Work Text:

Dabi was annoyed by his new coworker, despite only having met him days before.

He was useful, but Dabi had to consider if him being a stepping stone to his goals was worth his own mental health. He stalked beside the man, who was rambling on and on about the smallest details. He must’ve been pretty messed up, considering he was contradicting himself every other sentence. (and sometimes in the middle of them too.)

“Hey, C’mon, Dabi! Show some spirit! We’re gonna beat those highschoolers into the dirt! Respectfully, for we don’t want to make them uncomfortable.” Twice spoke directly to him, flicking him on the head while simultaneously patting him on the back.

He liked him better when he had the bag on his head. The suit made him more insufferable.

“Shut it, two-time. We're getting closer to the place where the heroes are holed up, and I don't want you to make them aware of it.” Dabi snapped, making a threatening gesture with his fire.

“Got it! I mean- got it.” He whispered, not understanding the threat behind Dabi’s words. He bent down as if he was sneaking, before skipping ahead like a schoolgirl.

Dabi could feel his eyes twitching. The older man acted much younger than the rest of them, other than Toga. Hell, even Mustard, who was by far the youngest villain, was much more stable and intelligent than him. But, Dabi had to give it to him, he had way more street smarts that most would give him credit for.

Still, he was way too annoying. The cons were out weighing the pros.

“Hey, Dabi! Are we there yet? We’re going in circles! We’re gonna die!” Twice clutched his mask, panicking for no reason before orienting himself. “Anyway, I realized it’s around the part where I’m supposed to copy you. Just wanted to give you a heads up. As if I care.”

Dabi sighed. He had watched the process once before, but it was still… gross. The brown substance poured from the doubler’s hands and began to shape into a humanlike figure. Twice scraped some extra off and added some into other places, until it was a mirror of Dabi.

“Now, go forth! Be careful. Kill anyone you see, but be gentle!” He pointed forward, his legs and body moving with it.

“Whatever, Twice. Can you make another one?”

“Apologies, Dabi. I would rather wait until the other ones vanishes. I’m exhausted! I’m gonna take a nap.”

He literally laid down at the base of a tree. Dabi couldn’t tell if he was actually sleeping, but he didn’t care. Despite his utility, Twice was a liability.

He hoped that he was one of the ones to get captured tonight.
