celebrity for my mental issues?” The chuckle that left his mouth was bittersweet, dry and full of disgust. A pure mix of something that was hurting for all the members who have seen it.
Who have seen a very close tragedy.
The drone stayed mute for a moment, but then forced up a reply. “It wasn't your fault.”
“Sure.”
“I'm serious. You can't control your… thoughts sometimes and then-”
“Cust.”
Both stopped for a moment, with the drone widening its eyes and flinching for a second at the rare call of its name.
The villain barely turned as he stared, eyes full of melancholy and guilt as they lingered on the C.P.S.
"It's fine. I have more important things to deal with currently.”
With that and not another word spoken, he continued onwards to the spot where Sun resided, leaving the drone alone.
It only moved to let someone pass by.
It blinked.
And then flew away with a simple feeling of blankness and disappointment in itself.
[/>○○○○○○<\]
The walk took a while but was worth it.
Eclipse turned another corner, peeking into an rather dirty and rat filled alleyway as he let his eyes wander to a broken graffiti, some trash cans to be later discarded by the annoying bee things-
And there we go.
His eyes finally landed on the huddled up figure against a wall, letting soft sniffles and whines leave one's throat as he shook and rocked himself for comfort.
That's Sun.
Yet Eclipse couldn't find the courage to quite talk to him.
It was his fault to even come here with his anxiety-riddled. He should have known this would happen.
Fuck.
With a heavy breath, he sat down beside Sun, knowing the tension is heavy and probably something that can't even be mended currently without sharing a few words.
So he started.
“..Hey.” Eclipse started, surprisingly softly , crossing his arms.
Radio silence.
“So, uh… I wanna… apologize.” he continued, trying to avert his gaze to the faded graffiti on the wall which he could only recognize the colours.
Yellow. Blue. Orange.
How ironic.
Sun just gave a faint hum in the meanwhile as he barely lifted his head, showing that his rays were bent over.
A depressing sight, to which Eclipse could only ignore if he kept talking.
With a deep breath, he went on jokingly. “Maybe I should have known that a highly crowded place WASN'T a good place for you, you know?” By maybe lightening the mood, he could just ignore the tension and actually apologize later-
Yet his forced smile started to crack, fear sparking as he took a single glance at how Sun was reacting to it.
Which showed to somehow get angry, identified by the fact that some of the hidden extra rays peeked out and that his main rays were almost bulging out of his metal.
An excuse, give a good excuse because you don't have a shitting idea how to calm someone-
“Look, I just wanted you to have some fun-!” Eclipse said with a distracted tone, but quickly panicked as Sun suddenly unraveled his arms and put them on the ground, turning his head to him.
To which the only emotion on his face showed that he was getting agitated.
“But you- you were aware that this could lead to a panic attack.” Sun suddenly spoke as his teeth grit more, even if they had no defined line where they would clench together.
But that was besides the point.
What?
“Excuse me?”
“You…You were aware. If you were aware, why did you bring me here?”
That's.
That's a good question.
Fair point, he did notice Sun looking like a sad puppy as he first entered his room an hour or so ago, but he didn't think that it was a huge deal!
He'll get over his anxieties and probably be so distracted by this Amazing world that he would just forget the whole depression situation!
But Eclipse also just noticed that that was terrible thinking, as he had learned self judging a week ago by Sun.
“Well, i-” he attempted to start but was quickly interrupted by Sun finally hoisting himself up and towering over Eclipse like a predator.
Why was he feeling fear?
“For fun? Don't even try to lie. You wanted to make me look fucking bad.” Sun suddenly said with venom in his voice, glaring daggers at the animatronic before him.
Eclipse stared in shock but shook his head, standing up and looking at the animatronic before him to try and give the actual reason.
“Whoa, let's not jump to conclusions, Sunny-” another attempt to calm the storm approaching with a nickname, but it was shot down by the furious Sun.
The voice was now set as a mocking version of him, probably to piss him off.
Which it kinda did, but also hurt him for some reason.
“‘OH HEY! Look at my stupid fucking depressed brother who can't deal with himself!” Sun said in that mocking voice, with a glare just mixed in. “‘Who can't even stand to look at himself in the mirror till today.’”
Eclipse stared.
What was he supposed to say?
It was the way he viewed Sun once, mocking him for it and constantly belittling him about every single thing that made Sun…Sun.
But did his-...his brother...really think he couldn't change?
“If that's what you wanted, CONGRATULATIONS! You achieved it.” Sun finally finished, glaring daggers at the villain in front of him as both of them clearly didn't have any stable emotion inside of them right now.
Silence was the only thing greeting either of them, with some footsteps and street talking from the walkway out of the alleyway sprinkled in.
No words were spoken for a moment.
“...What? Silent because I'm right?” Sun tried to mock again out of anger…
But something silenced him.
… a soft sniffle.
Eclipse’s head was tilted down, but the pose and sniffling reminded him of a yelled at child who just got talked too about their bullying.
“...E-Eclipse-? Why are you-”
“Is that really how you still think of me?” Eclipse finally spoke, voice being forced up to it’s raspy normalcy, but broken down by inbetween sniffles and very faint vulnerability in the words.
“A monster that just wants people to have panic attacks in public?” Eclipse said in a hurt tone, wiping away anything that may show more emotions than needed. “I wanted to have fun with you because you look and act horrible.”
Oh?
“What?”
Eclipse clenched his fists, glaring up at Sun with a hurt and pissed off expression yet it still showed intense guilt from the fact he brought him here.
“Are you actually aware of how you've been acting recently?” A hand was placed on Sun's shoulder, not too soft and not too hard. “You don't even get out of bed anymore unless I somehow find a reason for it or you force yourself, just to clean the entire day.”
Sun stared silently.
“...But you-”
“Did I not realise how bad this was gonna be? Yes. And I was a dumbass for it.” Eclipse interrupted as he painfully looked up at Sun. “I am trying. I know I am an asshole and I wanted to treat you today because nothing can redeem me for what I've done to you.”
This is something neither of them expected today.
“And I know this is stupid to ask this of you.” Eclipse gripped tighter, but slowly let go again. “But could you atleast tell me next time so I know when to stop and leave you alone and not force yourself to come along with me out of some ask?”
There was a silent thought.
He was mainly doing this for Moon.
Who else was gonna do it when they're all busy?
“But Moon-” Sun wanted to start, but stopped at the quiet huff of acknowledgement Eclipse made.
“Sun, I… I could have literally asked Earth and we would have probably gone to an idiot market… I choose to come to you.” It was a simple sentence, but in a way it hurt.
Yet the last one practically pierced his heart.
“I'm sorry.”
Silence.
Heavy silence.
“I-”
What was he supposed to say?
Sun practically just got an apology from Eclipse for something that was his fault.
Or was it?
….
It was only fair.
“...I'm sorry too.” The words left his mouth without regret and he could just hear the surprised gasp from Eclipse.
His head shot up, wide eyes staring at the Celestial before him with those low hanging rays.
“What- Sun, what are you sorry for-?” Eclipse said way too soft in tone, too apologetic, and way too less of a raspy tone for the animatronic.
It hurt.
“I… actually just came with you…” a start, but he had to say it. “Because I wanted to get meds. Not because…”
‘Of you’ went unsaid.
…..
“...Oh.”
It sounded normal again, raspy and weirdly disappointed as he was used too. It was comforting in a way due to all the messy things that had happened.
“...Guess we both messed up?” Sun said awkwardly, knowing both had a lot to learn with actually talking to each other about their damn issues.
“...Probably.” Eclipse finally rubbed his eyes and moved a hand over his rays to bring them behind his head. “You were too scared to tell me, I'm guessing?” he asked calmly, now acknowledging it with logic rather than emotion.
“Yeah, I… didn't have the words for this.”
Both were silent now, without words, yelling or complaints coming from either mouth, leaving emptiness behind where hate should be.
“...This is shit.”
Excuse me.
Sun couldn't help but suddenly let out a broken snicker at that stupid response, the bitterness suddenly mixing with the sweetness of the other's joy.
“Thats- That's your response to it?” Sun sputtered out with a broken wheeze. “This is shit?” he extended his arms due to this dramatically, trying to keep himself from snickering further.
Eclipse showed though that he didn't even take this seriously as a spiced snicker came from him too, breaking a bit of that raspy tone but also including it.
“Look, what the fuck do you want me too say?” Eclipse snickered more, almost breaking into cackling due to this bullshit. "We're morons!” he threw his arms in the air dramatically aswell, before finally resting them on his knees.
Both started to laugh and snicker, finding a bittersweet taste in all this mess. It was like the two used their mentally ill nature to finally break the hate the both had.
“God, I… this place sucks.” Sun exclaimed, coughing a bit from all the laughter and putting his hand to his mouth
But Eclipse rolled his eyes and shook his head jokingly. “Nah, we suck. We're the worst at communicating.” A bit of honesty flowed into those worst, but both couldn't care less.
For a moment, it was silent again other than a few hums and coughs, leaving the two to a decision.
“...Do…Do you wanna like.” Eclipse spoke, slowly getting that smirk of mischievousness again “...Go to the pharmacy? We can still get whatever drugs you need.” he suddenly said with a dismissing wave.
Sun shot him an immediate angry glare, but Eclipse knew not to actually take that seriously anymore.
“EXCUSE ME, they're not drugs! Their MEDS.” Sun said extremely sternly, glaring into Eclipse’s very soul to stop him from joking like that.
“Yeah, sure. You crack addict.” But Eclipse couldn't give less of a shit as he turned around, stretching his arms and putting them behind his head as he walked away.
And Sun couldn't help but give a deathglare that was also soft as they proceeded to the pharmacy.
[/>○○○○○○<\]
“God, you really are a drug addict.”
“Shut the fuck up.”
Both were joking around now as they got the meds.
Eclipse was currently looking extremely curiously at the amount of meds in Sun's arms, which included antidepressants, Schizophrenia pills, anxiety pills and painkillers - he suffered from migraines.
“These are all important, and you know that.” Sun said with a judging glare as he slowly put them on the counter, letting Eclipse pay due to the fact he had nothing that would ever compare to the value of this world.
Eclipse had told him though that one could change their coins or account stuff into machines, so maybe he could get some money after their first ever trip has finally ended.
To be honest, this trip was a ride but also a quite neat experience.
So many creatures, so many places and so many new things to discover… it was like a dreamland of possibilities, maybe even a dear dream that one could only imagine.
If it was, he didn't want it to end just yet.
“Oy, get out of your head, we're done.” Eclipse smiled, throwing the bag of meds into Sun's face and letting the guy who needs them carry them with a grumble.
As they finally exited the store and Eclipse prepared a sweet portal with his magic, Sun took one last look at the crystal emitting the drones from.
Yet suddenly, it started to fucking Spin around it's whole form.
It went into a cube shape, making Sun stare in awe of this dimension once again and its abilities to stun him… and make him ask questions.
“Hey, Eclipse?” Sun finally asked, making the burned Cheeto slowly hum in acknowledgement. “Is…Is this normal?” he pointed quickly, not wanting to raise a false alarm.
With a quick peek, Eclipse chuckled. “Oh, yeah yeah. That's when tourists go up there so a platform can appear. You aren't allowed to physically stand there. You could turn the whole place off.” he stated with a knowing stare, seeing the white and transparent platform forming itself.
Sun only nodded.
How fascinating.
“Come on now. We gotta get home.” Eclipse said, for once giving a kind smile to his brother as he patted the head jokingly, which emitted a snicker from Sun.
They re-entered the clean Daycare, closing the portal behind them to finally bring rest from all the stuff that had happened.
Though.
A realization suddenly went through them both.
“....Wait a minute.”
“We- We forgot the groceries, didn't we?”
It was a happy ending after all.
