Zero......is a strange man.
On certain, occasional days, he'd claim he has nothing else to do. The Reploid backs his excuses up with more excuses—such as the Resistance being rather lacking in security protocols (to which Faucon has been greatly offended by), or so-and-so, but still similar in nuance, all piled on top.
Of course, Ciel lets him be, Zero is very honest and she wouldn't question his loyalty, but his strange behavior would certainly raise a couple of brows within the Resistance numbers.
And now? Zero is the corner of Ciel's room, all in obvious eyeshot, almost as always as he had that she half-expected him to since, arms folded, his crimson-laden body lying still against the steely bunker-walls, eyes half-shutting as he watches the scientist with a hawk-like focus.
Oh, his eyes—it was a shiny deep purple, yet it teeters shy of being periwinkle blue.
Ciel, too, crosses her arms on her desk as a makeshift pillow as she lies on her elbows, eyeing her bodyguard in turn. She, for once, took a break from research, else carpal tunnel makes her progress hinder so.
"Pray tell, Zero, what brings you in my room this time?"
"Well," Zero reasons with a frown, cocking his head to the side to face the direction of her figure. "Just because."
With his answer (it was almost always the same), she shrugs, forcibly pushing her own lips down to hide a secret smile that does its damnedest to show on her face. "I see," she says.
Though, either way, she doesn't mind if Zero randomly acted like this. If anything, she secretly kind of...likes it.
Ciel stares into Zero's eyes, vibrant blue meets deep purple, half-pretending she never heard her own heart go thump-a-thump! even louder as she does. Goodness, will it ever go still!
With every subtle shift of his head, Zero's eyes change from blue, to purple, and all shades in between, sometimes even a sheer, shiny black. It was so beautiful, it reminds her of crystal.
She'd play along with this silly excuse so long as he wants it. It was ridiculous, of course.
"Is there something on my face?" Zero asks, a teeny-tiny smile creeping on his own lips. It was such a rare sight from his usual scowl, Ciel's heart jumps as she turns to hide her ruby-red blush; she fibs.
"N-Nothing at all!"
