Work Text:
Kevin stared at the ceiling as he laid on his brother's bed, well more of his estranged twin. He was able to convince his parents to take him to back to California by forging a letter, telling each of them they had a secret admirer, awaiting their presence. It was amusing watching them both agree to rush over sending them both on a wild goose (lol) chase.
Bradley hopped onto the bed, grinning at Kevin while waving a small paper baggy around. Despite the two's usual silence, when together they seemed to have some sort of twin telepathy. But when it was just them Bradley would often talk.
He handed the baggy over to Kevin, “It’s the good shit, trust me.” He grinned. As Kevin peered inside the bag he saw pure kush, some good old marijuana. While available medicinally in Canada, buying it on the side was way out of Kevin’s price range. He questioned his brother if it was legal in California, in response all he got was a shrug as the other pulled out a grinder. Kevin sat up, watching as his brother began to roll the joint, it reminded him of the time he and Timmy had made knock-off cigarettes. Eventually, Bradley began to light it and took a huff before passing it to Kevin. Kevin did the same before handing it back to his twin. They both sat there taking huffs til it was done.
Kevin sat there waiting for the effects to hit him, to his surprise the buzz wasn’t really all that much. He felt disappointed and sighed before lying back down on the bed.
“What? Not what you expected?” Bradley leaned over. Kevin shook his head, “Well, it’s not tobacco buddy, it’s gonna feel different.” Kevin shrugged, telling him that he knew that but expected more. All he was really feeling was hungry, which pissed him off more than anything. Bradley offered to have a car take them somewhere to grab a bite, but the question was where?
“Hm…Well Jack in the Box is made for stoners, but God I hate the grease. And I’m not feeling Mcdonalds.” Kevin laid there, beginning to get irritated with his indecisive brother, he didn’t really care where they ate, he just wanted to eat. “Oh! I know let's do In-and-Out! They don’t have that in Canada they hardly even have em here! It’s like, so good.” Kevin sat up, adjusting his hat as he nodded, it’s true, despite all the fast food he had consumed with his family due to no one ever being bothered to be in the kitchen he had never had In-and-Out. But he also didn’t care, he just wanted to eat. Bradley grinned and called his limo.
As they waited in line Kevin looked at the menu while his brother tapped his foot, annoyed by the long line. Finally, they reached the front of the line, a teenage cashier, around the same age as them took their order before telling them it’d be a few minutes. Kevin looked around as Allen appeared next to him.
“This place got some sort of retro vibe to it, huh broken-head? Man good for you for mooching off your brother like he's some sort of sugar daddy.” He felt annoyed by that comment and the implications that came with it. He began to punch himself to teach Allen a lesson as Bradley laughed, amused by his brother's shenanigans. As their number was called Bradley rushed over before bringing their food back. They both began to eat, Kevin couldn’t tell if it was just the hunger getting to him but the burger was really good. Messy but good, and a shitload of pickles. They both ate consistently, except for the fries. For some reason, the fries just tasted like shit. It began to sour the sociopath's mood, he had finished his burger but didn’t want to eat the cardboard-tasting fries. So he sat watching his brother continue to eat, eventually getting bored.
“Man, those employees disrespected you, Kevin! Imagine coming all the way to California to eat fries worse than any we’ve had at Harvey's. I’d say we teach them a lesson.” Kevin had agreed with the goose, he sat up, walking over to one of the employees before socking him in the face and proceeding to light his “gay little hat” as Allen was calling it, on fire. He then ran out as a swarm of people began to process what was happening, Bradley following.
The other brother laughed, still eating his burger as they walked alongside each other. The streets were lit up by the Los Angeles traffic and street life. Kevin smiled, it was always nice to spend time with family.
