Work Text:
As far as Reigen could judge, that was a good first kiss.
He had fewer of those than people assumed he had. And none of those had been with someone he cared about as much as he cared about Serizawa.
He hadn't started that day thinking it would end like this, or even that he that day would give any sign to his associate that for a long time his feelings for him hadn't been exclusively platonic. But just a few minutes ago he and Serizawa had returned to the office after closing a case where he really thought he had managed to help people, and he was happy and comfortable and satisfied with his life and with who he was now and he had said something which made Serizawa laugh and it occurred to him that the only thing that would make the moment better was if he could kiss the man in front of him.
And with a courage and recklessness that Reigen didn't know where it came from he did precisely that.
And when a moment later Serizawa wrapped him in his arms, so strong and at the same time so gentle, he knew it had been the right choice. He closed his eyes, trying to focus only on the feeling of his mouth against his and in the arms holding him. And he did this until he started to feel light, too light in fact.
When he opened his eyes he saw that he was floating in the air, just like Serizawa. And also all the other objects present in the room.
Serizawa must have also noticed something strange because he also opened his eyes and immediately he and Reigen fell to the floor, along with all the objects in the room.
"What was that?" Tome's voice said from the other side of the door.
Serizawa looked at him, his face was very red and with a distinct expression of panic that Reigen hadn't seen in months.
“Nothing.” Reigen said sitting down on the floor, and after a moment he continued “You can go home early today.”
And in a matter of seconds he could hear the girl grabbing her belongings and leaving before he had a chance to change his mind.
Only after her footsteps were far away did Serizawa speak:
"I am really sorry. I’m sorry. It wasn't intentional. I mean the kiss was, not the making things float. I will clean it up immediately.”
"It’s fine, it's okay, the only thing that's really valuable is the computer and it doesn't seem to have suffered any major damage. Reigen said not sure if that was true, there were several things that seemed to have suffered damage and there was no way of knowing if the computer hadn't broken without examining it properly.
“I just...I've been waiting for this for a long time and I didn't want my stupid powers to ruin everything.”
“It didn't ruin it...so you've been waiting for this?”
"Yes. No. What I mean is, I wanted it to happen, but I didn't really think it would. I love you. I'm sorry, that's a weird thing to say after kissing someone for the first time. But it's true."
“Okay, really...me too.”
"What part?"
"All of them."
Serizawa was still very red, but now on his face there was an expression of pure happiness, and Reigen knew that his own face had a very.
“So...what do you think of making things levitate again?” Reigen asked.
Serizawa nodded..
And soon things started to float in the air again, including themselves.
