Chapter Text
Shang Qinghua is tired, more tired than usual. He usually just wanted to take a nap and eat all day—the tired that he was feeling was more on the side of exhaustion. It was the type of tired that would make a person want to sink into the floor and cry themselves to sleep. Being tired wasn’t rare for the An Ding peak lord, but this time, he was starting to regret not taking the chance to go back to the modern world when his system gave him the choice to. Shang Qinghua was worn out and fed up with everything, mainly the other sect leaders, His King, Mo BeiJun, and the workload after workload. He has even stopped sleeping (not that he slept much to begin with but still) and eating much less than he normally would. It got to a point where even his disciples were starting to worry for him when they went to give him more work to do.
Shang Qinghua didn’t like to be pushed around like he was a mindless robot. But he couldn’t exactly fight back since all of the other peak lords were stronger than him and their words meant more to others than his. He hated the way he was treated. He was a peak lord just like the others, but he wasn’t treated that way. Shang Qinghua didn’t even want people to worship him like he was some sort of god , absolutely not. But he at least wanted to be given the same amount of respect, he was still a peak lord . The only people who truly respected him were his disciples. They were the only ones who knew how hard his job was and just how much of a toll it was taking on him.
The An Ding peak lord didn’t like to be nor did he want to be pushed around by grown-ass adults who couldn’t do basic mathematics or paperwork, but his god-damned system wouldn’t let him do or say the things he wanted to to the other peak lords. Sure the OOC feature was off, meaning he had more free will, but his system still held him back from things because it would ‘affect the story’ even though the ‘story’ was mostly over.
Another thing that’s been annoying and stressing him out lately is those stupid wife plots (that he created) he’s been getting wrapped up into due to Shen Qingqiu being around him more often. The damn wife plots have been happening more often for some reason, which has been causing him to have more piles of work to go through at the sect and the Northern Kingdom due to him being missing (kidnapped) and not being able to go through his work like normally does. Shang Qinghua hates it. He hates everything, well except His King and Noodles, but that's beside the point. As Mobei Jun has been, albeit unknowingly, giving him more work due to politics and the ‘missions’ he goes on, and said work was been making him more and more frustrated than he already was.
Currently, Shang Qinghua was on the verge of breaking down into a heap of sobs from stress and exhaustion. He wanted to take a long-deserved nap, but he couldn’t do either because his ‘favorite’ couple decided to bother him. Plus, at the moment he looked less than presentable, which meant he looked like he had just come back from the dead.
Shang Qinghua was staring at the sheer amount of work he had piled up with a vacant expression, completely spaced out before the doors to his work room were slammed open which took him by surprise and snapped him out of his dazed state at the loud BANG that echoed into the halls of the peak.
“Shang Qinghua!” he hears Shen Qingqiu shout his name as he enters hurriedly, quickly closing the door behind him and turning to look at the An Ding peak lord. The peak lord looks up at Shen Qingqiu with a very tired expression, clearly under the weather. Shen Qingqiu stares at An Ding peak lord with a slightly worried expression, although he would never admit he’s worried.
“Um, what is wrong with you?” the Qing Jing peak lord asks bluntly, which comes out a little more harsher than he meant for it to be. Shen Qingqiu grimaces after he's done speaking.
Shang Qinghua looks up at him with a look that screams ‘seriously dude?’ before he sighs and stretches his arms up and splays his legs out under his desk so his limbs don’t cramp up more than they already are from him being in the same crisscrossed position on the floor all day.
“Well, this is going to be a long story, so you might as well sit down.” Shang Qinghua states which makes Shen Qingqiu roll his eyes but still sits down to let the hamster-like, peak lord ‘spill his woes’ to him as Shen Qingqiu so eloquently once said during one of their monthly private meetings.
