Chapter Text
Hestia let out a sigh. This council meeting was going as well as any other, which meant horribly. This was their annual council meeting when even her brother, Hades joined in. It shouldn't be like this. Her Family shouldn't be fighting like this. The commotion around the room died as a bright light flashed in the council room. When the light dimmed, she saw three familiar old ladies standing in the middle of the room. The fates. Hestia knew that the arrival of the old sisters usually did not mean well. However, their arrival had caused the commotion in the room to stop, for that she was grateful.
Clotho was the first one of them to speak. Her mouth did not move but her voice was heard loud and clear. "We wish to say we are surprised to see you were fighting when we arrived but we are not." Lachesis continued for her sister "This is all you know to do. Fight, argue, war, hurt, pride, arrogance and ignorance. For that, you shall learn. You shall grow and experience what you have not before. Most of you, that is." Before the gods could even protest her disrespect, she looked at her other sister who snapped her fingers. Suddenly there were about twenty more, unconscious, figures in the room. All of them lying down on the floor, most of them wearing bright orange t-shirts. Hestia could tell just by looking at them that most of them were demigods, there were also two mortals. A young girl with red hair and a middle aged woman with a kind face. She also recognised Chiron and a satyr she did not know. They were not sleeping, just unconscious.
"Most of them are of your blood, from the future to come. You shall learn from them." Clotho started again to be quickly interrupted by loud thundering. "Are you saying we shall learn from them? What level of ignorance is this that you put these puny demigods on the same level as-" Clotho paid no regard to the words of the king of gods and continued "They are the saviours of Olympus, of all of you. You shall not hurt them, we will take the necessary measures. Let them introduce themselves when we leave. After that, you shall understand our work." Lachesis continued for her sister again "You need to heed our warning. Do not let your prejudice keep you from growing. Let yourself remember what it was like to feel helpless, what it was like to feel. You cannot forget, they are important." Atropos spoke for the first time since they had arrived "They will wake when we leave, they also do not know yet. You will discover together." The fates, again, disappeared in a bright flash. Leaving the thirteen gods to deal with the, now waking, group on the floor.
It took a while until everyone was awake. They all seemed disorientated but still calm after they saw and recognised each other. They must trust each other a lot, Hestia thought. She looked around at her family and shook her head, the notion of trust was most unfamiliar to them after a millennia. She saw a mixture of expressions on her family's face. Some curious, like Poseidon, Athena and Hades, some enraged, like Zeus and Ares, some expectant, like Aphrodite, Apollo and Hermes, the rest seemed indifferent. Someone from the group stepped forward. He had short blonde hair and sky-blue eyes. There was a small scar on his lips. He kneeled and started
"Pontifex Maximus, Jason Grace greets the high council of Olympus."
Hestia saw a boy with dark messy hair and sea green eyes roll her eyes, she couldn't help but smile, this was going to be very entertaining. "My lords and ladies, may we know the reason we were summoned?" The blonde boy, Jason, continued. Zeus thundered again "This is the work of the fates, introduce yourselves and we shall get this started and over with as soon as possible." he said with a sour expression. Jason nodded, he seemed used to this type of treatment from the gods which made Hestia feel disappointed in her family. Before Hestia could even open her mouth, Athena stepped in "Before you start you should know, the fates have told us you are from the future. What time do you come from, young hero?" There were a few whispers that passed through the crowd, their expressions reflected how surprised they were. "We come from 2010 my lady. May we know what year we are in currently, then?" Athena nodded "Currently it is 1990." She gestured to them with her hand to introduce themselves.
"Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena." Upon hearing one of the newcomers was her daughter, the wisdom goddess perked up but Annabeth made a point to not look at her. Athena frowned and leaned back on her throne.
"Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus." Hephaestus just grunted in acknowledgement.
"Piper McLean, daughter of Aphrodite." Aphrodite clasped her hands together and beamed at her daughter.
"Frank Zhang, son of Mars."
"Clarisse La Rue, daughter of Ares." Ares smirked and nodded at both of his children. Frank looked uncomfortable but Clarisse just nodded back.
"Chris Rodriguez, son of Hermes."
"Travis and Connor Stoll, sons of Hermes." Hermes smiled at his sons.
"Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano, daughter of Bellona."
"Rachel Elizabeth Dare, the Oracle." Apollo leaned forwards with interest upon hearing that his Oracle had changed bodies again, Hades frowned, not understanding how that was even possible.
"Pollux, son of Dionysus."
"Will Solace, son of Apollo."
"Katie Gardner, daughter of Demeter."
The demigods who had not yet been introduced all looked around, seemingly uncomfortable. Then one of them cleared his throat. "Nico Di Angelo, son of Hades." There was a prolonged silence before commotion broke out. Zeus started shouting at his brother about being a traitor while Poseidon seemed to be not as angry but still irritated. "Wait! My father did not break the oath." Nico shouted, giving Zeus and Poseidon pointed looks. Artemis raised her eyebrows, what did that mean? "I was born in the early 1930s, I am still young due to a... circumstance but my father did not break the oath." This seemed to calm down Zeus a little bit, although he still seemed agitated.
Before the next person introduced themselves Annabeth stepped forward. "We should probably tell you that the rest of the demigods are all kids of either Zeus, Hades or Poseidon. However, Lord Hades was the only one who did not break the oath. Both of his kids were born around the same time and are young due to other reasons." She said quickly before anyone could cut her off with an angry rant. This caused Hades to just smirk smugly and lean back on his throne. Zeus and Poseidon had started making angry eye contact so Hestia just gestured to the next demigod to continue.
"Hazel Levesque, daughter of Pluto."
"Jason Grace, son of Jupiter." Poseidon scoffed but Zeus paid him no mind, he seemed to be pleased with the fact that his son was the Pontifex Maximus.
"Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus, Lieutenant of the Hunters of Artemis." Artemis perked up with interest before quickly deflating. This meant that Zoe, her precious Zoe, had died.
"Percy Jackson, Son of Poseidon." Poseidon looked at his son with pride. He had a strong aura to him, obviously had earned great glory. However, that feeling was short-lived as he saw the tired look in his son's eyes. What had happened to him that dimmed his eyes like that?
"Sally Jackson-Blofis, Percy's mother." This caught everyone's attention. Annabeth apparently just realising Sally was there gasped and ran to hug the older woman. Sally just smiled and hugged Annabeth back tightly. They were soon joined by Thalia, daughter of Zeus. There were soft mumbles between the demigods. "Oh my gods, Sally is here?" "I haven't seen Mrs. Jackson-Blofis in ages!" "Wait, that is THE Sally Jackson?" Hestia softly smiled, this woman seemed to be cared for by all of the demigods.
"Grover Underwood, Lord of the Wild." This caused Hermes to raise an eyebrow, that title belonged to his son? Had this young satyr found his son?
"Chiron, the trainer of heroes."
As soon as Chiron finished speaking, a large box dropped onto the floor between the crowd and the gods. Annabeth stepped forwards to open the box and took out a stack of books along with an envelope. She opened the envelope first and started reading out loud.
"For this experience to be fruitful, we shall make sure everyone is on equal ground." In a flash of light all of the gods found themselves standing with the rest of the crowd. Their thrones had been replaced by large couches for everyone to sit on. "You shall read the books we have supplied you. The ones from the future will not be able to reveal anything that will have yet to be mentioned during the reading. We have taken the freedom to limit you to mortal bodies for everyone's sake. We have one more guest arriving, you may start reading after." There were sounds of protest from the gods at being turned mortal but they all knew they could not do anything against the fates, especially these forms, so they just chose to keep grumbling quietly. The guest the fates had mentioned arrived not long after, Dionysus. He rolled his eyes and spoke while walking to the nearest seat. "Everything has been explained to me, I am not happy but it's better than that miserable place." Chiron spoke up next after realising nobody else would. "Shall we take a seat so we can read and rest, then?" The gods all moved to sit down, expecting their respective children to follow suit but the mostly demigod crown just looked at each other.
Percy took a deep breath and grabbed his mum's and Annabeth's hands. He pulled them towards where Poseidon was sitting. Poseidon smiled and looked at the other gods as if to say 'see, my son likes me, your kids don't.' Nico wanted to sit with her dad but also did not want to leave Will alone. Will took notice and whispered "Go, my dad will feel lonely if I don't sit with him." while rolling his eyes. Nico nodded and pulled his sister towards their dad. Thalia chose to sit with Artemis which made Zeus frown in shock, she was his daughter, she should be sitting with him. Artemis and Thalia quickly fell into conversation. Jason wanted to sit with his sister but with the way their dad was looking at him expectantly, he couldn't just not sit with him. Even if it made her uncomfortable. He squeezed his girlfriend's hand as an apology, knowing she wouldn't feel comfortable sitting with Zeus before Heading towards his dad. Piper just grabbed Reyna, whose mum was not present, to go sith with her mum. They had grown rather close recently. Frank noticed the theme of sitting with parents and followed Clarisse towards their dad as well. The Stoll brothers approached their dad, expecting Chris to follow them. However, Chris was the first one to break the pattern, he chose to sit with girlfriend, Clarisse. He shot an apologetic look to his brothers and ignored his dad's efforts to make eye contact in question. Travis nudged his dad and shook his head, telling him to drop it for now. Pollux, Leo and Katie also took their seats next to their parents. Apollo waved his hand at his Oracle, urging her to sit with him and his son. She obliged. Grover also took a seat on the Poseidon couch with Percy.
The couches were arranged to make a half U shape so they could all see each other. Chiron, seemingly satisfied with everyone taking their seats, spoke up. " I will begin the reading. We will need to take breaks every now and then for our young demigods' ah... comfort." The demigods seemed very happy to hear that and all nodded enthusiastically. Chiron smiled softly and picked up the book with the number "1" on it with a huge font.
He cleared his throat and started reading.
